Foxyheels Posted May 9, 2011 Posted May 9, 2011 I now wear earrings and bracelets every day, some are quite 'sparkly'. I think it helps add to an overall look when wearing heels. I don't want to be seen as a man in heels but rather known for my alternative or quirky look. Hopefully then most people will see it as a fashion stateent that I choose to wear high heels along with pretty earrings and necklaces whilst still presenting myself as 100% male. Below are some of the stuff I wear routinely everyday no matter where I am or what I am doing. The only exception is at work but that's because I wear a uniform and I am restricted to a pair of discreet stud earrings but those rules apply to everyone. http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots026.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots025.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots024.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots023.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots022.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots021.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots020.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots019.jpg http://i1228.photobucket.com/albums/ee451/Foxyheels/ANKLE%20BOOTS/Ankleboots018.jpg Comments please, I find it gives me confidence as I have an overall look. For example went into where MrsF works today with earings worn in the pictures above (ones that show side of my face) and my thick bracelet and had a conversation with a lady MrsF works with about another one of their workmates. He is a 25 year old lad and MrsF workmate said he was too effeminate, the point being she was saying this to a man with earrings and shiny bracelet about a young lad who wears no jewellery. I had only just met her but clearly she did not see me as effeminate as I could have though 'if she thinks that of him what on earth does she think of me'. It was clear she felt safe discussing it with me to obtain my opinion as a macho bloke. High heels are the shoes I choose to put on, respect my choice as I repect yours.
Histiletto Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 It is your choice as to what you want to adorn your appearance, as long as the people you treasure aren't offended enough to retard or reject your relationship with them. And I'm assuming you do care what those close around you think and feel. Obviously, our social programming keeps getting in the way of who we really are. We hide the things we perceive society would have issues with, even though these things have helped us to fill a void. There is so much to learn and experience. Hiding limits our ability to become stewards of our quests, in stead it makes us the results of whatever happens.

Surprisingly very few comments from family and friends and certainly nothing negative. Several positive comments and the odd "you know they are girls don't you." MrsF actually encouraged me getting my ears pierced and bought me some bracelets for my birthday. My 13 year old son has no issue with it and even relatives from an older generation are completely ok. I have worn them at meetings and last week at a national indoor games event with 500 police officers present, no issues what so ever. I do very much consider those close to me and if me wearing jewellery effected them negatively I would stop but I guess I don't associate with intolerant people so I'm on o a win-win situation. Glad to hear that it is going so well for you, I have had my ears pierced for about 7 years now (2 holes each ear) and I wear earrings ALL the time. My wife sometimes comments if I am not wearing any on how I need to go put some on because she does not like to see them without any. She has even offered some that she is wearing at times when I left the house and forgot to put any in. I have two teenage boys and two girls, one teen and one pre-teen, and they are used to it and do not care that I wear them. It truly is all in what people are used to seeing.
radiodave Posted May 12, 2011 Posted May 12, 2011 I've worn toe rings before, and even got some compliments from the ex-wife. Last year I got my ears pierced, and I usually wear some CZ studs or small hoops. My friends and my sisters thought it was cool that I pierced my ears, and I can't say I've had any negative comments. I think Foxyheels said it right, I don't associate with intolerant people either. I think I once heard the phrase "Those who mind don't matter, and those who matter don't mind".
scott_f Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 between the diamond stud earrings i wear, the ankle bracelets and the toe rings, i dont even notice or care what anybody says anymore
bluejay Posted May 14, 2011 Posted May 14, 2011 I too like to wear jewelery. I wear rings on several of my fingers. Always wear bracelets and wear necklaces with an open collar shirts. I also wear anklets and sometimes toe rings when I am wearing sandals. I seldom wear earrings because I do not have my ears pierced. I am considering ear piercing along with a nipple piercing as I have stated in another thread. I just love to wear jewelery with or without wearing heels! bluejay
