Oh, I thought you meant lace not laces. But yeah, you can cut those to. Just redress the ends by wrapping the end tightly with cellophane (clear transparent stuff) tape. Apply a lighter flame to the end to bond the whole thing together. Don't overdo it on the heat. You might want to practice with the length that you cut off before redressing the actual end.
