  1. Hi all,

I thought I would go to London today, as I've heard all the positive things that have gone on with everyone. I thought I make the effort and go wearing high(ish) heels and not take any others with me, I also work skinny jeans so the boots were on the outside - I've seen a lot of fashion that knee boots will be in for winter this year, so I thought I'd be ok. I set off this morning and parked up at Earls' court. I got out of the car and walked to the tube station, a few looks, but not a lot, on the tube - off at Kensington High Street. Definite looks, but nothing to worry about - all the shoe shop assistants were happy to help and didn't bat an eyelid. Going good!

Next onto the tube and across to Oxford St... What a disaster constant looks, one woman even stopped dead in front of me and looked like she was going to be sick, she screwed up her face and reeled like I punched her. My confidence collapsed, but I was 4 miles form the car. I decided to head back. I managed to get my jeans over my boots, although you could clearly see the 3 in wedge heel. This made a difference - people noted it and smiled to themselves but no more looks of horror. Anyway back home now and next time I go heeling in London - I'll be much, much more discreet!

Not sure how to attach an image to the new site but here a pic of very similar boots I found on the web (mine are a little lower)

  2. You know it's funny, Camben is one of the few places in london, I've had a shocked assistant when I've asked to try on shoes. There aren't that many shoe shops in Canden, BUT the ones they have are well worth visiting. There is an Aldo Clearence shop, and a couple of places sell a good rage of Pleaser shoes and the like, plus if you keep heading up past the bridge, there are a few more shops up that way.

  3. Love the 9west red boots, so smart & stylish, goes well with the look. Rest are cool, but the reds take it for me. So then, this Buddah Bar, no Lebanese Blond by Thievery Corporation in the music line up? Shame... Still wanna go though!

  4. I was up in the city yesterday.

Always good to see what shops are where. As usual Oxofrd St & South Molton St are goos shoe shopping areas, but this site is very helpful.

Camden, for a few "alternative" shoes (and Aldo Liquidation).

I also want to whitechapel to go to Unze shoes http://www.unze.co.uk/ the most bejewelled shoes I've ever seen, that branch had about 6 pairs of boots in (cracking heels!). My only dissapointment was the sniggers and gilggles from the guy shop assistants. A woman served me and shooed them away - realising, I was about to leave. Very poor attitude.
