  1. Finally found some affordable high wedges! Where did I find these online? I think maybe it was a one-line ad after signing out of HHPlace? Anyway, they were only $14.90!!! Paprika from Houser Shoes. Very high, 1.5"+ platform, 6"+ heel. I'm not a fan of high platforms, but these were so sexy looking that I couldn't pass up the price. Very stylishly shaped, which means a narrow sole due to tapered sides, so not so easy on carpet or soft surfaces.

I do not have a lot of wedges - but I did get this pair of white ones. I will have to take some pictures of them on - but here is one of just the shoes.

There are so many choices for women and not enough for men. I love wearing leggings too. I bought some from Newport News - on line . They hav ethe scrunch style that gather a little at the ankles. Look great with all style pumps and ankle boots.

You have chosen many nice tops - just pick one and go for it. Share a few pictures when you buy one.

    Have fun,

  3. The angel's message

I've been a fan of ballet boots for a while. At some point it struck me that they would be an appropriate shoe for a being unconstrained by gravity and wanting by nature to have as little contact with the physical world as possible.

I strived for a composition that was graceful and not so fetish. The color palette was inspired by a sunset.

For a first attempt I don't hate it.

    Meeny:

Awesome illustrations and talent. Thanks for sharing with us.

  4. Bern,

Thanks for that. Looks like you got quite a pair of shoes, too. RadioDave and I saw those at DSW the other day. They're Sam Edelman's, as I recall. Looked awesome, but I thought they'd wear out the carpet in the car if I drove in them. :irked: Wear them to the next heel meet, Bern. They look great and being as you're a tool and guy kinda guy, those bit and pieces on the heel fit right in with your line of work! LOL.

    Steve

Interesting observation Steve. Must be what attracted them to me! You nailed it on the brand! They are very comfortable and I will wear them to the next meet!

    Thanks, Bern

  5. Aw, it's too bad that the rendezvous didn't work out this time. Hey, Bern, ya can't let yer biz interfere with yer hobbies! Get yer priorities straight! LOL

    Just kiddin'.

    Steve

I wish I could just retire and had enough money to just travel around and organize heel meets in different parts of the country. Then we could really get this male heel movement in motion. Anyone want to sponsor me?:irked:

    Just have to keep trying.

  6. David,

I just returned from a 3 day sales trip and have to go on the road again next week. We have a customer in Lima Ohio that we built some dies and weld equipment. They are ready for the die tryout and I need to take one of my Techs there for a couple of days.

I will not be able to join you this week:(

Please go to Sagatuck if you can. It is a unique little town with many little stores and great restaraunts. Walley's is a great place to go for Perch.

I look forward to the next time we can heel together.

    Hi Bern,

I arrive at 2:30pm into O'Hare, after renting the car and on the road, should be at the hotel in Grand Rapids by 7pm. I am staying right near the Grand Rapids Airport. Can meet either 1/2 way or at Sagatuck.

Would be great to meet Mrs Bernheels.

Is Stiletto 2004 able to join us?

    David

  7. The other day, RadioDave and I got together, had lunch and went shoe shopping. He wore Jessica Simpson black wedge sandals with about a 5" heel and 1" platform, with a wide criss-cross strap over the foot. I wore Naturalizer sandals in midnight blue with a 2" block heel. They had two wide straps over the foot. After lunch at Panera's, where nobody seemed to notice us, we walked over to DSW in the same strip mall. We were greeted cheerfully by the staff, and asked several times over the next hour whether we needed any help finding anything. Dave said he usually is recognized by the staff there, but this was a new crew he hadn't seen before. Anyway, we browsed the store for about an hour or so, looking at all the women's choices - lots of gorgeous shoes. Good thing I'm not a woman or I'd have a house full of shoes and no bank balance!

I finally decided to buy a closeout pair of brown suede BOC clogs ("Aimee" with a 3.5" cuban heel) for half price and a comfortable and very walkable pair of Aerosoles sandals (Rottery Tickey - http://www.shoesgotsole.com/Aerosoles-ROTTERY-TICKET-002-ARS2749.html ) in black. Dave didn't buy anything there. I had no problem trying them on in the store before I bought, to make sure I liked the fit, which I did, very much. While we were in the store, Dave and I both spotted a tween girl and her mother taking phone camera photos of us. No big deal, but it would be nice if they asked first.

So I made my purchases and we went over to Macy's nearby, looked around there for a bit, walked down the mall to Dillard's, looked around there, and finally returned to Macy's where Dave bought a nice pair of gladiator wedges in black. He can tell you more about those if he wants. We were tired from all the walking, so we went back to his place, hung out till a rainstorm was over, then I left, driving home in my new sandals. All in all, it was a great day, lots of fun shopping, getting far fewer looks than I expected, and each of us getting some new shoes we loved. And trying them on in the store was definitely the way to go!

    Steve

Great description Steve and thanks for sharing. Glad you had a great day shoe shopping!

  8. I was traveling this week and always stop in at a DSW store that I have not been to yet. Kind of a search and find game of mine. I saw these and had to have them. I didn't buy them the 1st time there - but when traveling home - I decided to put some thigh high stockings on and try them on at the store.

I had on dark thigh highs and some slip on man shoes that I could sit down and slid off my man shoes and slide those beautiful pumps on. Felt great and they fit great - they are a size 11 female. I walked up and down the aisle to make sure they fit well. One sales lady came over and said that I had great taste and looked good in them. I thanked her and bought them.

    Hope you like,

I love those wedges - good choice. How are they for walking in? I do not have many wedge heels - may have to check them out. Have fun - send pictures of you wearing them.

  11. David, Where will you be staying on Tuesday night? 3.5 hrs from O'hare is plenty of time. If you stay in GR then it is 40 minutes to Sagatuck from GR. Let me know and I can meet you somewhere in between and then go to Sagatuck - or just meet you there. I am about 25 minutes from Sagatuck. Maybe I could get the wifeto join us? Let me know what your schedule is so we can plan. Bern

  12. I would have to say that I love all high heels and styles. I do lean towards peep toe pumps - but I have many closed toe pumps to. I have all style of heels in my closet. I usually shop at DSW in the clearance racks at the back of the store. I wear size 11 female and they always have some great styles to choose from. Some are 50% off their normal discounted price.

Here are just a small amount of what is in my closet.

  13. Heely1: Thanks for the compliments. I bought the 1st pair of tan peep toes at Shoe Carnival - tried them on in the store. They know me now and I buy many heels from them. I also bought a black leather pair in the same style. I love the heels in your avatar - yummm Bernheels

  14. Hey David, There is a town just south of GR called Sagatuck - very gender friendly. I wear my heels there often. Maybe we could head down there and walk around and have a mini heel meet. I may have to think of a disguise - Know some people in the area. It would be fun - no hassle. Let me know what night works for you. Sounds like fun. Let's do it Bern

  15. I have purchased these over the past few weeks. Mainly from the clearance racks at DSW Stores or Shoe Carnival.
