  1. So I was surfing Google on Men in heels and came across a lot of atricles and forums discussing the issue with no outright belief that women and society in general are really acceptable of men in heels. But what I saw in a lot of the replies made me shiver. A lot of men point oit very graphically their perversions towards heels and how they use them as sexual objects (or would I say Mis-use). In all fairness i don't think that any person would take men in heels seriously as a fashion if they keep on seeing men in heels with their productive organs taking centre stage or men telling the world just how much they like to have sexual acts with high heels. In all fairness I agree that people do have their personal choice in fetishes and I don't have the right to tell them they're wrong. But throwing it blatantly in peoples faces like this is making society in general believe that if you are a man wearing heels you surely fall into the same catagory and see you as perverted and sick. How many woman of men try to do the same search and end up with these results? How are we as as men wearing heels then going to explain that we do it for the wearing of a mere garment rather than a sexual fetish/perversion?

  2. I played Crysis on a Dual Core with a Radeon 2900XT card and it ran very smooth. I now sit with a Quad Core processor and can't wait for Far Cry 2. If it's anything like the first Far Cry it would be awesome. Played through FEAR and enjoyed it emensely athough it was scary at times. The quake series and Unreal tournament was also excellent games.

  3. Remedy: A plan to make it happen...

I am a heterosexual male who does not crossdress, nor am I transgendered. I do believe however, that the only thing that should dictate what gender an article of clothing is for, is the anatomy that it is made for... Not the time period, nor the culture norms of that time.

However, in this mediocre world, fashion has accepted mainstream guidelines set for both genders. Since the focus is on high heels for men; these guidelines are...

    • When you buy heels, the heel of the shoe should come pretty close to matching the your calf, respectively. An obese man wearing six inch stilettos just does not look right, but at the same rate, he could get away with the same heel height as long as the heel was thicker. Even women have been following these guidelines. Keeping this in mind, shoes should be designed with the male calf in mind. As far as wedges are concerned, I think wedges were a born symbol of unisex footwear, that is as long as it doesn't break any of the other rules....
    • Heels with thin sandal straps would be the equivalent of a muscular man wearing a spaghetti strap halter top... it just wouldn't look right. Men's tank tops have thick straps for a reason. The same should be applied for men's high heeled sandals.
    • Not one pair of men's flat shoes, with an emphasis on a pointed toe, has a pointed toe. They have always been squared or rounded off at the tip. On the other hand, women's shoes of the same style, have always come to a point at the end. I think this trend should be observed when wearing heels for men, but only if an emphasis is being put toward a pointed toe. Note: I'm sure the details can be debated.
    • I have yet to see a pair of men's shoes with an opening on the top. It has always been closed off as a way to hide the hair on top of a man's foot. If anyone is going to take heels for men seriously, then heels with this opening should not be in your wardrobe.
    • In the end, a man can wear any style of shoes, boots, and even ballet boots, as long as the insole is shaped for the male. You could even make it pink with lots of feminine bows, but if the insole is shaped for a man, then it's obviously made for the man. Unfortunately, people don't follow my view of what classifies the gender of clothing, so the guidelines above will have to be put in place.

Very good points that you placed, but I tend to disagree on a few points just because I can. As aslo a heterosexual married man in a world that wants to force me into a shape that I'm not I tend to feel that irrespective of a woman's calf size, very little would be said on the type of heel she would be wearing or the thicknes of her sandal strap. As with men even a 4" block heel would be frowned upon. This is purely due to the social norms we are forced to accept as most men are not secure enough in themselves to dress less manly than what society accepts. As for male shoes not having pointed toes I'll have to disagree as I have three pairs of male shoes with pointed toes and higher than normal male mode shoes.

For too long men did not really care about how they looked and fashion fell into that groove creating the monotonous fashion we today have. Men should hide their ego's and start looking at how the look.

  4. For god's sake women didn't do anything except celebrate centuries of oppression by wearing what the hell they liked. Have you ever worn a corset? I have. It's fun and feels really lovely but there is not a chance you could make me wear one every day of my life and let it's iron grip stop me from riding my bike or climbing trees.

When women get the chance to be equal to men in pay and social status then you can moan at them about your choice to wear what you like.

Get over the fact that men in heels looks odd to some people and they have every right to say they don't like it. Just don't blame anything on women only. That's called hate.

Get out there and make a change. Sadly the change won't be instant.

Thanks for the inputs but you might have missed the point a bit. I do wear corsets from time to time, as well as skirts, makeup and sometimes nailpolish. Sometimes I even wear it all together. The point is that very little women will truely accept feminine articles of clothing on men. Being in a country where women gets the best jobs and better pay as companies are forced to do employment equity by law, you can say that that women gained that equallity.

If you read between the lines you'll also see that the main intension is not pure Hate as you would like to put it and it's not saying that everything is blamed on women. But the truth is that I understand what Pumps is feeling and trying to say. And women will have to change their mindset dramatically to accept men in anything feminine.

  5. It was an example. It's like that everywhere the subject of men in any kind of feminie clothing comes up. Everywhere ! I dare you to prove me wrong.

I agree, it's as if women think they have the patent right to "claim" what ever they wear (or start to wear for that matter). If they wear something from men's wardrobes it's a "sexy masculine" look if men wears anything nearly resembling feminine its seen as crossdressing and men as Transvestites (no offence to either) women created the walls we now have to break down to wear high heels or what ever they claimed to be theirs.

And don't think they'll let those baricated walls fall easilly.........

  6. that's a hot pair PiB... and i think it fits the bill. the micro heel of today though don't have that taper.

in my past experience.. steel reinforced helps keep the heel from breaking. it's so thin. i knew a few folks who lost their heel because it was plastic.. and as they walked... it broke.

so.. it's good to reinforce a heel when it's really thin. because the forces on it is brought on a small area.

    RPM

p.s. the Brazil pair by Highest Heel is another example of a micro-heel (as modelled by my wife)

I Also have the Brazil pair. Wonderfull stilleto's but not that Micro in heel size. I have a 4" pair of boots with thinner heels.

  7. We have a day called casual day, where you buy a sticker and the proceeds go to Disabled persons. On these days you can dress up, down, freaky, funny or wacky. So this one year I dressed like a hippie in platforms to work. Needless to say the platforms was beige 5" heels with a 3/4" platform. The building I worked in had death traps for elevators so I usually took the stairs. This particular day it had been a little bit busy and going up the staris had to happen faster than normal. Halfway between floor 4 and 5 my one foot stopped in midair with the other about to leave the step. The platform threw me out just enough to et caught on the step and I did a swan dive down the stairs. With no damage apart from abruised ego, I started up the stairs at a more reasonable pace, atking into acount the heels of course....

  8. Well, as for me. My costume is going to be a Gothic School Girl. I have black knee high vinyl 5 inch chunky heel boots, Black Fishnets, a short grey and black plaid skirt, a black blouse with the sleeves rolled up a bit, a black and white plaid narrow neck tie, a black curly wig with pig tails, and black lipstick eyeline, and nailpolish. And we'll (being My gf, a couple of her friends and I) be going to the local university's bar. So tons of collage students around my age will be there. No pics yet, but I promise I'll post a couple afterwards.

We have our party a little after halloween on 10 November, I'll be doing a Goth guy in heels. Floor length skirt, corset, white shirt, black tie. Full armlength fishnet gloves (and fishnets on the legs) with heavy dark makeup and nails done in black with wite tips. Done most of the needle work myself including the corset of which I'm very proud of.

Just have to choose the footwear style for this. I have 5,5" round toe block heel platforms or very pointy 4" stiletto boots.

Will post some pics after the party.

  9. Quick update on the issue is that I made my own halloween outfit from scratch except the fishnets on my legs, my shirt and my heels. The corset and skirt came out perfect but I'm still in doubt as to what heels to wear. My heel choices are: 5'5" round toe block heel boots with a 2" platform or 4" very pointy stilletto boots(my points is longer than kneehigh's pumps  ) Although I use goth as theme, I dont want to look like a goth transvestite. So wich boots will do better?
