  1. Yeah, I agree - no facial hair. You can get away with it if you're just wearing heels, but if you're going to do the whole cross-dressing thing, well, let's just say that I've seen a dude wearing all women's clothes with a full beard, and it wasn't attractive or stylish AT ALL. It was just...well...weird...

  2. Zappos.com is starting to bring boots in for the fall season... For you guys with bigger feet like me, they have some nice new David Tate and Fitzwell ankle/calf boots in larger sizes (up to 14) and wide widths. I'm just debating on which ones to get... Either these ones (Vera): http://www.zappos.com/david-tate-vera-black-leather?zfcTest=fcl%3A0 or these ones (Summit): http://www.zappos.com/david-tate-summit-black-leather?zfcTest=fcl%3A0 I think I like the Vera's a little better due to the non-pointy toe...both have 2 inch heels. Opinions are welcomed. Keep in mind that I would just be wearing these under regular men's jeans...

  3. A chunky heel generally won't draw as much attention on a man as a stiletto heel would. TRUST ME, if you had gone to that performance in spiked heels people would have noticed. Even LOW ones.

I don't necessarily WANT to attract attention. If it happens, fine, but I would rather just fly under the radar, and just be me. As a rocker, the chunky heel just looks better. Yes I do have some spiked boots too, but I have yet to coordinate a tasteful outfit to go with them. So for now they are just "around the house" boots. And honestly, I would probably NEVER wear stilettos on stage, given how active I am while on stage and how much I move around. The stilettos may be just for parties and social events...

  4. Today I wore my 2 inch stacked/block heel cowboy-ish type boots for a band performance in Atlantic City. I may or may not have pictures (depending on what kind of shots my friends got). But I will say I did lots of walking - from the parking garage to the event center, and places in between. No funny looks, no comments, nothing...

  5. Just got a pair of Stuart Weitzman Molten boots in black leather from a Nordstroms rack for 80% off. I've seen these for a while for twice the cost in suede, but jumped on these. They have a full 4" heel, but it is quite wide and stable. Already wore them to buy lunch in a grocery store. The leather is very soft and I suspect they will get a lot of use.

Rockpup those are awesome - very similar to what I've been looking for in my size.

  6. Why not change your mode of wearing high heels? What is the point of wearing high heels under pants? One of the purposes of high heels is so that other people can see them. After all, women wear men's shoes all of the time so there is no reason that a man can't wear women's shoes. It is really not a big deal. If you want to wear sandals, payless has a large selection especially online. If you wear sandals in the summer, I suggest a professional pedicure and bright red nail polish on your toenails. I always wear red polish on my toes with 3 inch wedge sandals and get a lot of compliments from women. You should always wear colored polish on your toenails if you wear any type of open toe sandal because it really enhances the look. Why not take a big step and just let everyone see that you wear high heels? If people ask you about the heels, just tell them that you like wearing heels. It is very liberating to wear heels and nail polish just like women do.

I wear my heels under my jeans because that's the way I like it, and that's the look I want. I'm not a spring/summertime heeler.

And I'm DEFINITELY NOT painting my toenails...it might work for you, but it's not my style...

I'll just go on a heeling vacation until the fall...(but I'll still contribute here!) No biggie...

  7. And that sucks for the guys like me that wear their heels/boots under their jeans! Can't wear jeans on a 80 degree (F) day! And that means I can't wear my heels! Unless there's a cool night. Ugh... Can someone can point out some not-too-feminine looking heels/sandals that I can wear with khaki shorts...size 13? Suggestions welcome... Oh if anyone wants to see, I posted several pics of my boots in my gallery...

  8. i would say, time to reintroduce this trend! (but i don't think my band members would really accept me doing this)

You might be surprised. My band members were totally cool with it. They were so much more accepting of it than my wife!

However, I don't think I'd want to play in the 4 or 5 inch stillettos all night. I play in a cover band that usually is out for 6 or 7 hours (including set-up, sound check, and take-down time). That would be too painful.

  9. Jorisken, I am a musician and I wear eyeliner and heels for gigs and whenever I want my Rockstar look. I believe, and several other people confirmed, that I looked good wearing the eyeliner (the heels are hidden so no one really sees them). I became so confident in my look that I posted pictures of myself on Facebook wearing the eyeliner. It was a bold move in my opinion. What happened? Well most people said nothing, and some actually agreed that I made it look good. Only a few people tried to make fun of it, but I stood my ground and acted like I didn't care what they thought. I didn't care, and still don't. I didn't let them bother me and now I'm pretty much expected to wear the eyeliner all the time. I won't wear it around certain closed-minded, backstabbing, and judgmental people (I.e. my mother in law) but I will wear it anywhere else with confidence. You can do the same. Do it tastefully and respectfully, do it with confidence, and you will be a happier person...

  10. Speaking as a medical professional, the pain in the ball of your foot could be a neuroma. I had one recently. It's a very common people for people that wear high heels, and easy to fix. To fix it, you have to (gulp) stop wearing high heels for a while, take a small thick sponge, cut out a circle from the sponge to form a hole, place the sponge on your foot so the hole is over the area of pain and tape the sponge to your foot. The goal is to lift the ball of the foot up a little while relieving the pressure in the painful area. If problems persist, you should see a podiatrist.
