Mano Posted February 26, 2002 Posted February 26, 2002 What is the history of the high heels anyway? Where do they come from? I have seen so many different explanations. I guess riding boots needed heels for practical purposes, and in the old days, mostly men used that. But shat about the stiletto? I've heard somethin about it originating from Italy in the 50ies...? Anyway, my point is, that if we look back into history, we will probably find that heels have been worn by men almost as often as by women and that heels cannot be regarded as "feminine" unless you are completely ignorant about history...
Tacchi Alti Posted February 26, 2002 Posted February 26, 2002 I think you'll find a comprehensive article about this on Jenny's site. 'Come, and trip it as ye go On the light fantastic toe.' John Milton
Firefox Posted February 26, 2002 Posted February 26, 2002 Yes many of the answers are on Jenny's site: http://193.251.60.36/Jenny/history.htm But, I sure we can fill in some of the gaps and discus other aspects here...
