  1. Belated Congratulations from me as well. Now you have the really hard choice of which bike to go for. Somehow bike are like shoes, you can never have enough of them. Remember shiny side up and greasy side down - and watch out for diesel on roundabouts and near petrol stations. Has you off quicker than ice. Main thing about bikes, you don't really care where you are going just the pleasure of getting there. I often take the long way just to prolong the pleaure of the ride. Quite the opposite of driving a car. Simon

  2. Simple thing is to acquire a pair of heel covers that ballroom dancers wear. Ballrooms are really precious about their wooden floor, so they are a must for ladies dancing in heels. You can get them from here.

    Simon.

  3. Cinnamon, I for one am sorry to read of your experience. I do hope you have passed on the PM to the MOD team so they can take the appropriate action with this man. I certainly cannot even think of prefacing it with Gentle. THis sort of behaviour to my mind is totally unacceptable where ever it occurs, but more so on HHP. We have precious few female members, and we do not need to have them driven away. Nice to see you back around BTW, and I for one do miss your contributions. Don't stay away so long - please. Simon.

  4. Scrappy, glad you opened this one up. This did the rounds in 2008, but back then the girls were excluded, which is a great shame, so I am very pleased to see they are getting stuck in on this. So far there is little little to choose between. AFAIAC, all legs shows thus far could easily model hosiery, which makes me wonder just what we see on the billboards. Best legs so far - my opinion only - Maximillian, I can't really differentiate between the rest although Amanda's do seem to go on just forever :) Keep at it, and I hope to join in next week. Mind you I was at the back of the queue when legs were handed out and got a pair that should have been on a Chicken! Simon.

  5. I reckon you're in front here!

    ROFL!

Actually it would be really good for the girls to get stuck into this as then we can see which gender really does have the better leg shape. Dare the girls challenge us?

Max, Neat trick using the three mirrors to get the all round view. Excellent leg shape showing in the right hand mirror.

Scrappy, the poses don't do justice to your pins. Nice outfit, but still would prefer another material other than denim for the skirt. As my other half always says, Black and Blue will never do.

    Simon.

  6. Hi BrianF, Welcome to HHP, hope you have a happy time with us. Read through the threads by JeffB, Kneehighs, Maximillian, and several others and you will see that you can do what you say men can not. First and foremost it is a mind thing as it really is a big jump to get past your social programming. Secondly having achieved that leap, you need to study the whole look you present to the world when you walk out of the door so the whole thing looks right. Thirdly, dress appropriate to the time of day and/or event you are going too. Take a recent post in "For the Guys" by Malinheels of Melbourne. Dressed appropriate to the event (according to the ladies and not the men attending) and he had an absolute ball. The possibilities are there, but you have to make them for yourself. The more that do, then the more will do likewise. Enjoy whatever you choose to do. Simon.

  7. Now I wonder how often a mans legs are used to model hosiery. As has often been demonstrated in pictures on this site, and scrappy you are no exception, mens legs generally look better than womens legs. I have overheard my wife saying this about my legs (accompanied by the phrase "damn him" tee heee). I presume it is because we have greater muscle mass in the calf and as long as this is not overly excessive then it looks better that the usual chicken legs often sported by women. Personally the larger calf mass absolutely begs to be on top of a pair of heels as they tone up if you know what I mean. Now I am a fan of skirted garments and when it is hot (rare in the UK) then my Kikoy (a type of African Male tribal wear - Google it) comes out and I am one comfortable guy. However, I don;t think I will be taking up a skirt as a general idea anytime soon. Scrappy, carry on doing what you are doing - its great that guys want to do as you do. However, I would say that your new heels, being patent demand a skirt that is a little more formal than one made of denim as that material rather begs to be casual. I always prefer JeffB's look when he pairs his denim skirt with a pair of loafers rather than heels - it looks more natural to me (same for a girl in a denim skirt too, but thats my view). No doubt its quite a challenge to get the look right, and depending upon your thoughts, you may consider Heel-lover's words. He has demonstrated a rather sharp look with the skirt suit which would sit well with your new shoes. Some don't like the juxtaposition of male/female which I understand and respect, however, I rather do as it is very striking and really does make a statement. There is no doubt it is rather a shock with the male top and female bottom but it is dramatic. Then again the blending style demonstrated by Kneehighs really works very well too (and again your shoes would fit perfectly in that style) although it is not a skirted look. Just depends on where you wish to go. As to the jeans, I feel they are a lilttle too baggy to work with the heels. A tighter, bootflare cut would be more flattering than the loose fit pictured. Thus I have refrained from voting as my preference is not an option. Main thing is you are enjoying the freedom of choice. Simon.

  8. Guilty as charged. Apologies. Moving on. Concerning the gel pads, yes they are a good thing and I have used them myself. I do find they do move as the little sticky pad and the heat and moisture in the shoe don't help at all. Maybe just my experience. Solution was once I had found the right position and that really is sopmething you have to find out for yourself, then I superglued them in. I also invested in some heel grips. Two types out there, gell and suede. I have had much better results with the suede type over the gel ones. Suede being unafected by the heat or any moisture whereas the gel get slippy as soon as there is any moisture around. Simon

  9. Mal,

Great story and you back up Kneehighs own tales.

Like comedy, its all about timing, and it appears you were spot on. I'm sure I speak for many in requesting you post a pic or two of your outfit.

What impresses me more than anything is you doing this at your declared age. I guess your flying solo right now, and I must admit that were I flying solo then these fine examples would spur me into doing likewise.

all the other guys are looking around wondering why is this guy wearing askirt & high heels so popular.

But did they put it together - the signals you were sending were clear, and nothing intrigues a woman more than something out of the ordinary, but tastefully put together. Cats are very inquisitive animals and this is why women are often compared with them (IMHO).

Your example, added to the others posted here should really inspire the younger men to do likewise. No finer way to find a partner that is happy with your enjoyment of heels and fashion than by demonstrating it.

    Rep point from me.

    Simon.

  10. Scrappy, I do have to agree with Vik, The juxtaposition of M&F is fine, but to me the loose T top is incompatible with the lower more formal skirt/hose/heels. Look at Kneehighs shirts and jacket combos and you will have a much better look. Keep up with the experimentation though Simon

  11. Peter, Those are nice boots, however, since you are new to streetheeling and I woudln't want your confidence to take a knock, I would save these for a while yet. Its not the height, thats just fine, rather the heel is rather thin and you would need to be very careful of foot placement. A wide heel would be a much better bet so you don't have to be so careful of where you step. Believe me that you still come across problems in a 50mm D shape heel that if you not careful you stumble - its happened to me several times. The spotting of problems underfoot will take time to become second nature so a wide heel will help. The thing people notice is someone moving in an unnatural way and on anything other than a perfect surface, thin heels and being a kind of novice will make them wonder. It will also be a strain on you as well so your walking about will not be either second nature to you or a pleasure. I would suggest you find a pair of 7cm - 10cm heels that have a 25mm D shape minimum and a cuban(ish) style. They are out there if youo look hard enough They look perfect on a man and will give you the confidence to handle high heels. This applies just as much to women as it does to men as a woman who can't walk in 10cm stiletto heels, and I have seen many who can't, just looks wrong. Keep on getting out in your heels. Its fun and enjoyable. Simon

  12. DBert, AMEN brother! So right. If you are going to do it, then head up and work it. After all this is the confidence thing that you are demonstrating. You look right and comfortable then whilst you will get those looks, it will be of surprise initially and then the thought may well enter their minds "Looks kinda good" or similar. Looking well dressed and incorporating heels in a sensible manner as part of the overall look is exactly the way to get others thinking that they could well do the same. Kudos - rep point to you. Simon.

  13. DBert, The jeans look scruffy, the trousers look much much better, nice clean lines. Could be a tad longer 1/2" say, so they just break on the fron of the shoe a little more, but definitely a better look 9as other have said). No point in wearing scruffy clothing, it really isnt a fashion statement. The clean lines present a much better look. Sadly there are no mens bootcut formal trousers in the shops, so look at the womens trousers, you will be pleasantly surprised how well they do fit (once you get used to no pockets and the left hand zipper). The hang much better with heels too. They should after all as they are cut to do so. The choice of heel is fine, maybe a tad thin for my own preference as I think the thicker heel (smallest being a 1" D shape IMHO) is much more in keeping with a masculine look. Far more stable than a stiletto, but not too clumpy. Nice choice. Simon.

  14. Teckno, Firstly, welcome to the board. Secondly, shoe sizing, its a black art or so it seems. Priceless/Barratts/Discountshoestore is a good place to start though. You can order shoes to bracket your size if you are not sure (as you would in a shoe shop) then return those which do not fit. They credit you quickly too. You sound like my foot size which is a snug male 43. Mens shoes don't have to fit particularly well and with thick socks, this can really change your shoe size and width. On the other hand, womens shoes need to fit well otherwise they constantly slip off and in any form of heel this is a disaster and very tiring to wear. I now wear exclusively womens socks or kneehighs (popsocks) and so I found myself going down from eu44 to eu43 in mens. In ladies I really need a 44 unless it is a wide fitting, then a eu43 usually works. Don't loose heart, just go back to discount/priceless/barrets and order away. Watch out for Pleaser though. Their last width changes at US12/US13 from a womens width to a mans width. Their 12 is too tight - just for me whereas their 13 is like a boat due to the width. I would suggest a US12 as a slingback for Pleaser products. Simon.

  15. Hi Matt,

Well, when I say dangerous, and as you have elaborated a little, your actions of borrowing others footwear will get you noticed as your using their shoes will change the feel of them to the owner. You are demonstrating that in your mind you feel you are doing something wrong. You must stop using other footwear and get your own, even if it is only one pair as it is a much safer way.

I would also say that your actions mean that heels and I rather suspect this means stiletto heels are "fetish" in nature to you rather than "fashion". This will lead to you supressing your desire to wear heels, and you may well not get a partner who is open minded enough to accept your love of heels coupled with wearing them. Far better to redirect your interest in heels to those you can wear when you want without feeling like you are an outcast of society. Anyway you will spend so much on shoes you throw away, its almost criminal.

Get yourself a pair of 3" cowboy boots from this Fleabay reseller. sendra45 (respected member and moderator) recommends him. Wear the boots with your jeans and normal guy wear. Two benefits in doing this 1) You get to wear heels a lot at a height that will not restrict your walking. 2) You'll look good and feel good about yourself. I bet you will get nothing but good comments about your boots. Why cowboy boots, well precisely because they are exactly what they say they are cowBOY boots. People will accept you wearing heels without a thought.

Now go and read Kneehighs thread as I suggested before and see just how he incorporated heels into his routine. Its a lot to read and digest, but if you want to wear heels, his way is just how to do it.

Above all enjoy wearing your heels, no matter what the shape.

    Simon

  16. Yozz, That sums it up nicely, certainly for me anyway. If I want to wear a nice pair of stiletto heels, then I go en-femme precisely because in CD mode, I fit into the place society expects. Otherwise for heels and bob mode, its 3" cubans or blocks to which no one seems to notice at all. If they do, I don't care as my mind sees 3" block or cuban heels as very masculine, and it is a mind thing. Simon.

  17. Scrappy, Sounds like one saleslady you need to see again. Could well help you define your look. You'll become the 2nd Kneehighs perhaps. BTW, the MBT trainers are wonderful. They really improve your posture. Swear by mine. Simon.

  18. Hi Matt, Welcome to the best board on the net. Your story is so familiar, and it is repeated many times by other posters. What is your goal? What shoes do you like? What would you NOT consider wearing? Etc Etc. Depending upon these answers, you will be able to judge for yourself how long the uphill struggle in your own mind will be to feel comfortable about heel wearing. Should you be interested in all forms of high heels, then this will allow you to consider the multitude of, quite frankly, utilitarian heeled shoes that women wear daily. Block and Cuban heels rule on these types of shoes. These are quite frankly very easy to get away with in general wear. As a young man - I wish for myself - then you would do well to read through the adventures of Kneehighs Thread. His thread is a wonderful diary showing his progress in heel wearing and latterly just how potent a tool they can be to have a real good social life. Study all the poiniters in his thread and you won't go far wrong. With luck you will find the right lady to partner you who loves your unique style. You are lucky in that with the internet you have the resource of such groups as HHP to discuss. This was not the case 25 years ago and I know that had it been available, then it would have made a huge difference to us older types who really cannot get away with it like you can. Still I am enjoying what I do now. Don't think you are alone - far from it as HHP demonstrates. Wearing heels is fun, but you should always consider the whole look, not just the fact of wearing heels. It is a fashion thing primarily and if you have that mindset, then you'll be just fine. This is something that will be with you for the rest of your life. Embrase the fact, don't fight it, and for goodness sake don't throw your shoes away because you think its wrong. Repressing your wish to wear high heels of whatever type is a recipie for turning heel wearing into a potentially dangerous (for you) fetish. It would probably be a good idea - if it is possible for you - to go tp the next heel meeting in Bristol as you will meet like minded people and get a better idea of just how to incorporate heels into your wardrobe. Don't be bashful around here, we love heels of all types, and dearly want others to enjoy what we all do - wearing high heels. Simon.

  19. Kneehighs:-)

You certainly like to live dangerously.

    Snip....

I don't really see KH as living dangerously, he knows his turf well, dresses appropriately for the time of day and occasion. Basically he is practicing what he preaches and is having a hell of a time doing it. This is the real secret - right look, right place, right time. If you went to the Rocky Horror show, a man in heels, skirt etc is expected rather than odd, in fact if you didn't dress up in some way it would certainly be out of place.

So many members wail about wanting to wear their heels, yet do nothing about it. KH is a superb example of freedom of expression through fashion. The girls love a guy who shows this as there is common ground for conversation - no macho rubbish. A guy doing this is IMHO very in touch with his feminine side and that is often mistaken for being gay.

KH is a wolf in sheeps clothing and is highly successful in being so. Others should take note and do likewise. Admittedly it really helps living in a cosmopolitan city, but those who do should take full advantage of it, the rewards it can bring, and stop moaning.

Keep enjoying yourself KH, the less that do as you do, means little competition for you.

    Simon.
