  1. I may not prefer other's appareling choices and others may not care for my outfit ensembles, but isn't this the way individuality is meant to enrich the lives of those around them. When everyone wears the heels I prefer, any choices of other apparel would look great as far as I'm concerned. This is probably everyone's perspective, so enjoy and compliment or tolerate while enriching their life in continuing to wear your preferences.

Histiletto :  You just mentioned that have tried getting custom made heels. Who and where have you contacted ? We may know different sources . Mike

Most of the custom heel craftsmen that I have dealt with, are no longer available - mostly because they now apply their craft within Heaven's domain. Peter Chu of 6 Inch High Heels Forever out of China,(orientvisual.com), has been a source. When Gina (Queen Of Heels) was an active HHP member, she partnered with Elite-Heels (Gerhard Luther) and I purchased a few of their high heels. There have been others, but I have forgotten their identity and contact info. Furthermore, I don't even know if their businesses exist any more.

  3. Certain stiletto pumps of the 50's and 60's are the classic styles that I have in a sense fallen in love with. The stilettos of the 80's and 90's encouraged the possibility the fashion cycle would help bring back my favorite heels at the higher heights, but alas that didn't happen. I even tried to have some custom-made, but it seemed the artistry and craftmanship had been lost. So I have settled for the heels that came closest to the styling I really wanted. Fashion cycles do happen. They just don't usual bring back the styles that were the reasons the previous cycles got to be so popular, at least for the combination of the high spike/stiletto heels like these: stiletto_heel_pointed_toe_black_patent_leather_pumps.thumb.jpg.168aed07a8fe69c6e46eed3d68d41aaa.jpg272366726_042921fa737d07773f9d638a9520fa3db(6).thumb.jpg.a38e93c55b77239f50ef1ebc8f70c0ab.jpg

  4. Many of my heels are identical or styled back-ups of the high heels I really love and prefer wearing. So I probably could get rid of some scuffed and scraped pairs that are beyond or in need a lot of repair. Besides, I need the spaces they now occupy.

  5. I was already hooked on wearing a pair of black patent leather, buckle strapped shoes when I was at the ripe old age of almost 2. fbf45f2ea6bb4b93e0c18597fab8dbba1.thumb.jpg.5a8279334b4e403cbad443c262471e52.jpgIn the mornings after waking they were the first items I would put on for the days activities, because in my mind possession was ownership. Then one day my ownership idea was shattered, when my sister wanted to wear them for an activity we were going to attend. As a toddler I vehemently protested, as my buckle strap footwear was taken off my feet and given to her. From then on, my distrust in others taught me to be deceitful in order to satisfy my natural desire to wear my preferred shoes became regular, if not daily occurrences. Being caught and punished were only consequential formalities. When I was 3, my sister had out grown the footwear and needed to get a larger pair. Once I saw what had happened, I immediately went and got my favorite footwear and put them on, in spite of the objections. The buckle strap shoes and me became one. Only baths and changing clothes separated us. It was heaven on earth, because my most preferred desire was being satisfied and since I had shown others how much I wanted to wear them, surely they would replace them with another pair when the time came. My trust soon became distrust again when I was denied my footwear preference replacement. So I returned to being deceitful and secretive in trying to fulfil my desires to have and wear the now increasing styles of shoes I preferred.

It was a year or 2 later, I saw my first pair of stiletto pumps and knew right away they were the footwear I would be wearing to satisfy my desires. 523004950_11311968ml_14_d(4).thumb.jpg.ca03aadd4c6162392bdc654d5c8d22e3.jpgFrom then on, when the chances to secretly wear my preferred footwear became available, rarely did these chances get passed up. These activities may not qualify as starts for wearing heels, but until I was on my own, these some times brief episodes confirmed I am a wearer of (high) heels or more to the point - stiletto pumps.

  6. Each person has their own preferences, because of the individual they are and the things that are available to be chosen. Perhaps had I lived in the era of the caveman, I would have wanted a top and skirt made of fox or bear hides or had I lived in the time of the Musketeers, I would have wanted a particular sword. But alas, I only really know that I live in this time and I have wanted to wear and wore a pair of patent leather Mary Jane shoes like these:1318060190_th30Z8O3KQ(6).jpg.9b4480c853c509fc8bc7cc95dd33566b.jpg since I was about two years old. My next footwear desire came when I was in my pre-school age, when I first saw a pair of stiletto pumps and was simultaneously hooked. They looked very similar to this picture, but with the angled lines of "A" shaped toe boxes, instead of "C" shaped pointed toe boxes.2113781175_11311968ml_14_eduo_med.thumb.jpg.eeed82ce5ea4fc692d7fe0a82e1b87c8.jpg Even though my feet were way to small, I proportionally envisioned a proper sizing and how my feet would appear with them on.

With this background and having to live many days, weeks, months, even years, without fulfilling my desire to have and wear the heels I prefer, it would be impossible for me to give up wearing heels, even if they were forced from me.

  7. As far as I'm concerned, any outfit with the wearer's preferred heels would look great, at least to them.

The better shoe/boot makers scale up (or down) their heel heights with the size of the shoe or boot to keep the proportions the same throughout the range. While the shoe or boot might be marketed as having a four inch heel, that four-inch heel would be for the “standard” size, say, size 38. Someone wearing a larger size of that model would therefore have a proportionately higher heel.

I can remember when high heeled footwear was sold only by the heel height and not by the proportional shaping for the whole brand line. Then this brand would advertise or display the line of footwear using the smaller sizes, which appealed to potential buyers. However, when the product in the larger size was presented, the footwear looked completely different as the slope of the insole was more horizontal loosing the proportional attraction that essentially sold the heels. For sure I wasn't the only customer to voice and write my disappointed opinion about the difference looks in sizing, because in a couple of years, most heels were sold by the proportionally sized appearance rather than heel heights. In fact high heels should probably be sold by the sloping angle of the insole, instead of heel heights that proportionately vary with each size. This way the wearer would be more informed as to the angle in high heels their feet are able to comfortably wear. The same information in lower heels would be nice to know and for comparing, but not as critical.

You know, other then some bigger calves I can hardly notice the difference between the two. Of course EU41 is still fairly within the normal range for most women. 42 is where it starts going into rarer territory.

Viewing this photo the different heel heights are quite evident to me.

  10. WOW! These last several comments strayed into oblivion, loosing the focus of what draws us to heels.

I have to say the classic pointed toe patent leather stiletto pumps fulfils and satisfies my taste to accent my appearance with a few simple lines of stylized beauty and mobilized pedestals that completely verify my confidence and adds to the graceful movements of my high heel profile!

  11. I use to wear stiletto pumps barefooted and my feet would stick to the lining which was uncomfortable and generated unpleasant odors. After discovering the benefits of wearing nylon hosiery while wearing stiletto pumps, I rarely wear heels without knee high nylons or sometimes pantyhose for special dressier occasions.

  12. The color neutrality of nude/beige/taupe fits right in with the socially promoted men's dull appareling colors and this trio is easier to match with the various hues and tints of red, blue, green, and violet/purple solids, florals, and/or prints.

  13. I have various pairs of Pleaser Domina Pumps that were advertised as being 6 inch high heels that actually measured at 5.5 inches when I checked, because they seemed easier to walk in than some of my actual 6 inch heels.

It's learned behavior. It's humans not being humans. Which then makes it more interesting why we do what we do.

Yes, wearing high heels and the other items of apparel we prefer are the very essence of being human in presenting the person we each are, while contradicting the dictations society promotes to treat us like robots by its stereotyped classifications, rules, standards, and preferences.

  15. It is great that a business like Jimmy Choo and Steve Madsen are venturing into larger sized high heels, but if the heel styles continue to have the same now popular look that offers the heel propping up the very back of the pumps design, I won't be in the market to purchase them. This means I can save on not buying the heeled footwear with no attractive high heel shaping that has really become a turn off, at least for me. So if the larger sized high heels fail to bring in the sales, it won't be because there isn't a demand for high heels in larger sizes. The reason would be more in the line the high heels styling wasn't attractive enough to satisfy the desires of the men and women who care more about purchasing their high heeled preferences than being today's fashion sheep. The Mary Jane pumps in this picture have more attractive heel styling 837709989_christian-louboutin-black-decocolico-mary-jane-patent-leather-euro-395-pumps-size-us-85-0-0-960-960-a(2).thumb.jpg.ef2f04fecae4b71a1eb48d93a83f8ac5.jpgthan the stiletto heel in the this pictureef49296c42ed03e9655d31b0b35814c1.thumb.jpg.a51b623d6f7bce8c082c14fc0a2b8d11.jpg because the heels of the Mary Janes actually look like they support the wearer, instead of creating a lean to and/or a shelf bracket appearance that the heel gives the construction of the attractive part of the high heel shaped pump.

  16. As a young toddler, who didn't know the difference about much of anything, my desire to wear the shinny black patent leather buckle strapped footwear like the pairs pictured are some of my first memories in this mortal existence.

Even after being told that only girls were suppose to wear these styles of shoes, it didn't seem right that my young male desire to wear these type of shoes is forbidden. So I have always wanted and have kept trying to wear stylishly beautiful shoes as I have grown up. I believe when I was about to enter my first year of elementary schooling that a special pair of the classic styled black patent leather spike/stiletto pumps like the heels pictured caught my notice, which advanced my desires to include high heels.

  17. Sorry to burst this bubble, but the report said the heels and feet were edited out of the video and all the volunteer critics saw were the ways the girls' bodies were moving as they walked. The footwear could have been some of the ugliest examples of heel styles that showed the feet in unflattering positions and perspectives, which could have made lots of differences as far as the sexiness of the footwear. So this claim of high heels being sexier wasn't established by this report, but it verified that just the walking in high heels looks sexier.

Each person has their own high heel preferences for the sexiest and most attractive footwear. Then again, some people might not look as stunning to others and possibly myself, if they chose to wear my preferences. So what an individual wears has to be their decision, because it is really nobody else's business. Suggestions and advice can be offered, but the final decision is meant by nature to be the wearer's.

Given the later (very helpful) comments on heel-positioning, it looks to me as though these black courts have the heel set rather too forward - or is that an illusion given the angle of the first pic?   Some of the early (mid-50s) stilettos had a similarly forward-placed heel, but the classic style was more with a 'central' positioning (under one's own heel), much as in Heike's left-hand pic.   I can see why so many shoes now have a set-back heel, but I don't like them either, in terms of wearability or appearance.

Yes it is an illusion, because of the way the light reflects off the angling of the upper heel. Here is a similar pump by Giuseppe Zanotti with the stiletto heel being slightly thicker, but the same basic design. 413813340_11056819nr_14_fa(4).thumb.jpg.9d620c5ad3a458db84cda9f7fecb557a.jpg

  19. Does it matter? For the males that have already decided to wear heels, most of us have pre-determined how much we are willing to push our social envelope so that it won't endanger our standing or ability to continue in our occupation and lifestyle. If we don't see that staying passive in this matter is the reason we aren't able to wear our high heels openly, then we have not really been noticing what women have to do to gain what benefits they have been able to achieve. Where would women be in their quest for equality, if they approached their situation with the same fervor that our attitude and position has demonstrated to wear high heels? Hopefully you will turn your discomfort at this comment into motivation to have the same fervor that women have shown to get their equal status. Come to think of it, what could promote equality more than males wearing heels right along side of females, in spite of many women wanting to keep heels just for them?

  20. For sure, high heels are the footwear many males enjoy and prefer to wear, also. I use to think that males had a feminine side that caused this desire. Since then I have learned that heels actually started as male footwear that females desired to wear that was viewed as becoming more manly. So they are just another choice of apparel for our feet. It's the social attitude that has assigned who can wear what, that promotes the shame for wearing the apparel it didn't assign for you. The social assigning of apparel goes against people's natural ability to know what they personally want to wear. Apparel from lingerie to coats and from hats to shoes doesn't have any natural assignment as to who can choose to wear it. Anybody can wear the heels of the height, style, and type they have the taste and desire for and there certainly is an array of footwear selections.

  21. I am somewhat grateful that most of the designers started supporting the back of their shoes with their stilettos, instead of supporting the heel of the foot, because they are less desirable for me to buy them by how they look in that false look of support. When they first started this back of shoe support trend, I couldn't help think of the arches collapsing because of the span from the back of the heel to the toe box seemed so enormously ridiculous. Plus the landing action of each step seemed more difficult with the stiletto heel tips being vertically placed back so far from the vertically positioned forward center of the foot's heel. This positioning more aggressively prompts the wearer to land each step with both the heel tip and the toe box contacting the surface at the same time, which doesn't help the graceful action of walking when the sound of a toddler's clopping is heard from an adult walking in high heels.
