  1. The main reasons I wear high heels is because they look much better than men's shoes and it makes me feel good. When I go out in heels I stay in the pocket, because I want to avoid nrgative attention. On the other hand, I would be pleased to receive some positive remarks. The reality is that I don't get any reactions at all. But you can't be noticed only by the open minded people with sincere interest.

  2. A few months ago I tried to login again after a long time. But it did not work. I tried to reset the pw but did not receive an email with the confirmation link. So i decided to create a new account. But once again, no email with confirmatin link. So I guess they have enough members....

  3. Anyone else really like ballet flats?

For some reason I think they look really cute on a girl.

I eventually broke down and ordered me a pair; they feel really cool to wear for some reason.

    Please share stories.

You took a "huge risk" with this poll in a high heels forum :wavey:

But I dare to admit I like them too ! I have two pairs, in white and black.

  4. I started to wear heels when I was already "old" at 34. But my story goes back to my early days anyway. As a young boy I had (and still have) a passion for flip-flops and wooden exercise sandals like the dr. Scholl's. Heels did not attract me at that time. In the late 90's I was browsing the Internet about wooden sandals and I found a lot of pics of wooden slides with heels. And the more I watched these pics, the more I got the desire to try them myself. So I bought my first pair online which had 2.5 inch heels. I was so excited that I wanted more of them and also with higher heels. Since that moment my passion has gone wider to other kind of heels like knee high boots, pumps, and since last year, ankle boots.

  5. I too only did it one time. I was with my female friend and we stopped into a club for a quick drink. I was wearing my thighboots over my jeans with a very long sweater. Even though I was with my female friend, there were some rude comments (there were some compliments, too) and both of us were uncomfortable. We weren't there very long. We weren't physically approached, but sometimes verbal confrontation can even be more intimidating.

You need to know familiar with bars and pubs to know what kind of people you can expect.

Some have different kind of people with open minds. There it's no problem to be a bit "different" as a guy in heels. But other bars can be pretty closed communities with people of a certain kind. Those can better be avoided.

  6. Only have 5 pairs at the moment. Always on the lookout for more. They get alot of use since I use them exclusively for public heeling. Especially these...

They're amazingly comfortable and supportive. 4" heel. I can wear them all day. Just right for me[/quote

Watching the picture of these ankle boots, I feel the desire to get the same ones....

I have 4 pairs of heeled boots right now, including one pair of ankle boots which I bought a few months ago. And now I ask myself how it is possible that i have neglected ankle boots for such a long time.....

  7. Hi Stilettopete, First of all, congratulations with this milestone ! Reading about first (or second) public outings is always nice as they remind me about my own first attempts. But your story I like especially. I had and sometimes still have the same thoughts going through my mind. You got some great ankle boots for a nice price, and as you have noticed, they are much easier for public heeling. The more confident you feel in them, the better it works. Keep on wearing them.

  8. Why does it seem like questions like this always wind up being some sort of contest?

I don't have the same impression. Reading the answers we can see the differences and also the individual arguments why some of us can handle 5 or 6" and others stay lower. But is that bad ? I have not seen any contributions of "very high heelers" who think they are better than the low heelers. At least I don't feel defeated when I leave my comfort czone at 4"

  9. I agree that during the day time hours is the best time. You just have to be a little more cautious at night and as to wear you go while wearing high heels.

For sure a good advise. After dark is not necessarily a problem, but than you need to know where you're going. However, it can be a very nice experience wearing heels in public after dark.

In november I had a business appointment in Düsseldorf, Germany. The meeting ended at 17.00 and it was already getting dark. I had some time left and decided to change in to my 3" boots and drive to the city center. It was quite busy with people because the shops were open until 21.00. I walked around for a few hours, checked out some multimedia shops. I noticed how easily I could walk in these heels, which gave me a lot of confidence wearing them in public. Even after dark, it was a great day!

  10. Very nice boots legs777777 :-)

A $50000 question to all boot lovers ( Me included :wavey: )

    - Is there a cure or treatment to prevent us from always buying more boots ?

A treatment or cure, no. But Legs777777 gave the answer already:

    "Last new pair of boots, before I get locked up for buying to many pairs" (-;

  11. And that's why I stopped wearing heels in public. I don't ever want to find myself on YouTube or sites like PeopleofWalmart.com.

I understand your concern, SandalFan. I would not want to end up in a similar situation. But to give up street heeling completely to avoid the risk ? I think we can have some control by carefully choosing what to wear. With my black 3" heeled boots under my jeans it does not look as extravagant as with white thigh-high boots. I have a pair of white boots too but I keep them inside. That's the choice we have.

  12. Very hot shoes!!! But yes, the price tag..... Can't look in your wallet, you are the one who can judge if you can afford it or not. But if you can, just go for it!
