I had a little shopping trip in Banbury with Mrs F on the way home from the weekend in Shropshire, not in heels unfortunately. In New Look I spotted and bought a pair of kitten heel wellies, for a fiver I just had to have them. They're surprisingly comfortable and quite fetishy. Today we went to Leather Lane market. I put on a pair of pointy toe 4" stiletto ankle boots with the zip up the back when I was on the district line (it's getting too easy). I didn't get any reaction whatever - apart from Mrs F when I met her. She was a little uneasy as she'd just seen a colleague. There wasn't much in the shoe stalls, although I saw another guy get lucky with a pair of faith wedge sandals. It's surprising how many men you see buying heels! And why not too. Another first for me was trying a ladies blouse on in a street market, shame it didn't fit - and the one I did buy looks much better on Mrs F than it does on me - so it's hers. I didn't want to take my boots off, but at about 6.30 pm when there were only about four people on our floor I put them back on. I worked for another half hour or so without my boss Dave noticing, this is no good I thought so just as he was leaving I said "what do you think of my boots". Dave's gay and very stylish and I was pleased with his reaction, " Oh my goodness, very snazzy - especially with the trousers. I can't wear them - I once wore 2" heels on a marble floor and slid all over the place" I'm wondering what he's going to say to my colleagues tomorrow. They've already noticed and complimented me on my 1 1/2" wedges. This may not be the place for it, but if anyone fancies meeting up for a quick hour shopping at lunch time pm me. I don't want to put this on the heel meet board as I don't want to organise anything as it could be a lot of hassle and I don't have many weekends free or much leave left.

He was probably envious!(he was either thinking it was weird I was wearing ladies boots or thinking how brave I was! ).

Any more London shopping exploits to tell us about? I did check the Next sale in a couple of outlets, but nothing decent left in a size 8UK (42EUR)
I go shopping about once a week - a couple of weeks ago I had my next courts in my bag but didn't find a quiet place to put them on. Oxford St tube station had a few thuggish looking people hanging around so I thought better of changing in public. Shame - also the end of the sales didn't have anything worth buying. I'm sure I spotted a fellow male heel wearer in Dolcis Oxford Street. Had I had my courts on I might have introduced myself. He was browsing the new stock quite intensely.
That's the preamble to yesterday's shopping. I was determined to wear my pumps - next's size 41 is small - they're more like a 7. At least they're snug. So I put them on on the district line and changed at Westminster. I didn't recon on the metal floor in the interchange. I was so noticeable click click click - then I clocked a short haired young man in a replica football strip - isn't it funny how people of my age associate short hair with anti-social behaviour?!
I had a fairly uneventful browse up Oxford St from Bond St tube to Marble arch and back to Victoria on the bus. I didn't want to take them off, but sat on the back seat of the bus in the centre.
I had a strange double take in Selfridges I noticed the eyes of an assistant move back and forth to my feet about four times as I passed.
There was nothing to spend my hard earned cash on. And a major disappointment I was expecting to go back to a really cheap clearence shop where I'd bought a couple of tops for a fiver - one for me and one for mrs f - but it was closed - I suppose it was a closing sale. I had to content myself with buying her a pair of trousers in H&M although I said they were for me.
I expect I'll be out again -

Well I got along to New Look and bought Mrs. F a pair (in black) - on the basis that it's better to give than to receive, and I'll get a lot of pleasure seeing her wear them. Fortunately she was delighted with them - certainly more delighted than had I bought myself another pair - and they look stunning on her. Not much more I can say apart from thank you Wheels for your post and picture.

Those are lovely wedges - I want them! I'd have never thought they were from new look, I'll certainly be going there very soon.

Morning Guys, I'm sorry I haven't got any pictures, I'm a bit of a luddite, no digital camera and a computer that's too old to have broadband. I was saving up my photos to send them off and get a disc back and see what I could do with it, but Mrs F sent them off without me knowing and didn't get a disk, there were some nice shoe pictures too. A picture's worth a thousand words, but in one sentence my new courts are round toed, black and with a stiletto heel that curves gracefully forward from the top to bottom. I bought size 7 which Next have down as 41 but they had 42's as well. I wore them as far as the King's Road but when I bought my boots I wore them. BTW smudgur the branch was Victoria Street, just next to Westminster Cathedral.

I've had a couple of lunchtime shopping sprees recently, quite near my office which has made it all the more fun. I can't remember really why I was out of the office lunchtime last week or where I went - which probably isn't a very good state of affairs or a good way to start a post which is intended to be a story. I know I'd had a look in the sales in Oxford Street and found nothing, H&M and Top Shop disappointed - I'm always looking for a crisp white blouse with feminine cuffs and black camisoles to wear underneath. .........On Monday this week I got soaked on the way to the station, I ride the mile there on my bike. I thought I'd get less wet in five minutes of cycling than 15 minutes of walking. I was wrong! The only thing for it was the next sale on the way into work. Bought a smart pair of pin stripe trousers, that said next jeans on them but more like the bottom half of a suit. I noticed a ladies shoe sale - had a quick look and coveted a pair of 4" courts for £12.49 but didn't have time to buy them. When I got into work I thought about them and knew I must have them, I also knew it was ages since I've street heeled and was missing it so much. Do you guys sometimes walk to work and see a pair of shoes and wish you had them on. So I brought forward a trip to examine a bus stop in Chealsea that I intended to do in the afternoon to just before lunch - a quick trip to the bank to get cash, I can't use my cards at the moment as I had a scam attempt from a paypal clone and my card suppliers recommended blocking them. Then back to next tried on and bought the shoes - lovely and a white blouse. I've more or less given that to Mrs F, it looks better on her! But we share everything xx. On to the number 11 bus, got out my lovely new shoes, took the label off the bottom and slipped them on. Lovely, my feelings of joy were tempered by the fact that I'd have to get down the stairs. I hate the new straight staircase design on london buses. I think in objective terms people will say a straight stair case is better but on a moving bus a spiral is much easier to negociate because there are far more hand holds. Passing through the King's Road I got off for a look in the shops there. It's much more fun shoe shopping in heels. I'd forgotten the feeling you get on the balls of your feet, must wear heels more often. I am a naughty man - I ended up in Nine - West and succombed to a pair of mid calf boots, with quite a chunky rounded heel pointy toe and heavy stitching. Quite a masculine look and again 70% off. Because of my lack of cash I couldn't buy the stiletto knee boots I saw, I'll have to go back later. So I ended up with a lot to carry. I ended up in Fulham, where I sorted out my bus stop and encountered the two young ladies who complimented me on my footwear, described elsehwere. .... I'll have to tell Mrs. F! and the Next courts are in my desk drawer awaiting my courage to parade around the office. I don't think I will take them home, I'll keep them there and at least if I want to go shopping I've got some nice shoes to put on. I can't get enough of shoe shopping, it's so wonderful, the next best thing is shopping for clothes wearing heels.

I might have in the dim and distant past! Compliments are only ok if they have the ring of truth about them. Men are much more reticent than women, I was out in a pair of 4" Nine West boots Monday lunchtime - Fulham broadway - I wasn't aware that anyone noticed my footwear, I wore a fairly non descript green shirt, and new pin striped jeans that looked more like the bottom of a suit. Within a couple of minutes of each other one woman said "nice shoes" I responded with a quite pleased with my self thank you and she smiled and said Your welcome. That was in the tube station just out on the street another woman remarked Good Shoes, but she was just trying to get my attention, she was touting for a charity. But it gave me a little boost. If I were single I'd wear heels far more often... But getting back to the thread, for a man it's so rare to get a compliment from an attractive woman that it gives you a boost and we don't find it creepy, but I'm sure it could be a bit scary if it came in a persistant way from the wrong woman.

I've just got my linn LP12 back from the repairers, it had a nasty accident when my daughter stupidly mistook it for something she could scratch on. So that was the end of the power supply and motor. Had it replaced with an Origin Live off board power supply and the results are amazing.

I agree, I often think too long or too little before I post. I intended to say writing takes considerably longer than reading if you think about what you post - but then thought it might be taken as criticism of other posters, an impression I was keen not to create. Often people express themselves very well and there isn't much to add.I don't always have anything to say. "Me too" is a waste.

Eric, no one can accuse you of last minute planning!

I'm not sure it does take the same time to read as it does to write. I haven't posted anything here for months, I come and read about once a week on average, but I do wonder how much time people spend posting on forums. I sometimes have a quick look in work, but there's a report sent to my boss of every site I look at and for how long, so I make sure to spend more time on buslistsontheweb.co.uk than hhplace. Good job I work in a liberal & socially inclusive organisation. I'm sneaking in five minutes before I go to work!

Nice story Loveheel, it's fun when you get a sales assistant who's all over you. A nice change from those who want to get you out asap. I had a nice time yesterday lunchtime at Faith in Wimbledon where I was looking at the dog end of the sale. Extra 20% off. Not much left, but a lot of larger sized boots, I tried one on and a young male assistant came over and offered to get the pair of anything I wanted, he came back with a brochure of shoes up to size 9. I bought a pair of 4.5" knee boots, and got into a bit of a conversation with him. He said they had a couple of guys who shopped there regularly. He complimented me on my confidence, which pleased me greatly. I said I'm nearly 50 if I can't do what I want now it's a poor show.

Two short stories both vaguely relevant: I was going into my local station one morning and a young man in working clothes looked down at my feet and back up again with obvious contempt on his face. No - I haven't got heels on, no - my nylons aren't showing - oh I've got socks on - that was it, I'd left my cycle clips on! There's so many things that ignorant people cant accept. I was just finishing a successful lunchtime shopping trip - received compliments etc. when whilst walking along Fulham Broadway underground platform I heard " oh my god" behind me. Here we go I thought and looked beind me to see three small boys with a camera phone. What they were photographing was a pigeon that had no feet and was walking around on his stumps - poor thing.
