..in german that is. Anyone done business with them? Adress is http://www.com3.de/heels
I'm considering buying a pair of shoes from them.

Hi Lisa (and other people ...)
The gain of height associated to a given heel's height is allways less than the heel's height.
A basic way to increase the height of the wearer is to add a platform : the gain of height is one inch for every inch of platform's thickness.
The high heeled shoes (w/o platform) are based on the fact that the foot is a very complex articulation. Let's make a simple observation :
observe your bare foot starting from flat on the floor and increasing the height of the heel :
- the front part of the foot is allways flat on the floor
- the rear part of the foot is mobile, rotating around an imaginary vertex at the boundary of the the fixed and mobile parts of the foot.
Let's make another observation : the physical deformation induced by the high heel is entirely located in the foot. There is no deformation in the leg or in the knee. (Yes, I know that this is a 'first order' approximation because people who wear high heels often have to compensate in various ways the influence of high heels)
Hence, the gain of height associated to a given heel's height is the gain of height of the ankle as this articulation is involved in the rotation of the rear part of the foot. This gain of height is of course non linear and the exact solving requires some trigonometry (I can send this model for the one who are interested).
Let's define the 'efficiency' of the heels as the ratio (gain of height / heel's height).
The efficiency of the heels is allways less than 1.
The efficiency of the heels diminishes with higher heels.
Sincerely
Romu
don't you think a 1" heel would make you exactly 1" taller?

generalizing is very dangerous. in this day and age you can't just say "men are like this" and "women are like that", because if you do, I'm not a man, because I don't fit the description. It's all about how you are raised.
-
It doesn't seem anyone here is open minded about a traditional woman.
I just don't want any part of them.
-
what du you base that on?I'd rather forget the whole discussing I just read. I advise anyone to do the same. Now my 2 cents:
Maybe this thread was started in order to get general approvement from women. In my opinion we men will never get it. Why? Because men are men, and women are women. Although we all are humans, men and women are physically different and therefore 'think' different.
Lion
we think different because we are raised different, not because we are physically different.

1. Europe - The final countdown. Some of my parents records, such as ABBA and The Beatles. 2. A lot, as long as it sounds interesting. Wierd rock and electronic music, jazz. Cari Lekebusch, Pan Sonic, Autechre, Aphex Twin, Skeleton Key, Primus, bob hund, Hansson & Karlsson.. all I can think of right now. But loads more. 3. Primus, Skeleton Key, bob hund 4. Beatles. I am the walrus! goo-goo-gajoob!

To quote Death in Terry Pratchetts Discworld: "black goes with anything, it goes with everything sooner or later."
-
Doc Marten type steel toed boots.
-
Simple, because the clothing industry wants more money.

The picture compression is horrible and the seams on the intro-picture are obviuosly painted on.

Ernest have updated their webpage and have som new interesting models for sale. A bit pricy, but some are rather unique. Check it out:
-
Mostly boots, but I have a pair of mules for summer parties. I'm also planning to by these:
-
I think its because the body is more relaxed with a bit of alcohol in it.
-
strangely, I've found it easier to walk in my 5,1" stiletto boots when I'm a bit drunk.
-
that photo is password-protected. not a very smart idea to post it on a public board. every time the page loads, a login window will pop up.

Since I started wearing heels, about 1,8 years ago, I've spent about $1300 on shoes.

Ignoring emails about the purchase of heels tells me enough. Maybe I'm being a bit rough on the gal, but she's been just as rude toward us as well. I'm not the only one that wrote her. Missy did as well, trying to get information a specific heel make. Never did any kind of reply from her.
When someone does these kinds of things, it tends to leave an impression on ones minds about the kind of person they are. I'm sure she's a nice person and all...it's just what I think.
what do you mean "her"? do you think it's this Randi that runs Arch enemys?
-
My judging is based on my experience. I've tried to contact these people a few times and everytime it's been unanswered. Eveytime I've tried to contact them, the emails have been straight forward and couteous. I've never been blantent or rude in them. Everytime I've written, there has been questions that an answer would be needed for, but I've never gotten anything for a reply. Right there tells me the kind of people they are.
No, I've never tried to purchase anything from them, but this isn't the only place that bad experiences have been expressed about dealing with them. So, from all the things I've read about them and from what they have shown me, I think Laurie has her beat hands down.
how can you judge a person from the actions of others she might not be too associated with?

This was some while ago.Actually, America has known for a very long time that there are other countries on this planet. The people in "those other countries" left their homeland for a better life.
obviously they failed. And what did they do? They all setteled in a place called America and worked extremely to make it the greatest country in the world.
If the USA didn't have to play world police all the time there wouldn't be a terrorist threat against them.
we need coutries to act less like america, not more.I also agree with you Trolldeg.
As a proud US citizen I too am sick of the US being the world police all of the time. Most of the majority of US citizens (including myself) wish that the rest of the world (except the UK) would do a lot more.
I guess we were hoping the US would come to its senses.Yes, you are right, the US does not participate in pollution control. Really folks, if you think that the US is going to sign something as stupid as the KYOTO PROTOCOL TO THE UNITED NATIONS FRAMEWORK CONVENTION ON CLIMATE CHANGE you are dreaming.
in what way is it hurting? by making our world a cleaner place? The US would never sign something that would hurt this great nation.
GWB won't sign because he came to power through campaign money from american oil companys, and these now expect something in return.
2 wrongs does not make a right.By, the way, if you all think that the US is a bunch of polluters - think again. If you want to see real pollution take a trip to Russia sometime!

Nope. It takes a special kinda lady to be a high heel goddess. She dosen't have it. Besides being able to wear them, she also has to have a bit of determination, attitude, compassion, will power and an understanding of people. I'm afraid that from my experience, the people at ArchEnemy's dosen't have what it takes. Laurie's a special person all her own.
how can you judge this Randi so fast, and by watching a short clip? or have you perhaps chatted with her or talked in real life? maybe we should try to contact her and invite her to the board?
-
provocation time: If the USA didn't have to play world police all the time there wouldn't be a terrorist threat against them.

Say what you will about the business practices of Arch enemys, but they have a rather nice gallery on their site. There is a preview of a video they sell, featuring a girl named Radi, playing around with a basketball in pink patent 5½" ankle strap pumps. She seems to be good at running in them too. Another high heel Godess perhaps?
