  1. @Kilty, I'm impressed by how well you handled being 'outed' to your family friend regarding the skirt. Sounds like it went well even without your SO's support. As more folks find out and are cool about it, I imagine your wife will be too. As for your pictures being picked up online and finding their way to those who might not approve, simple fix is to remove your face from the picture, or any other defining detail. There's a myriad of free photo-editing software online or if you upload to a host like Photobucket/Picassa/etc, you get options that allow you to edit it, cut out descriptive features, etc. Looking forward to hearing more about your skirt & heels adventures in time! Chris

  2. @Rartist Consider picking up a pre-pay credit card. You should be able to load up the card with your cash savings at a bank or some department stores and then use it online like a normal credit card. Personally I find these are perfect for hiding my purchases from my SO and also makes savings easier to hide too! Have a look into it, it might open up a whole load of options for your future high-heel purchases! Chris

  3. Hi Kilty, Personally I say always go for the stall and just sit. Nothing would mess up your day more than being a little off the mark and getting something wet. Sure, the gents stalls are almost always less than sanitary but it's the better alternative IMO. Chris

  4. Nope, I'm well and truly an addict. It's the games on there that keep me addicted - I don't really care what other people are doing, I just enjoy burning half my 'spare time' on there  and I think I'll go take a look at that page there... [update] *amused by the self-advertisement *

  5. I must agree with the others that, on the right legs with the right outfit, they do look pretty darn good. I think it also has something to do with which of the vast array of UGG boots the is being worn too...

  6. I now go to two or three shops in London where I know they stock size 42. Originally I saw this size in their windows, but now I have made friends with the salespeople who are always happy for me to try shoes on in the shop. One shop now calls me up if they have a new style which they think I will like.

^^ THAT is what I call service!

Entirely on the high street for me, and only because I love to be in my heels while shopping for more.

I actually find being in heels in the first place makes trying on so much easier for me, as I've entered the store wearing what I intend to try on - there's no illusion as to what I'm about!

  7. How do you get over the trousers suddenly being too long when you change into flats?

Turn them up inside the leg just enough to keep them off the floor yet leave them sitting on the shoe. It's not perfect but does well enough for the walk into the house and to the bedroom to get changed after work!

  8. @Chrisinheels: I agree with Partyshoes here, from experience women tend to jump to the 'are you gay?' question pretty quickly when it comes to what she considers female attire. There's loads of quality advice and stories regarding breaking it to the SO so I won't hijack this thread any longer with that. Back OT, I only wish I could. Instead I'm dropping off my offspring at a house party and having a sensible night in with the wife. Safe to say the only high heels I'll see tonight will be on the feet of others. Chris

  9. @jwhite44: I only have the one pair of long trousers at the moment, so the boots will come out as and when my trousers make it through the wash cycle. Today the office is packed and still no-one has noticed anything. Everyone is happily going about their day. A 15minute standing chat with the receptionist outside my office went by without comment or any sign of notice, as have the regular visits into the bosses office for brainstorming/thought bashing/etc. Wearing 4inch heeled boots all day has been absolutely fine so far with no real discomfort beyond having hotter feet than normal. @HHDude: Thanks. After a few days wearing the same style outfit it pretty much feels normal. I now see putting my flats on to go home in the same light as I believe many see taking their heels off as they get home, and that's the lifestyle I've wanted for years. @Tacchi: I feared as much, though thankfully the trousers actually hit the floor and fall under the heel a little, so not too much heel is being shown while I walk. (I too had to video myself walking using my phone several times before believing enough in the outfit to be able to wear it!) Chris

  10. @Softmover: Yea, I almost expected some kind of odd look from at least one colleague but it seems no one noticed. I imagine if the pants were regular length showing off the boot a little then someone might have said something. As it is, the boot is pretty well covered up. In fact, I didn't realize how covered up it was until I took this picture a moment ago:

    (clicky!)

A better shot of the boots:

  11. Doesn't anyone noticed the difference in your height?

Shockingly not! The boots have a 4inch heel but no-one has noticed anything yet.

That said, two of the admin staff (the only women in the office!) are off sick this week. I imagine that when they're back in the office they might notice. The rest of the guys here haven't said a thing if they have noticed...

  12. I just realized I never voted or commented here.

I love the height of heels. I wouldn't wear them if it wasn't for the heel height and I often find myself more attracted to the higher heeled models than the lower ones. Honestly I feel that in larger sizes a lower heel looks almost frumpy.

That said, I only buy heels for their style. Sure, sometimes the attraction is that the style is radical, crazy or a little beyond what most women would wear to a night club, but I still buy for style over heel height.

An option for 'both' might have covered my rambling a bit easier though...

  13. I decided I should drop a minor update on here following from today's continued success. Yesterday I bought a pair of black mens slacks in a longer leg length that normal with the intention of trying them out with heels at work today. I pulled my 4inch block heeled boots out from their box, threw the slacks on over the top and dressed for work as normal. The slacks sit just off the floor when walking so the heel it pretty much totally hidden. I've spent the whole day without comment or notice from my colleagues and boss, even taking the time to have a nice chat with the boss in the canteen over a coffee and he didn't notice anything different at all. I think providing I steer clear of my abundant stiletto collection for a while, no-one will even notice. I can't tell you how darn liberating it is to be able to get up and walk about without switching to my boring-as-hell shoes first!

  14. Hi folks,

So I've worn these boots a few times now in deserted public places and though they're not really a challenge to walk in, they're a challenge to survive. The boots are branded "Bebo" - a name I've never heard of and doesn't show up on google.

The boots (as with the shoes) have a distinctive fragrance that I'm putting down to the glue used in manufacturing. It's not a repulsive smell - in fact it almost smells of strawberries - but it's not something I've come across before with more mainstream brands.

I did some digging around and came across a website that stocks the same shoes at a slightly lower price to what I paid. I can't comment on their quality but if they're just a re-brand of the same boots I bought (and I'm currently wearing with a little discomfort with the hope of a little stretching!) then my thoughts should still apply if your interested.

    (online retailer is www.chockersshoes.co.uk)

The boots I purchased were the following: (clicky!)

These run small by at least a whole size. They're tight across the top of my feet and the arch feels like it makes too much contact and presses into my foot slightly too much to be 'comfortable' when sat down. My first 200meter stroll in these boots left my feet feeling like I'd broken something. They were bright red, swollen and in considerable discomfort. That effect has somewhat reduced as I've worn them more so I'm hoping it's more down to the tightness of the boots then anything else. There's plenty of padding in the them though, so as that beds in hopefully the tightness will ease off too.

As for the outer material, I've already managed to knock a tiny piece of the black coating from the tip of the left toe box and there's several small indentations where the heels have laid on the boot while in their box so I'll firmly say the plastic material isn't durable at all.

The shoes I originally went for are these : (clicky!)

The ones shown here have a red sole while the ones I tried on didn't. I tried on a size 8 (and I normally wear a 7). My toes were so crammed into the shoe box that my little toe was visibly pushing out of the shoe - you could see it's shape pushing on the side of the shoes!

Ironically, put the brand "Bebo" in Ebay and it shows up with these exact shoes with the "Bebo" branding selling for over £100. I can certainly say they're not worth that much.

I do feel slightly odd wearing them in public to be honest. The shape and size of the boots to me would suit an outfit that showed off a lot of leg and that unfortunately isn't my style. Perhaps if I was to have a night out on the town I might consider these if I had the right outfit but I certainly don't see myself doing anything other than drinking/dancing in them.

If anyone has any experience with Chocker shoes or could confirm that the version of these shoes they sell are more true to size, let me know and I might consider grabbing a pair just to say I have them :)

  15. Following on from my earlier venture this week, I went out and did a little shopping wearing a nice cream cardie over a red v-neck shirt, boot cut jeans and a pair of 4 inch ankle boots with a thick-ish (not block) heel. Minutes after getting out of my car i walked past a cash machine with two lads withdrawing cash. One of which wolf whistled (which made me laugh). Hardly anything but it was the first vocal reaction to my heels so I was happy in a way. After doing my shopping I stopped in dune and bought a new pair of stiletto boots (i must stop buying so much! Lol), I switched to the new boots and walked right across town back to my car. Along the way two guys in their 30s driving a subaru slowed down to match my pace and shouted "are you for f***ing real?", then sped off laughing. It didn't knock my confidence at all, in fact I intend to take my new boots out again tomorrow, but how do you guys deal with folks like that? I'm not sure how I'd have dealt with it had the two guys been on foot and in my face. I'm more the flight type, rather than fight. Chris.

  16. Well folks, thank you very much for the support. The store is an independent retailer who doesn't have a website, located in the north west. I dropped in earlier today and tried on the pumps (black version to those shown by benno) and their largest size was just too tight for me. I almost cried. I tried on a pair of thigh heigh boots in a similar style which fit my feet but wouldn't zip up. I finally tried the ankle boots again in the same style, and they fit perfectly, so I handed over my money and walked the half mile back to my car in them. I'm tempted to just buy the pumps too next week in the hope they stretch enough to give my toes some room. Thanks again for the support. Now I just need a good pair of pants to wear with them :) Chris Ps. Pics should follow in a few days.

  17. I need advice folks. I'm on the verge of doing something a bit daft, even for me. I recently came across a store that stocks shoes "in the style of" louboutin daffodil's. Now, I'm not really a fan of the idea of wearing replicas though the shoes are not trying to be a copy, only similar. No red soles, much cheaper (50£), cut not quite the same, etc. I love them. In fact I've been in love with them since I saw them in the media on the feet of several famous women. And I seriously think I'd never be able to look even half reasonable in them. I own nothing in my wardrobe that I think I could wear with them, but I love them. So I'm torn. I love them and want them, but they're not originals and might never wear them. Help! Chris

  18. Firstly, I do admire your quick thinking there. Very sharp. However I do agree with the other guys here.Wearing heels is a pleasure and we should have enough pride to stand tall and accept that others might judge us but for our own passion we're willing to accept it and keep going! You already stepped past the barrier of feeling judged when you took your heels outside, so lying doesn't really make sense. Anyway, that aside, my condolences for the loss of your mother. I hope the issues are sorted swiftly and as pain-free as possible. Take care, Chris

  19. StormClaw, I admire you for keeping such a level-headed approach to how this played out. I think the fella who hit on you was pretty creepy in general. The two times I've been hit on by another guy were simple encounters. I wasn't essentially stalked back to my car after the initial conversation!

In heels or otherwise, a lot of men will be hit on by other men at some point in our lives, just like the countless women who get hit on by men when they have no interest in men in general! Firm, calm, polite "No thanks" quickly gets through and when it doesn't, I'm sure you can be creative :)

Don't let it put you off. Realistically, it should be a compliment even if it came across really badly.

    Chris
