  1. I saw this shoe on the Frederick's of Hollywood website:

I must say that I've never seen such an exotic looking shoe (called "The Asian Inspired Pump") before. I don't where or when you'd wear a shoe like this, but it certainly is intruiging! And VERY pretty! :D

  2. JeffB:-)

I try to make mine last as long as I can and try to keep them looking as new as the day I bought them. When they need heel tips, I like to replace them before the heel is damaged. Cheers---

So do I, Dawn. I treat all my shoes with the greatest of care. I wrap them in small plastic bags, keep them in the original boxes they came in, check the tips weekly and polish them when neccesary. I doubt if women treat their shoes as well as we do. You'd think they would, but, from what we see on the streets, that isn't always the case.

  3. JeffB has said that here that he is employed by a "government" entity. Wheather at the local, state or federal level, I don't know. However, government agencies, not involved in security things, are quick to "hold" to politically correct postures and will usually avoid controversy at all costs. In addition, Jeff has also told us he's an African American. Now, how would it seem to the outside world if a government agency chose to discriminate against an impeccablly dressed (gay (?)) African American man for wearing high heels to work?

I had a lawyer friend of mine tell me once that the perfect client in a discrimination lawsuit was a cripple African American lesban with a hispanic sir name. Two out of 4 isn't a bad start and I don't know what Jeff's sir name is. Could it be hispanic? :D )

Good points indeed, Bubba! While I'm employed by the Federal government, we don't deal in security or stuff like that, we just process resumes for applicants wishing to get federal jobs, not earth shaking or important.

I don't think the color of my skin or sexual preference (for the record, I'm straight) has hindered my superiors from any sort of discrimination against me. If they found the shoes I wear distateful, I would have been told about that in no uncertain terms long ago.

Oh, and my surname isn't Hispanic!

What a great outfit, and those shoes just top, (or should I say - Bottom), off your office wear magnificently. WOW!!! They really look great on you. That certainly WAS money well spent. You must have broken them in while wearing them at the office. Fantastic look, and comfortable too! Can't beat THAT combination. Cheers---

Yeah! Everything just came together that day! Shoes, outfit, the whole nine yards! I can't remember the last time I felt that special! That, people, is why I wear high heels! Openly and proudly! :D

  5. It's such a thrill to wear heels which are always fun. I get such a special feeling when I'm in my pumps that men's shoes can't match in a million years. And people say I look perfectly natural in heels and can't imagine me in anything else! :D

  6. JeffB:-)

Those are a very nice set of mules. Go for them and as usual be sure to let us all know the outcome at the office. Any chance of any pics of you in them at your desk, or any of your shoes for that matter? Cheers---

Funny you should mention that. I am working on putting together my pics to show off on one of those free picture hosting sites. I'll be sure to keep everyone appraised of my progress.

  7. Well, to answer your questions:

HHL: People used to ask why early on when I started wearing heels, and I always told them the same thing: because I like to. But no one bothers with that anymore as co-workers pretty much EXPECT to see me in heels now. Thanks for the compliment. :D

Chris: Our complex employs nearly 200 people and I'd say the ratio of women to men is at least 8 to 2. Another factor that's made what I do all the easier.

  8. And then there's the other way around: If I see a drop dead gorgeous woman wearing an ugly pair of shoes like, say, those horrid Chinese slippers, I find that to be a complete turn-off. But that's just me! :D

  9. Even though this might be jumping the gun, here's a pair of shoes that's piqued my interest:

By "jumping the gun", the office throws a Christmas party at a swanky hotel every year where everyone dresses up and has a good time. I was thinking of getting my hands on these mules and pairing them with a snazzy all-black outfit and wowing the masses. The matching handbag would be optional! What do you think?

  10. It's kinda funny for us to look at girls more for the shoes they happen to be wearing than how beautiful they look! A girl could look like the southbound end of a northbound horse, but if she's got on a killer pair of pumps, I'm interested!

  11. I bet you have co-workers drooling all over themselves eyeballing your fabulous new pair.

Yeah! You could say that! When I told co-workers that the pumps were eelskin, they were quite amazed, most saying they had never seen shoes like mine before. A few were shocked when I mentioned how much the shoes cost, admittedly they cost a pretty penny at $101.00 (the most I've spent to date), but it was definitely money very well spent, just for all the attention I got that day!

    :D

  12. JeffB:-)

Now your catching on! Your beginning to experiment with other colors, isn't it time to experiment with other styles of pumps also? Variety is the spice of life, so they say. Cheers---

    Dawn HH

Well, I've already started wearing slingbacks, perhaps (heavy emphasis on perhaps) I might give mules a try. We'll see! :D
