alistair Posted August 11, 2011 Posted August 11, 2011 Hi, my favioite white pleaser thigh boots have deveoped splits in the sole, are they fit for the rubbish bin or can they be resoled?
Shafted Posted August 12, 2011 Posted August 12, 2011 Your local shoe repairer should be able to. My local shoe repairer had resoled some of mine in leather instead of the original plastic sole. It was a big improvment in comfort and walkability. Shafted, the boots that is! Tacchi Alti Posted August 25, 2011 Posted August 25, 2011 I doubt you'd get new thigh boots for the same price as resoling, unless the cost of repair is extortionate in your area. How bad are the splits? Do the shoes need anything more than a new sole to cover them or do the splits themselves need attention? You can get replacement rubber soles for a few pounds and stick them on for yourself if your repairer would charge too much! 'Come, and trip it as ye go On the light fantastic toe.' John Milton
Thighbootguy Posted September 6, 2011 Posted September 6, 2011 I've had several pair of my thigh boots resoled by a cobbler with a rubber like compound (Vibram?) and it makes them much easier to walk in because of the better adhesion. I also had him make the sole a little wider than the original because the ball of my foot had stretched the boot a little past the original sole. I am wondering what you did the the boots to cause the sole to split? I dream of a world where chickens can cross roads without having their motives questioned.
