Glad to hear that thing s seem to be sorting themselves out.

Just my 2c, for what it's worth. My wife doesn't like me wearing female clothing & she didn't know about it when we starting dating. Once I told her, she wasn't happy, but she was willing to take it step by step. Her feeling is that I'm a man & should wear masculine looking clothing & she's a woman & should wear feminine looking clothing. However, as long as I do it at home & keep it decent in front of the kids, no problem. If I want to go out in public & make an idiot of myself in high heels, I'm doing it alone. I have "convinced" her on the odd occasion to let me wear high heeled boots with jeans, when we've gone out together, but I could see that she wasn't comfortable with it so I don't do it anymore. She doesn't have a problem with me wearing female jeans, hosiery & my riding style boots, because they look masculine.

What I think you need to find, which seems to be happening, is a common middle ground. Say, wearing high heels in a different city, or only at home. Or if you go out together wear something that looks masculine, like hosiery, jeans & men's shoes. Whatever happens keep talking & keep the other person's feelings & outlook in mind. Good Lucl.

  2. My interest in wearing high heels started out as a curiosity. As a youngster seeing my mom & her friends wearing got me curious as to what it would be like to wear them. So one afternoon when I was alone I went into her room, opened up her closet & tried on her Hush Puppy boots, as well as a pair of white sandals. I actually found it easy to walk in her heels. Unfortunately I quickly out grew her shoes & had to wait till I'd started working to buy my own. From there the curiosity extended to women's clothing, especillay skirts & dresses.

  3. A very interesting thread. Comparing items in the shopping basket to ilikekicks prices in the US., they're very similar to what we pay in South Africa. The only big difference is with the price of fuel, we pay around $5.50 a gallon. I've ordered shoes from the US & with postage you can add $30-40 & import tax about another $20-30. But it's still cheaper than buying the same shoe from a local retailer.

  4. I've taken boots in to have them narrowed as they were too wide around my calfs. I wa swearing skinnys, a long sleeved poloneck top & my Hush Puppy Shetland boots & black tights. I had to take the Hush Puppies off, put the others on & they have a 3" heel. One funny look from one of the assistants was all that I got, but he remained professional & did his work. About a week later when I went to collect them I was asked to try them on to see if they fitted, which they did. As others have said, if he is professional he will do the work without embarassing you or himself.
