Bert, I have always wanted to go to Monument Valley, mainly because of its natural beauty and wonder and secondly because one of my favorite tv shows is 'Airwolf' and the valley featured prominently in it, although it was referred to in the show as being called 'Valley Of The Gods'. I wouldn't mind going to the real Valley Of The Gods, south-eastern Utah as well but thats another story! Sorry moderators, this is my one-and-only stray 'off-topic'! It won't happen again! Azraelle's right, as soon as you'd get to an incline up or down you'd be skating around like Torville And Dean! Also forget trying to walk on marble or a similar surface!

Hi Julie, thanks for the compliment! Because some musicians tend to have somewhat 'different' looks, I thought it would be a great opportunity to firstly gain confidence, secondly because so many other great musicians have done so in the past so why can't I? and thirdly because I can merge two of the great passions I have in my life: playing bass and wearing heels! Hi Julie! Your 'ramblings' made very interesting reading as I am in a similar situation to your friend as I am beginning to get more confidence in wearing heels in the public. I have worn 2 - 21/2 inch cowboys for years but have longed to wear something a little more 'interesting'. In the last year or so I have begun wearing 21/2 - 3 inch heel block heel boots in public and I am getting more confident with every step; pun DEFINITELY intended! I have just ordered a pair or knee high stretch boots with a 3 inch blade heel which I hope to wear pretty soon. I play bass in an old-fashioned rock band and I wear a pair of black leather ankle boots with a pointy toe and 21/2 inch block heel with black leather jeans as a 'stage' look which I find is helping my confidence. So far, no-one has said anything! I also would like to participate in the proposed meet-up with yourself and your friend and Yamyam, et al if I am not working or playing on the date that you decide. Thanks for the info Becks! It's SOOO annoying being just one size up from what is considered to be 'normal' female shoe sizes! Just a thought, would this be similar for Next boots as well and some of them can be quite similar to Faith? Jay x

I have just seen a rather nice pair of boots by Faith in one of those catalogs that you find in the middle of your Sunday papers but they only go up to UK size 8. I am UK size 9 but I can wear some size 8 boots. Does anybody know if Faith boots are a perfect 8 or if they can fit a bit larger. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Jay

I am not that overly keen on heights myself, however, I've always wanted to be a chopper pilot strangley enough! Must have been all that watching of Airwolf when I was younger!!

Have you ever had a time when the wonderful shoe manufacturers have placed the sticker right in the centre of the sole and not on the arch! I have and it felt very funny! i had one slippy shoe and one sticky shoe!

I agree with you wholeheartedly, Becks! I think that the sight of one these "lovely" labels makes the image of the shoe a little undignified, possibly a bit "violated" as well. Probably the wrong word there but it was the cloest one I could think of! Also, many times, when you remove the label there is a horrible "residue" of glue stuck on the sole which in many cases can look even worse! Luv Jay xx

I was in my local park a couple of weeks ago after it had been raining and I saw a girl wearing ankle boots with a 4+ inch stiletto trying to get up a grassy hill to where her friends were, however, it was difficult as the grass was wet. Her heels were sinking and every time she tried to climb her soles slipped on the grass. She ended up on her knees a couple of times, I guess her boots were slippy. One of her friends who was in trainers eventually helped her! I think she might have been a bit embarrassed as there were lots of people in the park.

Try walking up a very steep, very icy pathway in 5 inch pumps with VERY smooth soles! You cannot get more slippery than that!

I agree with you there, there's a good chance that square-toes will fit better. Also, a few of the boots are available in wide fit so that should make it better as well!

Thanks Doc! Have you got any advice on the best way to stretch a boot? I'm a little clueless in this area!

Do any of you know if any of the size 42 boots in the new collection at Next will fit a size 43? There are some wonderful boots in the collection but being a size 43 is a pain in the ***! I know sometimes manufacturers of boots can make them a little big; I'm hoping anyway! Any feedback would be greatly appreciated!

1993 Audi 80 2.6 V6. Beautiful car to drive and quick as ***t off a shovel! Electronic 4 speed auto with sports setting so I can REALLY annoy all those stupid boy racers! Oh yeah, and a cd player too!

Those shoes are lovely Julietta, very sexy indeed! I like perspex heels as well but I don't own any as yet. That polish would just make them about perfect! If you like them, buy them! I think your feet and legs would look fantastic in them! Jay xx
