If you for example compare Norway and Switzerland with huge GDPs per head with the emerging countries in Eastern Europe, you will find that the latter ones are much more keen on heels. They are more aspirational, both in fashion and career. Also here in NY, in the city you might have a good heel crop, but 50 miles out sneaker is king again. What's all the fuss about?
