When in Vegas I wear heels everywhere.  But I wear heels everywhere anyway.  In Vegas it just seems to be more fun. Like bluesman says, there is so much activity going on that no one notices, and if they do, they don't care - unless you get a compliment, which has happened to me several times.  And that is nice.

One consideration, depending on where you are staying, getting around can involve a LOT of walking.  Not an issue in flats, but depending on your heel height and comfort of the shoes, a lengthy walk could be an issue.  Many times I have seen gals in heels struggling to get around (still looking for a guy in heels BTW).  Some gals even opt to go barefoot - yuck.  I would never do that.

    Enjoy yourself in Vegas.....    sf

Any of the casinos are good choices. All are carpeted so you don't risk slipping on tile, and everyone's busy losing money so no one's paying attention to what you're wearing. I also like to go on Fremont St. and out on the strip, particularly around Plant Hollywood, Bellagio, etc. Again, everyone is busy gawking at the sights. Welcome to Vegas, enjoy!

Thanks   I’ll try to get free time Saturday nite......fingers crossed

Like I've mentioned in previous posts of mine, I've always struggled with finding good casual outfits to wear my heels with. A nice pair of leather pumps have the tendency to scream "formal" or "dressy". It's not particularly challenging to dress down pumps, but I'm very particular about how I want my entire silhouette to look. I'm also very particular about wanting the majority of my clothes to come from the men's department. I've kind of made it my hobby to find stylish and casual outfits that not only look good, but also come mostly from the men's department. There's still a stigma that men's clothes are boring and that you have to venture outside the men's department to find stylish clothes that compliment your high heels. Even though I find this statement to be mostly true, you can find nice clothes if you look hard enough. Please don't misinterpret this as me thinking that men should only wear "men's clothes", that's far from the truth. I'm not comfortable in women's clothes, my body proportions don't fit into them in a way that makes me feel like the clothes actually fit me. Anyway, I hope that the pictures I've been sharing demonstrate that all hope isn't lost when it comes to men's clothes.

    On to today's outfit.

I took four different pictures to show that each layer can have its own look, and that you can layer up or down to add complexity or simplicity.

I've added the brand/title you can search on Amazon to find the exact item:

The Jacket: (Chouyatou Men's Casual Long Sleeve Full Zip Jacket with Shoulder Straps) Just a generic black bomber jacket I found on amazon for around $40. It's a Chinese brand I believe, but the quality was actually really good. I think it looks stylish and it has enough thickness to keep me warm during the upcoming fall months. I also really love the lining, it adds an extra little bit of detail that can be a lot of fun.

The Shirt: (NankeyStar Ripped Denim Shirt for Men Short Sleeve Button Down Plaid Shirt Slim Fit) This is just a simple plaid short sleeve button up shirt. It's made of denim. It's a little too distressed for my taste, but in the end I love the way it looks and it's cut nearly perfect for my body type. You can layer different color shirts underneath to get a little pop of color through the holes on the shoulder. I even think it would be kinda fun to find some interesting patches to sew on to add a little punk rock flair to it. It's a really simple shirt with lots of potential.

The Undershirt: Not much to say about this. Just a plain black v-neck t-shirt. The brand is Gildan. I prefer a v-neck to a crew neck. Not for any reason, I just like the lines of the "V".

The Jeans: (Bullhead Dillon Skinny Jeans) These jeans are probably going to be impossible to find anymore. I bought them from PacSun about 6 years ago. I just checked their website and I'm not sure they even carry them anymore. Not a big deal though since men's skinny jeans are available from nearly every major clothing brand you can think of. H&M sells some really great jeans in various levels of tightness. All the way from the "spray painted on" look of super skinny jeans to a more relaxed skinny jean, they're all easy to find.

The Shoes: (Sam Edelman Hazel in Spiced Mahogany Size 11) I cannot say how much I love these shoes. They're the most comfortable pumps I have ever worn. Pumps are notorious for being uncomfortable, but I think I could probably wear these shoes for an entire day and not be limping by the end of it. There's really no point of friction where blisters will happen and the leather is extremely soft. These shoes fit perfectly right out of the box. Another thing I appreciate about Sam Edelman is that they're a mainstream designer with shoe sizes all the way up to size 14 and they offer narrow and wide width shoes! This is literally the perfect pump. The only gripe I have is that they're going to set you back about $120. If you're in the market for a really nice pump you absolutely have to give these shoes a try. These shoes also come in a huge variety of colors and patterns. I bought mine from Zappos. For me  the 3 3/4 inch heel is the perfect height. If you prefer something a little bit higher Sam Edelman also has the "Danna Pump". It's basically the same concept as the Hazel Pump but with a 4 1/4 inch heel. Looking on Zappos these only go up to a size 11. I think the Hazel Pump is the bread and butter of their shoe line though.

Anyway, I'm really proud of this outfit. If you guys are enjoying these posts I'll keep experimenting with different styles and outfits and share them. My quest for casual is finally yielding some great results I think. When someone sees me in public and does a double take, as they inevitably will, I don't want them to think "oh look there's a guy in high heels!" I want them to think "Wow! I had no idea heels could look so normal on a guy!"

Sorry I cropped out my face. My hair was kind of a mess...

I wore my Sorel wedges last time and it was heaven! I didn’t set off the metal detector when I went through TSA(I have precheck so we don’t have to take off our shoes) and they were comfortable for over 8 hours!

I have the same ones. They are defiantly an all day boot.

  4. 2”-3” heels for me with my bootcut “girl” jeans for years now, with many compliments.  I just decided a few years back this is what I choose to wear, and have had many “you wear it well” responses. Guys if you want to wear the footwear of you choice, I discovered that the one that was really holding me back was me. We cannot change what others think or say but we can change what we think of ourselves. Rock your heels and own who you are.  Happy heeling!!

  5. The Buckle is a wonderful place to get the jeans of your choice from either side of the store. The Sales Associates are there to help you get the best fit no matter which rack it comes from. I have been an employee for Buckle and they are by far the best in customer service, give them a try, you won’t be disappointed.

So today wasn’t very eventful as I spent most of it at home.

But I did venture out to the grocery and wore my Sorel wedges. Now even though I wore these during my last couple of flights, I had some nervousness wearing them to the grocery. Why? I am not sure, but today for some reason, the jeggings didn’t look right when tucked in or pulled over... so I tried something that I had previously mentioned that I wasn’t a big fan of, and that was cuffing them!

I know a couple of people took notice, but no one laughed, made mention of them within earshot, etc. So I consider this trip a win.

I have the same boots and love them, they are an all day heel for sure.  The cuffed jeans are my preferred look!!

So I discovered the app/website called PoshMark a while back, and had found some boots and shoes I liked, but hadn't really pulled the trigger.

But I finally had sold my Hunter rain boots on there(I decided I wanted a matte pair instead of gloss, but I'm not worried about getting them yet), and decided to get some boots!

The first pair is Sorel Conquest Carly. They are a size 10, true to size, and super comfortable to wear over or under jeans! They're meant for snow, and although we don't really have any here, I figure it's best to be prepared!

The next pair I purchased were some amazingly cute ankle boots from Aldo! I would be lying if I said I wasn't thrilled to get these and wear them out! However, as I learned after receiving them, PoshMark seems to size things weird. They were listed as a 10 because according to the app/site, a 40 UK is a 10 US. Well, they don't fit... more like a 9-9.5? I can get them on, but my feet hurt and I don't think any kind of stretching will help. So I am going to sell them on here and see if there are any takers. I was super disappointed...

Last, but not least, I was browsing eBay, looking through a seller's items who I happen to know personally. She buys returned inventory, etc. from places like DSW, etc. and then sells them on eBay. I had been wanting some Sorel Joan of Arctic wedges, and she finally got a pair in my size! I purchased them last night and will hopefully have them this week!

Sode note: between these purchases and the shoes I will have posted about in The Who Has Bought New Shoes thread, my wife told me I've hit my limit, lol! So no more purchases for a good while. But, happy wife, happy life!

    pictures are ordered this way:

I have the Sorel Joan of Arctic as well they are awesome.  Im on posh mark too it is a great site.

  8. Just repainted mine. I love the look too, my wife doesn't care that I wear it. I paint hers for her most of the time. Sometimes we wear the same color. Some times you will get that weird looking stare but I have had more likes and encouragement.  I know what you mean there Heelster about the old 9-5er. I keep mine covered to avoid the toweling that would come if the guys see it.

Don't know why some folks feel they have to comment, but one of these days, I'm gonna wear a pair of black skinny jeans and a pair of neon pink heels just like the ones in your picture - - - and go for a long walk.

Maybe during breast cancer awareness month.

I think that some are envious that we have the courage to actually be ourselves and wear what we like. As to any remarks on me wearing MY skinny jeans........"because I can"

Yeah, it was the exact same clothing as in the "striding" picture, so it would seem that someone must have noticed. However, when walking more slowly, as one might do at a zoo, you can see that the pants drop down considerably. It may be that no-one that day cared, or it may be that I didn't care, who knows?

My father has been ok with my choice of footwear from the outset. My mother somewhat less so, but she's also come to accept that it's just the way I am.

Great look, very well done. Stylish for anyone that loves heels!

  11. Super cute, those are stunning. Hope you get many miles out of them. I use to shop at Kohls as well buy the lack of size 11 has put a damper on that. Any of you guys that can wear a 10 or smaller are soooo lucky.

  12. I know what you mean there Heels2U. I have the same situation at my local Dillard's. It is an awesome feeling to be helped like that. I worked at Dillard's for a short time in the ladies shoe dept., and was instructed to cater to all. We had an 11/12 wall where most of those sizes were kept. Once you have purchased from them they won't forget you. If you want to up your game tell your favorite SA you would like to be on the "list" that way you will be notified when things that you are interested in come in your size . Also they are able to order from the whse. and ship the your door.

You will find that those SA's will work for you they want the sale. If you aren't treated well just go buy three pair of high end shoes from one of the other SA's walk past and hold them up and say "Huge mistake. I'll bet that one will remember you when you are back in the store.

  13. Great job on your outing to the mall. I still remember the first time I tucked my jeans in the boots, took all of three minutes until the first comment from the girls I work with......."wow I love your boots"

  14. I am jealous of my wife. She is 5'2" so when she goes to the mall she wears here heels usually 4-5 inch heels. And she looks great wraring them. I am 6'1" without heels and all my heels are 4-7 inch heels. My height with heels would me make me stand out even more. Having trouble getting over that " first hurdle". Otherwise when I am home after work I can not wait to wear my heels.

Yeah I know what you mean, that first step is always the hardest. Do you wear your heels out with your wife? I do the same thing usually on the drive home off come the brogues and on go the heels.
