  1. I have several pairs of Pleasers including pleather and leather and am quite pleased for the most part. Most are 5-inchers and one pair has 5.75" heels. The 8220s in particular are very flexible. One word of caution: they tend to be on the tight side, so unless you like a tight fit, go up a half size or a full size from what you normally wear. In my case, I went with size 11, since that's what I normally wear, and have had to use a stretcher on the left shoe in each case. Beyond that, they're great-looking shoes and are easy to walk in once they're broken in.

  2. My feelings are pretty much the same as what has already been mentioned. In addition, I find the sight of a heel popping out of a black stiletto pump, an arch winking out with each step, a shoe dangling from a sexy foot, and a foot slipping in and out of a stiletto pump most appealing.

  3. Dress codes were relaxed considerably when I entered high school in the fall of 1971, so much so that girls were allowed to wear pants all year long, not just during the winter months. Classic stiletto pumps were virtually nowhere to be found, however. When I used to substitute teach, I would see classic pumps being worn quite often by high school coeds, although no one wore 5" heels. Four inches was the maximum heel height I saw.

  4. Let's see how many I can remember. Gail O'Grady wore stiletto heels a lot on American Dreams, a family drama set in the 60s. Jenna Elfman regularly wears stilettos on Courting Alex. Markie Post wore sexy black stilettos as a guest star on Cheers. Heels were a staple during rose ceremonies on The Bachelor, although I would have liked to have seen classic black pumps more often. High heels were very commonly seen on 1960s TV shows. A few examples: Connie Hines wore them a lot on Mister Ed. Rose Marie regularly wore stilettos on The Dick Van Dyke Show. So did Mary Tyler Moore, although she stuck to lower heel heights. TV moms Barbara Billingsley and Donna Reed were regularly seen cleaning house in heels. At the very end of one Donna Reed episode, Donna's foot slips out of her shoe as she squats down to hug a dog.
