  1. Don't you find it sad that, when confronted with something or someone who challenges their perceptions about what is normal or "masculine" some men will act like children and resort to playground behaviour? Perhaps one day the chains of this kind of juvenile thinking will be ripped assunder and men can finally be liberated from themselves, however, whilst these bullies are given free reign I fear we won't see it

  2. Of course, on the driving side of things, it isn't just a case of whether or not you're in heels but also the height, 2.5 inch is nigh on flat for me (and most others no doubt  ) but over 3.5 inch and that can really make a difference in your driving style As for making a difference and educating the masses, if they are open minded that's all too easy, but if they're close minded you aint got a hope in hell's chance, they'll just think you're weird, i'm cool with that though, I think I am anyway B)

  3. Male fashion oppression. mmmmm..... guess you might now what I think on this score B) Anyone remember news reels when charles and diana got married? The press always carped on how great diana looked and lambasted charles for his lack of fashion sense, despite the fact that at formal engagements men are pretty much dictated to as to what we can wear !!! Many women can't understand how men can go to a store and know exactly what we are going to buy clothes wise so i'll explain:- Bottoms - Trouser (smart/casual), Jeans, Chinos, Cords Colours - Black, Blue, Grey, Beige and if you are really luck, Green and Brown (Oh the thrill !!!!) Tops - Tee-shirts (predominantly white, black, blue but there is a little more choice here  ), shirts (smart/casual same as above) shoes - Anything so long as it is flat! I think most would agree that that just about sums up men's fashion B) (If it weren't so funny I think I would cry)

  4. Janise I'm sorry to hear what you went through and believe that it is only right that the man who did that to you get's everything he deserves, no person to go through that (Man or Woman). If anybody has their privacy invaded then they have the right to seek justice, and that goes for being safe in their own homes. I think it is unfair for you to suggest that the darker side of hatred towards women is prevalent on these boards, I myself certainly don't hate women! Personally I think most of the men and women get along well here and trust that moderators would delete anything that would incite hatred of any form. whilst it is true that you posts may have opened many peoples eyes toward the darker side of the human psyche I would say that most of us are only too aware that this sort of thing happens (and as far as i'm concerned once would be once too often), in fact a good female friend of mine has been subject to physical abuse, he got off scot free and she felt she had to quit her job, however, I don't think this is endemic in the male population, in fact most men are decent honest people who are being made to look bad by a minority who have serious mental problems or problem with their anger and agresiveness. This is where we should be concentrating and not pandering to the views of the minority of "Extreme feminist" types who seem to think that all men are animals who should be caged (and I assure you I really do mean minority, I think most women feel that men are on the hole decent and civilised) Insofar as equality is concerned, although this has come on leaps and bounds over the past few decades, yes there is still a lot to do (not least in many of the still male dominated professions), but you must agree that there are some areas where men have some equality to win from women, such as fashion. For example, a woman can choose to wear a skirt of trousers to work, a man can only wear trousers. A woman has the choice of high heels or flats, a man has only flats. Is this truly equal? I think you would agree it is not, and that is what this board is all about, winning a modicum of freedom for men and women both (specifically high heels, and indeed, women are trying just as hard to win freedoms where heels are concerned as some of the posts have proven) and for this reason some of the debates can become heated! I hope everything turns out right for you, and please do come back to let us know, i'm sure many would welcome you here Bob

  5. I think the fun of the forbidden has a lot of sense to it Heels on men are forbidden by society, as are skirts, so when I wear heels out in public I feel good, same to when I wore my wrap skirt out in public, it was a windy day blowing my skirt open occasionaly revealing my legs (high leg boots, black tights and all!) I felt quite self concious about it but deep down there was that certain satisfying thrill, as a result i've wondered if thats why many girls like wearing similar clothing?
