Hello from California! I've made a couple of posts, but have not formally said hello yet. This is a great board to go to for when I need my "fix" :( which is probably why I'll be dropping in and out inexplicably. I've been a fan of stiletto pumps since somewhere between 8th and 9th grade and it really took hold at 10th and 11th grades. I had 1 teacher that wore them all the time, so much so that I wished she'd wear flats (did I say that?!) now and then to mix it up. I was so distracted in that history class (AP - Advance Placement no less) I'm amazed I got an "A". She liked to sit on her desk, dangle them on and off and the like; it drove me crazy  It didn't hurt that she always wore nice suits to go with them. I remember another teach that wore them on rare occassions including the time I had to give her a 1 on 1 book report. I should have given her a compliment rather than just thinking about them, but I was young :( I also worked part time in an insurance office then (it's still what I do now), and pumps and suits were the standard then. In a way I'm glad that's not the case now as I doubt I'd ever get any work done!

I'm 30 years old now (male) and while the sighthings are rarer now than they were back then, it's always a pleasure to see a woman in pumps. I have worn up to 4.5" pumps myself but like ones around 3.5" to 4" best. However, they have been too much for me to handle so I've sent all the ones I previously owned back or given them away to Goodwill or something. Heels are failry common around here in S. California (though not the styles I like best) with heeled sandals or blocks being the most common. Nothing turns my head like black pumps over 3" though, wow! Another problem is the tendency for women here to wear pants so long they go to the ground and nearly completely obscure them from view, what a shame! :( I've gotten to be a skirt lover too as they never get in the way of the shoes, (well except the longest dresses).

BTW, My user name, daisuki, is Japanese which means "likes very much or is much enamored of" I took a year of it so I have a very basic understanding of the language.

It looks like I've overdone my "hello" but, in parting, here's how my ideal woman dresses:

Welcome! Hope you post often. By the way, not a think wrong with you're ideal woman, in my opinion. :(

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Welcome, Daisuki, it's nice that you gave us such a good introduction. Your ideal woman is dressed very well, but I get the feeling that her head is too big for her body. meaning she needs to eat something. :( heehee

Hi there, your ideal is nice, but I fear an unattainable fantasy for me. You don't think she has been stretched a tiny touch with Photoshop do you??? :( /I

I meant to say ideally dressed, but I guess what I was truly thinking came out instead. Ah, the wonders of early morning posts :( I got about 3 hours of sleep last night, I don't know how I made it through the day, hehe.

Photoshop? say it ain't so! :( Yeah, I guess she's a bit thin, but the shoe appears to be in proportion. FYI, I should have credited that the picture came from my favorite vendor (US). Here is the link to the page:

Thank you for the warm welcome :(

Welcome Daisuki. You have a good taste in office dress. We're revamping a well known internet site at the moment, and picture like that would fit very well. I hope you have a great time here. We are a diverse community, but we try to respect everyone's views, for the fact remains that even if we are realtively mainstream we all have our own particular niches. I liked your intro and also remember some teachers who wore nice shoes in my early days. My interest developed to wearing similar heights in differing styles, which suited me, outside in normal life, and writing about them on the internet.
