miss-mermaid Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Hello, I have a pair of stilletto boots with heels that have been really badly worn down, Tips are completely out of the question for repair. They're my favourite, most comfy pair, and I can't find anything similar!! Does anybody know where I can buy a pair of replacement heels in order to fix them? I'm also interested in trying to make a pair of shoes, and would like to have the heels for this. Thank you!
shoerepairer Posted December 11, 2008 Posted December 11, 2008 Tips are completely out of the question for repair. Are you sure? mosy shoes of this design can be repaired, a competent repairer can drill out the old heel pins, level & replace the heel tips. Lee Repair Reuse Recycle. Cobbler it.
miss-mermaid Posted December 11, 2008 Author Posted December 11, 2008 they've already had that done once, and where they used to be 3-4 inches, I've worn them down to about 1 now blatant shoe abuse I know! i kept thinking I'll get them fixed before I wear them again, and then doing it again until they were ruined.
Stilettoscot Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 So, how can you walk in 1" heels when the boot's made for 3-4"?? Seems like your toes would pointing up... Walking in ultra-highs because it's exciting...and it is!!
miss-mermaid Posted December 13, 2008 Author Posted December 13, 2008 not v well, they really need fixing. they got v badly worn down the last time I wore them.
Guy N. Heels Posted December 13, 2008 Posted December 13, 2008 Any competent cobbler can replace the heels. They even have replacement heels in various heights for the purpose. So if it is a question of replacing the heels or tossing the boots, find a good repair shop and get the heels replaced! But first be sure the cobbler knows what he's doing. Ask if he's done that kind of work before and if so ask for references; a good repair shop will gladly furnish such answers. Then after you save the boots, QUIT ABUSING them! Every time you do something that requires extensive work, you diminish the chances of repairing them again. Remember that even a good cobbler still has to have something to work with, but abuse is the sure ticket to the dumpster. Keep on stepping, Guy N. Heels
