  1. Does anyone know what has happened to this wonderful concern? Apparently some tragic events occurred that shut down this fine German firm. They had a wide selection of footwear including the fascinating "Angelo" high heel clogs.:)

  2. In the mid-to-late 70's, a lot. (They were men's wedges and platforms). I had

amassed quite a few pair, and even frequently wore 3" platform boots to work.

In more recent times saw 5 guys, shopping in hh pumps, spike heel boots, at our local hh get-together in North Canton, Ohio in 2008. I had a nice time that

day and look forward to the next get-together in in n.e. Ohio. There was a get-together recently, but I couldn't make it.

  3. What experiences we have!!! I thought I was unusual to be into slightly off-beat attire for the pedal extremity. In the 80's I really liked platforms and wore them to work daily. Today, I wear Dansko clogs almost all the time, and really dislike the sneakers that other "know-it-alls" recommend. I have several pairs of Dansko, and am very pleased to have picked up a nearly new pair at a thrift store for eight bux. As my screen name suggests, I like clogs the best, including the beautiful pairs that I have with 3.5 inch heels.

  4. I like clogs, too. That's why I chose the name "Sabotalot". I wore them everywhere, and will be doing so again, once this sore knee gets better. Meanwhile, I'm in the "Snickers" mode. Bob and Ray gave out "Snickers" to various game-show contestants in one of their clever tv skits in the 1980's. ("What size Snickers do you wear, ma'am?")

  5. I thought that having a new muffler put:smile: on my car would take just a few minutes, so I wore a pair of 3" heel, low-cut pumps while waiting for repairs. Little did I know that I needed a whole new exhaust system, and that I would be there for 2 hours. Spoke with various other customers while there, but none seemed to notice anything unusual.

  6. I've been "out and about" wearing lots of nifty shooz. even with a 4" heel, but they were either with a broad-base (clogs), or narrow-spike in boots (heel may be narrow, but boot-shaft added to stability of leg.) How do you balance yourself? I just obtained a nice pair of 4-inch red pumps from Payless, but am afraid of falling, or turning an ankle under.

  7. There is some discussion in another thread about a heel meet in the Pittsburgh area. I was wondering who might be interested, just as a starting point. I would see a fairly laid back event, lunch some shopping, maybe an activity such as a museum or something. Please post if interested.

    Thanks!

Add me to the prospective list. I really like high-heel clogs. (See JMC's avatar)
  8. I remember the girls wearing those wooden slides and sandals when I was in high school. It was a real challenge concentrating on studies while they were walking around!

I've been wanting to mention that your choice of footwear (open-back high-heel clogs) has been a favorite of mine for many years. I never thought that I would have the nerve to buy them, let alone wear them, but I do. While it is snowey, however, I have to make do with 4" heel, knee-high boots, worn on the OUTSIDE of my jeans. Tha sacrefices one must make in winter!!!
  9. I'm so glad to have found this place. I really like 4-inch open-back "Candies" clogs. When it doesn't snow, I wear them everywhere. Lacking ok weather,I wear my Bastad (discontinued loafer-vamp style) clogs. They allow me to stomp-off the @#$%& snow o.k. Springtime and hh meet, please hurry!;-)

  10. I still think that high-heel open-back "Candies" clogs are great. Saw them on a lady customer where I once worked, and thought "Too bad I can't wear anything like that, let alone buy them". I bought them and wear them frequently now:clap: when out and about, except when we have this *&%$# snow, like we do now.

  11. I'm going to refer back to Happyfeat's visit for an eye exam. I did exactly the same thing when I went for my last eye exam, except I went in my favorites, 4.5" high-heel clogs. Comfortable and easy to walk in, but no matter what style heels you wear, watch out for slippery floors. (I know from experience). Come to think of it, I've hurt myself in sneakers/trainers, when I failed to tuck away the #$%@* laces, something that only one pair of my heels has (high-heel oxfords from Payless). And yes, I'll go there and try on anything that interests me.
