BadWriter Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 I found that very interesting. I had never seen a shoe crafted before. The forming of the wood heel surprised me. I always assumed that there was some sort of metal rod down through the center of higher heels to keep them from snapping when walking.
Dr. Shoe Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Stunning! This is exactly why someone who draws a pretty picture of a pair of shoes has not designed them. BTW, take the covering off a heel and you'll probably find they're plastic with a reinforcement down the middle, wood is too fragile for a heel that high. Trolldeg Posted November 23, 2011 Posted November 23, 2011 Stunning! This is exactly why someone who draws a pretty picture of a pair of shoes has not designed them. Of course they have. They have designed the look of them. They have not designed the function of them.

zetex Posted December 16, 2011 Posted December 16, 2011 Please, remember that this is an advertising clip. I bet that Mr. Zanotti never used sandpaper (it would ruin his manicure). Ad lasts are made on CAD-CAM equipment.
Majo Posted December 17, 2011 Posted December 17, 2011 Please, remember that this is an advertising clip. I bet that Mr. Zanotti never used sandpaper (it would ruin his manicure). Ad lasts are made on CAD-CAM equipment. I wouldn't be so sure. Practice makes the master; and if he wasn't able to make the wooden model... he wouldn't be able to make the real shoe. There was video at Sergio Rossi's site a couple of year ago showing the making of a shoe, too.
