It depends whether you want people to notice you or not. I prefer pointy toes when I'm wearing trousers as I think they look great, but round toes don't show so much.

Think of all the people you'd meet and the endless opportunities to meet heelers with similar tastes. But it would have to be a shop with an open attitude and lots of larger sizes.

I want to be there as long as it is after mid-March. I'm in Cape Town for 5 weeks before that, in case anyone wants to know.

I love driving in heels but I wouldn't wear velvet ones for fear of rubbing them. I find that a pair of 4" leather or patent shoes are the best. You can have all sorts of good thoughts and feelings as you drive!

It's a good way to get over any embarrassment you may have about being seen in heels. Next, you'll be following your caller down the street. Like others, I usually am in a skirt so even better if you want to gauge reactions.

As A Scotsman living in Scotland, I am regularly wearing a kilt and I find that chunky heels up to 4" look great, also thigh boots that come under the kilt look good. Stilettos dont work so well unless you want to start a conversation!

Just bought a pair of red patent leather stilettos size 42 at LKBennett in Regent Street, London.The salesgirl said "Are they a present?" and I said "Yes, for me". She was charming and asked if I wanted to try them on. I walked out in them!

Pink is such an ugly colour - even for girls! Stick to bright red patent with the right accessories or black or dark blue if you dont like people staring. I do!
