  1. As a newboy of only a few weeks to this site, I am surprised and a little saddened at just how many ideas (like this Paris one) seem to start getting talked about and then just fizzle out! Nothing AT ALL has been said on this page for WELL OVER A YEAR! That's sad.....what is it?........it's VERY SAD. Well, here we are in June 2003 with the Oxford Meet to look forward to on 12th July 2003. Once that's been and gone, and we start looking ahead to further meets, how about resurrecting Paris, Huh? ................ Huh? ................. Howsaboutit? ...............Huh? ........ Waddayareckon? ............... HUH? Cheers for now! Heelfan

  2. This 'London Meet' page has gone dead since May 2002, but perhaps once we've got the imminent Oxford Meet (12th July 2003) behind us, we can talk about a few meet possibilities for the second half of 2003, including London. Huh? Wadd'yasay folks, Huh? ...........Huh? ISLEBEESEEINGYUH! Cheers, Heelsfan.

  3. Several of us have arranged to attend the Oxford Meet on 12th July 2003 (see under its own heading). Once we've got that behind us, it will be nice if we can discuss plans for other meets, including one to the Kinky Boot Factory (divine Shoes) near Northampton. ISLEBEESEEINGYUH! Cheers, Heelfan.

  4. Irrespective of WHAT your neck colour is (can't believe we've ended up focussing on necks on this heel forum!), why not think positive and join us for our fun shopping/eating/pubbing day: OXFORD MEET, SAT 12th JULY 2003, 10am 'til EVENING, STARTING OUTSIDE OXFORD UNIVERSITY BOOKSHOP, 106 HIGH STREET (ANYONE DELAYED RING FIREFOX ON 07941 172043). Guys and Gals all extremely welcome (heels or no heels!), Cheers, Heelsfan.

  5. Great! Always listen to Firefox everyone, he's got the wisdom of Solomon! Alternatively, SH could always say he's 'Going to an exhibition' - an exhibition of guys in street-heels! At the end of the day SH, remember it's OUR lives, not just our parent's lives. As FF says, coach travel is very cheap these days to London, Nottingham, Birmingham etc. and we've all got to live a little. Until 12th July, our attention is on making the Oxford Meet a success, but thereafter I look forward to joining in these forum discussions on planning the subsequent meet(s). Cheers, Heelfan.

  6. Well, I suppose no UK location is ever going to suit everybody. But just in case anyone has got confused by the above talk of other cities, can I stress that this forthcoming 12th JULY 2003 MEET will firmly be at OXFORD starting at 10am OUTSIDE THE OXFORD UNIVERSITY BOOKSHOP, 106 HIGH STREET (anyone delayed ring Firefox on 07941 172043). GUYS AND GALS most welcome for a fun/shopping/chatting/eating day till evening. Heels nice but not compulsory!. However, after the Oxford Meet, it would be good to review the various other cities recently suggested, and see if further meets can be arranged at some or all of those locations. Birmingham and Nottingham seem to be high on the list, and what about another London meet sometime for those of us who haven't been to one yet? Thoughts? Cheers, Heelsfan.

  7. Yes! Usually frustrating trying to view TV presenters' and actresses' high heels. Have you noticed how just after you get the first tantalising glimpse of them, either the cameraman zooms in and the shoes go out-of-shot, or on chat shows there is always so silly little coffee table or other obstruction obscuring the shoes, or sometimes are little breakfast TV clock or other corner-of-screen logo! In the UK virtually ALL of the actresses in the soap 'East Enders' vie with each other re appearing in the most KNOCKOUT of high heels, but again you get the briefest of frustrating glimpses of these (if you're lucky) before the cameraman makes sure you don't see ANYTHING of anyone's shoes! Heelsfan.

  8. Still viewable on Jenny's Forum, 'Jenny's High Stiletto' site, has been much talk about walking in high stilettos using the 'Catwalk Flip'. Lucy's Story on that forum also mentions it. This is where each heel stays vertically erect to the floor until almost the very end of each stride, (when your body-weight has largely moved forwards off it). At that moment you give the ankle a saucy inward flip, suddenly rolling the stiletto heel inwards. DancerDianne says models and stage performers use it a lot, including her, and Dolly Parton uses it very spectacularly throughout her film 'Straight Talk' (hireable from video shops). As well as on the catwalk, I've noticed various girls using this cheeky flip in everyday street-wearing from time to time, and I must say it looks great - very sensuous! Can we hear from you lady high-heelers on this? Do any of you like to do this saucy Flip, and if so, do you do it as a deliberate action, or did you just find yourself naturally walking that way? I'd be most interested, but either way, it's great girls! From your ever-admiring Heelfan.

  9. Firefox - I suggested Oxford because several budding meeters (including you) had been considering Bristol, Swindon or Oxford in recent months, and then you suggested Oxford because of it's pubs. Being the most UK-central of the three, I hoped Oxford would pull in those Southern members, whilst also being manageable for the Meadowhall contingent. Birmingham is a great idea a central meeting, don't you think it might confuse the July 2003 meet to swap locations yet again so near to the event(?), especially as I've posted OXFORD on your 'Aesthetic' forum and also on Jenny's forum. Now that we have several members have confirmed that they will the Oxford meet, can I suggest letting Oxford it stand for this meet, but keeping Birmingham very high on the list for the one after? If you are agreeable to this suggestion, the only other thing remaining is to post a specific assembly spot for us all to meet at. Can you please post a suggested meeting spot, as I hardly know Oxford? Cheers, Heelsfan.

  10. Girls, it is posted somewhere on these forums that quite a few girls would LIKE to wear seriously high heels, but they are TOO SHY! This notion caught me completely by surprise, because some of us guys understandably have a shyness problem when it comes to wearing high heels in public, but I TOOK IT FOR GRANTED that no women would have the slightest hang-ups if they wanted to do so. It will be fascinating if you girls (no guys please) can tell us if this female heel-shyness does exist, and if so, can you describe what heel-height you would LIKE to be able to aspire to, and also why, as a girl, you should feel too shy to wear them. Yours, Heelsfan.

  11. That's great - we've now got three for starters, and counting! Firefox is coming, Xaphod has just come on board, and I'm the third. (Wearing of heels nice but not compulsory!). Come on all you guys and gals, all-aboard for meeting/fun/shopping/socialising and let's make a really great day of it! Simply post below this message to say you'd like to come, and in good time we'll settle on a meeting time and spot. ALL MOST WELCOME! Cheers, Heelsfan

  12. Your flexibility is as great as the toestraps on my favourite mules! Folks, can we all say finally that Saturday 12th July it is then? Also, can we firm up on say, Oxford? It seems more central to the UK than anywhere else and thus likely to attract the best attendance? Firefox, will everyone manage to spot this buried at the end of 'Meadowhall', or does it deserve a new heading. In fact, aren't everyone's postings re a Summer 2003 Meet being dissipated under too many separate headings ('Meadowhall .....', 'Manchester.....' 'Suggestions for.....' etc.)?. Can I suggest your consolidating all these into just the one new 'UK Meet Summer 2003' heading?. Yours constructively, Heelsfan.

  13. The negotiations on this page for a heel-meet in Bristol or Swindon or Oxford seemed to fizzle-out in January 2003. A topic higher up the list of headings on this Forum is 'Meadowhall, Sheffield meet' in which members have currently been trying to arrange a meet up there. However, these plans seem to have dwindled down to maybe two or three members. Therefore I have just suggested (see under the Meadowhall topic heading) that it might be more successful to re-plan the proposed meet to somewhere more central to the UK like Oxford. Datewise, I am suggesting around the weekend of Sat/Sun 12th/13th July 2003 (although Sundays are difficult for Firefox). I hope this might attract the original people favouring Oxford plus the Northern people as well, and that something can be successfully arranged. Can all those interested please their comments here?

  14. The Meadowhall idea seems to be dwindling down to one or two people due to lack of a mutually convenient date, and it's a shame for Firefox to miss this meet as well. Before you finalise Meadowhall with so few of you remaining, can I suggest a more optimistic alternative?: Note that a few topic-headings down from this one is 'Suggestions for the British Group members'. Various members were trying for a meet in Bristol or Swindon or Oxford, but negotiations appeared to fizzle-out in January 2003. I must admit, Bristol would be great for me personally, but with the whole UK fraternity in mind, wouldn't a transfer to somewhere central to the UK like Oxford stand the best chance of attracting a worthwhile crowd? For a start, it might scoop-up those more Southern members, whilst, I hope, still being accessible to those further North. Also, Firefox was enthusiastic about Oxford ('Nice pubs there'). To give a chance for re-planning and more attenders, could we push the meet date back a bit to about Saturday 12th July or Sunday 13th July (except Sundays aren't good for Firefox)??

  15. As this is the 'Sightings' board, just to let everyone know that this month (May 2003) several great sightings have appeared on Jenny's High Heel Forum. Mel recounts sighting a wearer of 7" stiletto Oxfords in Bristol, and a lady having difficulty getting off a coach in white 5" stilettos and then wobbling towards her with the 'Catwalk Flip' (where the wearer flips each heel dramatically inwards at the very end of each stride). Also another girl describes seeing a woman emerging from Charing Cross Station, London, struggling to walk in beige ankle boots with 5" heels that were much too high for her. She had tilted her ankles inwards so far that the heels were nearer to being horizontal than vertical! The writer says she was momentarily horrified to see how distorted those boots had become, but her boyfriend said with a blush that it was the sexiest thing he had seen for ages. Some sighters have all the luck!

  17. Isn't it always difficult to find a mutually convenient time to meet? My best day (of those proposed) would have been Sunday 29th June. However, Firefox can't do Sundays at present, and Saturday 28th is pretty impossible for me to get to Sheffield from down South. Unless we meet on 29th without Firefox (which would be a great shame being my first time and all), is Saturday 12th July pushing things back too far for everyone?
