  1. I agree with most of you. Walking on downtown streets and getting my heels caught in cracks and grates drives me crazy and makes me mad. Scratches your heels all to pieces and wrecks the heel tips. Note to the mayor ,fix our sidewalks.

you gotta becareful what you walk...i never wanna break my heels in the crack

    Thanks for your offer Alicia,

  2. Those scrapes were nothing to do with driving. I would never drive in heels anyway. Since almost having a bad accident, I wear flats in the car. I keep them under the seat. Actually the only flats I have left live under car seats.

you can drive in heels , i often drive in my boots with 4 to 5 inches heels. All you have to do is raise your seat higher and slide back, so you can have more legs room. Depends on your model of your car. My bmw x5 allows me to do that. Also , you can also put a nice fur or leather mat/rug on the floor, so when you piviot your heels on the pedals, they won't get damaged.

  3. Recently I had a MAJOR project at work that involved working with 3 different companies, one in France, one in Germany and one in Poland. I had to help orchestrate and co-ordinate the project between the different offices so I would often go to one office, work the day, then take the train to an office in another country, catching sleep on the train and/or at the hotel, then rushing into the office in another country.

When I am not working, I wear heels at the office but change into Uggs at home for comfort. However, during a crazy 4 day, 3 night spell, I did not go home at all. It was rush from one country to another country via train as the delicate procedures did not allow me to do most things remotely. During this entire time, I changed business suits everyday but I wore the same pair of black, fur lined, knee high boots with 3 inch block heels for almost the entire 4 days and 3 nights! The only time they came off was when I was in the hotel showering. After that, it was get dressed and rush back to work or at least to meet up with people to talk business over dinner or a drink.

My legs aren't used to wearing such high heels for an extended period of time like that but the fur lining in my leather dress boots helped offset some of the stress along with my thick nylons. By the third day, my ankles, calf and knee muscles were getting tired, especially with all the walking I had to do. I didn't have any other shoes to change into but I did have socks so I added a pair of socks over my pantyhose to give myself even more padding to survive those 4 days and 3 nights. When I got home yesterday, I was so extremely exhausted I fell asleep after taking off my business suit jacket. I am awake now and my pencil skirt along with blouse is in need of a good ironing. Amazingly, my black knee high, fur lined boots with 3 inch block heels are still on. I think I have gotten used to wearing such high heels now, as long as I have sufficient padding on inside to help.

I travel alot too, if i were you I will bring a couple pair of boots with me in the suitcast. So i don't have to wear the same boots everyday.

  4. When you wear heels make sure your floor mat in the car is not catching the heels and causing a hazard. For example I drive a x5 I move my seat to the rear and adjust to my new height. If you just put on a 4 to 5 inches heel you can't drive in the same position because you've changed your height. When you move the seat it will feel more natural and your ankles and knees won't hurt as much. You also won't catch the toe of the shoes/boots in the pedals causing a hazard and making you miserable. Also I used to drive a manual car with high heels and the heels get very scuffed....so i opt for an automatic...much easier ...just need to find another excuse now to buy yet another pair of shoes now lol.. Besides, the summer is coming, beware of animals on the road.

  5. metal heels or metal heels tips can last longer, i don't see why not. Most of my boots have the metal heels or metal heels tips, those older boots with plastic heels tips, i bring them to the shoesmith and get them replaced

  6. the heel tips of my otk boots coming loose and worn. The shoe repairer told me the new heel tips might not help, since they won't hold steady. Is there anyway I can do it myself? They are like a year old and I only wear them to the club dancing. I need detail instruction pls.. ALicia

  7. How many of you wear leggings with your favor shoes or boots? I usually wear jeans but I am fond of leggings as well. They are tight fit and warm. I prefer to wear my high heel boots over them. Sometimes I would put on my wool coat or sweater dress on top depends on my mood and the weather. and one more thing don't tie your hair and add a few waves if you can and wear a nice black beret. The point is to make the tights stand out. Good luck and don't forget the most important accessory- CONFIDENCE!

  8. I just purchased a pair of high heels boots with smooth leather. The soles on the ball of the boots is really slippery, I slide when I walk on new carpet installed on the floor of office lobby and it is not much better on tiles or floorboards. It will take sometimes to break them in and I don't wanna use sand paper for the leather soles. Can I do something to fix this? Or should I leave it with the professionals and get a shoe repairer to fix it. Alicia

  9. I agree with all of you. There is no way for me to wear Ugg boots to work in the classy office, especially in this cold winter. But also don't forget the choice of color is important too. Usually I wear black or dark brown leather boots to match up with my business skirt suits or pants suits and my leather handbags. Not to mention, the footwears need to be polished daily.
