I was really pleased to find a forum dedicated to shoes (the only other one I regularly post on is dedicated to videography). Guess that makes me a bit of a geek. I wonder if everyone keeps their RL name private? This name - kunoichi - is female ninja, I've been a long time fan of all things japanese, and I was indoctrinated into martial arts from a young age so it has kind of stuck with me, and still have a liking for things like anime series where there are some quite interesting shoes. Fast approaching forty I'm a bit old for cosplay but like to have my own style with a love of heels and liking for mix of classic and futurist styles. I'm not a shoe collector, probably only own a dozen, but they are all high heels. I would like to find or make a pair of okomo, but anyway Hi! ;)

Welcome to hhplace, kunoichi ;) While I'm not positive, I don't believe we've had a high heel wearing female ninja amongst our members before. However, we have had some male ninja wannabes, along with several serious "treckies" (where's francis when you need him?}. It's going to be interesting reading your posts and, I would guess, also a lot of fun. ;)

Being mentally comfortable in your own mind is the key to wearing heels in public.

Well, flat boots are more practical for that kind of thing (and it was some time ago, when I discovered dance at university I soon became tired of the bruises). It's difficult to come up with a webname that doesn't sound silly. I've been trying to find a search field in the forum so I don't start a thread that has already been created by someone else but can't find it ;) Is 'search' only available from the toolbar?

Hi Kunoichi, Welcome to the board. Cambridge is a great place, just love it for the diversity and compactness. Nice to have another lady on board, the guys round here will appreciate your honest opinions. Have fun here, Simon.

Are you confusing me with someone who gives a damn?

Kunoichi:-) That's quite an interesting introduction that you made. Welcome to the Forum and it is very nice to have another female here to tell us all of her exploits in high heels. I'm sure that you have some interesting stories to tell. Cheers--- Dawn HH

Thanks ;) I'm more of a fan of all things Japanese, so thought I best explain the name. It is more difficult to find shoes I like, when it goes against fashion, much as I like my heels a lot of my stilletos have been ruined just walking over footbridges here and the gaps between paving stones. I wish I could find some chunkier heels that weren't all goth or emily and her black cat.

Kunoichi,

Difficult to find, I know what you mean though. I am aware that Terry de Havilland, the guy behind Archie Eyebrows (shoes in my avatar) is working on a range of cuban heeled shoes for girls. This should be what you want, but it isn't released yet. Why not email them and ask how they are getting on? info@archieeyebrows.co.uk is the address.

Cheers,

Simon.
