For me summer means pastel tops and denim shorts/minis, so I tend to wear softer colours and styles than in the winter. My current favourites are a pair of baby pink cross-over mule wedges with a 5" heel, from Faith.

I've pulled off a bit of a coup. There's a girl who gets the same train as me in the morning who as a nail technician in the "posh" bit of Boots in Manchester. I've had a few makeovers at that Boots and the last time I booked one I also booked a manicure. My fellow commuter drew the short straw and gave me my treatment. We got talking and she's agreed to do my nails every other day before work. She is very supportive of guys wearing makeup/heels/skirts/whatever. Needless to say I am delighted!

Out clubbing Hair clipped up and kinda spiky with a little glitter, smokey eyes and bronzed cheeks with just nude glossy lips. White push-up bikini top, ankle-length white satin pencil skirt with a slit to the thigh, white lace-top stay-ups and white stiletto mules with a 4" heel.
-
Very pointed black leather stiletto slingbacks with a 5 1/2" heel.
-
"Boy" mode today, so a pair of cream slacks, crisp white shirt and camel coloured knee boots with a 4" spike. Shame it is raining!
-
Second to the ubiquitous black would be baby pink. High heels are absurd, impractical and sexy and I don't see why the colours should be any different!
-
Barbecue later today: White one=shoulder tight top from Miss Sixty, faded denim pedal pushers, white stilettoes with just three tiny buckled straps so they feel like mules - 4" heel (Faith). Hair up, light make-up.
-
Clubbing downmarket tonight so a J by Jasper Conran black bias cut dress with a pale pink pattern.
Severe black pointy shoes described as "ankle cuff" by Debenhams with a 4 3/4" heel.

Weird summer outfit today. White peasant style blouse, long a-line denim patchwork skirt, pale blue cork 4" wedge sandals from Faith.

[Humour] The innermost reaches of an al-Quaeda cave? Only joking. My first ever trip out in heels involved a 200 yard walk over cobbles. That was real learning experience. I find the worst surface is a shopping street with old paving slabs after heavy rain - I hate it when my feet get splashed as the paving stone rocks.

I hate to say it, but the better quality the leather the easier it is. I have a pair of Freelance sandals that are sex on legs yet are comfy for 12 hours at a time. Conversely a less supple leather can rip my feet in an hour.

I'm going to assume in this ideal world that all shoes and clothing are free (or I'm rich) and that all shoes are available in my size. Tomorrow the weather will be warm and sunny so I'd start the day after a pedicure. I'd head off to teh beach wearing 5" cork wedge mules with a baby pink strap, denim hot pants and a baby pink bikini top. Come evening I would have long soak in the bath, put my hair up and take advantage of my tan by slipping into a long, white bias cut dress and a pair of Gina stiletto sandals with the thinnest of toe and ankle straps atop a 5" heel. One can dream... <font size=-1>[ This Message was edited by: Dave Lipstick on 2002-06-18 00:56 ]</font>

Hair up, evening make-up, silver jewellery. White sleveless blouse with a smart collar; broad plain black tie loosely tied; 21" black pencil skirt - v. tight; seamed stockings 20 denier; black leather stilettos with a 4" heel (from Schuh a couple of years ago). On a date after work.

I agree with wearing nothing else! Heaven is a bottle of champagne, the phone off the hook and a closet full of heels!
-
Hair up, 5 min make-up, tight pink "felines on my shirt" t-shirt from Next, denim hot pants, bare legs (bronzed of course) and a pair of denim mules from Faith with a 4" heel. Just got back from the pub, watching England!

I know I'm an interloper here, but I agree that there is no rule that says one should match finger and nail colours. I tend to keep the metallics and bold colours for my toes and stick to more traditional shades on my fingers.

Trying nail varnish in the shops is about the only purchasing that scares me! It isn't trying it on that's the problem, it's removing it before an important meeting. Still, it's hard to resist.
-
Sure, I wear nail polish with open toed shoes all the time. Toes aren't the most attractive part of the body, so a bit of colour helps. However, I find that maintaining one's nails is a terrible chore and tend to go for manicures/pedicures every few weeks in lieu of the maintenance they should be getting. I don't envy the girls on this one!
-
I tend to wear socks with boots and trousers, but for court shoes and sandals I tend to wear stockings. Suspenders are a right pain, but they are better than keeping your bits in a sauna - the effect of wearing tights all day. FWIW I tend to wear a g-string under them, because my regular boxers are too bulky and a g-string actually allows plenty of freedom down there!
-
My favourite pair at the moment - a beautiful pair of red strappy sandals with a 4" stiletto heel made by FreeLance, red pinstripe hipsters, a tight fitting t-shirt with a poem about falling in love with Jimmy Choo shoes on it (from a Miss Sixty shop), blonde hair in pigtails and no make-up.
-
To be honest most of the girls are avoiding the pleated skirts and opting for a tight mini. Every one of these discos I have attended has been a bit of a meat market. Stockings and knee-boots are another favoured look. Have fun, I always have.
-
I used to cross-dress from time to time. Needless to say I was viewed as "odd" for 5 mins, then somebody else was the focus of attention. If I had my time over I would have spent most of my late teen-age years in heels.
-
In answer to the original question, sure. It has never been a problem, but I have tended to stick to knee-length boots rather than open shoes. It sure attracts the women!

For every day wear I find a pair of flared trousers in cream does the trick. I can wear most tops with them and also they accommodate almost any pair of sandals or pumps. For going clubbing I am more likely to be found in a denim mini or pair of hot pants. Sandals/mules only in that case.
