  1. Seems to me that looking at what type of heels that everyone else is wearing would be the way to go. It would blend in with the current surroundings. I have worn heels to the mall before and out my way we have plenty of people watchers just sitting and lurking. Don't think you will go unnoticed, because they are watching. Probably won't say anything, but defiantly watching. We all know that all to familiar sound and so does most everyone else. I say just own your look and be confident in your presentation and enjoy the thing we all so enjoy

  2. Glad to hear that Happyinheels. Some of my best experiences have been at Dillard's, Nine West, and Macy's for large department stores. There is a small shop in my city that sells shoes that were used in runway shows and other types of advertismet photo shoots. The lady that owns it is very nice to me every time I visit their store. I have scored some great deals on top name brands. I sometimes get confused looks when trying on heels but I think it is just a shock value for them. Most of the time it's just a look and they are back to their own thing.

  3. I like a nice pair of Levi's however they don't come in long enough length for my long stems when wearing heels. I have found that Buckle jeans come in lengths up to 37 1/2 long. These work great with heels. I always take heels to the store when I buy jeans as they will hem the jeans to the perfect length..

  4. I agree with having a friend with you. I suppose that the strength in numbers applies to heeling as well. For those who have that friend you defiantly have something special. I know that from my own experiences that I am more comfortable with someone with me. Keep up the outings and it does get easier as you go along.

  5. I have never had a clerk turn down a potential sale. Both at Payless and DSW, clerks have offered to help and suggested shoes to try.

Did you try your new boots on in the store? New Boots

No I didn't try these on before purchase I got them on eBay. However I have another style of Frye boots and they fit like a dream
  6. I have NEVER been refused or turned down - ever. Many times the sales associates stay with me while I try on shoes, and offer recommendations on fit, or suggest other styles. Other times the sales folks just leave me be, to browse on my own. Either way, the experiences have been pleasant...

What have been your experiences Mr Romulus???

I have with only two times had nothing but positive attitude and help from the SA's
  7. I find that for the most part most people don't really seem to care. I wear what most women wear in my area without any problems. However I can't seem to make that ultimate leap to just wear some of the more femme looking heels that I so adore. I have asked several women that I cme into contact with and they seen to have no problem with the look I project. I think that most of the problem that I have is within my own head due to the social scripting that was imposed from early life. Reading the posts here at HHP will help to build anyone's confidece, but only you can make that initial step.....sometimes I can make it work and others the monster in my head will just scare the life out of me. I'm at a point in my life where I just don't care what's others think I'm going to wear MY shoes and be happy with then time that I have left on this earth, we only get so many trips around the sun. So everyone should just enjoy the special gift that we have been given.....individuality, embrace it and live your life. Happy heeling !!!

  8. Good luck on your Walk A Mile, I did one last fall and it was wonderful event. The sponsors of the walk were so gracious with support for being out in public in 4 1/2 " pumps. Got a lot of compliments on the look especially with pegged skinny jeans. The ladies were saying you ROCK THE LOOK

  9. I would remind her that she once told you that "you should wear them to see how it feels", the next time she is in heels. There is a perfect opportunity for you to climb on, "ok let me have them" if they are your size, if not you are in a great position to go shoe shopping for hh's with your wife for this little experiment!

  10. Yes, I gained alot of courage to wear my heels out after finding out that I wasn't the only guy on the planet with a desire to wear high heels. Telling my wife and her accepting me for who I am and not what I am wearing on my feet helped too. The really cool part was when she purchased us a matching pair.
