  1. I have seen this look before many times, and I thought that it looks, great! It works out fine if you're not used to wearing fishnets or the weather is alittle too chilly, or you want a more "dramatic look!" I've also seen this look worn by show girls and exotic dancers and alike! I close female friend of mines tried a nice "day sheer" pantyhose under a pair of cargo net fishnets and she loved how it looked and she did get some nice comments! So I say, "go for it!" Just about anyone can pull it off. jay_nyca1
  2. I have to say I'm not really a fan of Fuzzy slippers, but you do see them out and about in various places! I've seen some worn with prom dresses and evening dresses, and I've heard of some brides even being married in them! Some girls and younger women have been know to wear them with pajama pants with tank tops, and it won't be the first time that I've seen them worn by some women in the office and some shop & sales girls in certain stores. But I do find them "cute" and I do like the ones with the cute little "peek-a-boo" toes and the thong "flip-flop" styles! jay_nyca1

  3. I don't know if this is a universal thing, but I have seen some women and young girls with tattoos on there feet and toes? I was curious as to your toughts on this?. . . . Please do respond no matter your opinion?. . . . jay_nyca1

  4. I'm, I only wish that I could have been around for those days! Naturally I'd love to have been around for the late 30's and all through the 40's and right through to the 50's and mid 60's! When women dressed like women, and some wouldn't even get dressed without a pair of hose on! And naturally she'd be wearing a pair of heels, even if they'd be considered "low" by today's standards. As for the clothes, a women wouldn't call herself "decent" in anything less than a nice dress or skirt suit, and she's be a match right down to her hat, gloves, hand bag and shoes!. . . . And of course, sneakers, or tennis shoes were basically "forbiden" out of a sports type of setting! Casual for some would be maybe a pair of tailed women's slacks and some basic flat pumps, al la "Lucille Ball" in I Dream of Lucy and she had broken some molds for her dressing like that, then. And back then, women used to go to dress shops and have things made for them or they would have sewn things themselves. Her shoes would have either came from her dress shop or either a department store or a nice shoe store. And as for lingerie,

most things were pretty much either silk, satin or lace with not that much elastic or spandex, cause those things were expensive back then and during WWII there was a material drive for nylons, rubber, and silk, especially in the US and the UK at that time. Oh how I wish that I could have been around back in the "Heyday of Womens' fashions!. . . .

  5. hi how did the 50/60's stiletto closed high heel shoe differs from its 80's,90's and today counterpart

First of all, back then, things were nearly hand made either byshoe cobblers or by well trained workers in shoe factories, and naturally, all leather hides were used in the making of the shoes, and in some instances, the hides were hand sellected and hand treated & dyed before the shoes were made or cobbled. And back then, sizing was alot different too, you could be a pair of shoes that were wide in the toes and narrow in the heels, and vise versa, abd some were being made from custom foot lasts if you go high up the price scale. And of course the styling is alot different between what was made back then and what is made in the last 20 years or so! You can't compensate for quality! Alot of shoes that are being mass produced now are being made in China and other second world or third world countries and that kind of quality from back then has gone. Only in some of the higher end and high end designer shoes do you see some quality, but at the exspense of high prices! I hope that this answers your questions?

  6. Yes! I have to say that I'm a hugh fan of the vintage stilletto high heels of the late 50's and early 60's when they were first introduced! It's too bad that the real vintage examples are getting more harder and harder to find and I don't think that the "modern" versions of those styles even come close, even in the new designer ones, as nice as they are. For my opinion, you can't beat the vintage heels, bar none!. . . . Good luck in your quest for you vintage heels, Anita! And to all the others that are seeking vintage heels, too!. . . . . jay_nyca1

  7. Naturally there are so many different types of hosiery now on the market, and I was wondering if there was any particular affinity for any particular types? Some love fishnets, some love textured & knitted, and some love the modern type of sheer hose and some love the vintage style flat-knit of either silk or nylon, and you have some that like the opaque solid tights. I'd be curious to see how everyone responds?. . . . jay_nyca1

  8. I have to admit that I love the look of stockings and heels when worn togethter because I think that they bout compliment each other! There isn't a better look! if you talking about vintage full fashioned back seamed stockings, they are best worn with skirts & dresses, more modern hose would be best suited for pants, slacks, jeans and leggings. jay_nyca1

  9. Yeah, You gotta have a "bullet bra" to really set off the '50's look! And naturally, only the really ones from that era are best, but are getting harder and harder to find in good condition or better. A real must for that "Betty Page" lookalike or wannabe!. . . . . jay_nyca1

  10. It's too bad that that era is over! I personally don't think that you'll see shoes made like that in that kind of quanity, again! Real examples are getting quite "rare & scarse" in anything over good condition!. . . .The new modern versions, just aren't the same. jay_nyca1

  11. I particually love the girdles from the late 30's the 40's and the 50's and early 60's the "Heyday" of sharewear! I particulary love the "open bottom girdles and the girdles with the split crotches and just about everything with laces, zippers and snaps!. . . How do you all feel about them?. . . . And needless to say, they're perfect for stockings and vintage style high heels!. . . . jay_nyca1
  12. You really gotta give a girl credit if she can wear a nice toe ring! But not all can get away with wearing them. A nice pedicure is needed or at very least, a good toe nail trim! If a person has hammer toes and bunions or and kind of toe or foot problem, then nix the toe rings. I have even seen some worn with day sheer hose and very sheer hose! Not bad in my opinion! And pretty much the same can be said for anklets, but I really don't mind any kind of nice leg, foot or toe jewelry, though. jay_nyca1

  13. Some companies and work places have a dress code policy about women must have on some sort of sock, stocking or hose with her shoes. Are there any who have heard of or personally know about such dress codes? These are mostly pervalent in companies that have businesses in "office set!" Please do feel free to add any comments, suggestions, or opinions? jay_nyca1

  14. For me, personally, you can't beat the nice "polished, finished look" that a pair of nice hose can give! Though I personally perfer the longer hose like stockings, thigh highs and full pantyhose. But even in the height of summer, theres' nothing better then the sight of some nice well pedicured toes in a nice pair of hose. Though it might be seen as a "fashion no-no" for a woman to have on hose with open toed shoes or a pair of sandals, but to me, there's nothing better! In some work places, some companies have a dress code about women must have on hosiery with shoes. Though sometimes this dress code is sometimes "relaxed" in summer or isn't tightly enforced, but I still love that look of some nicely pedicured toes in sheer hose with some nice open toed pumps (court shoes, to the folks in the UK) and some nice sandals. jay_nyca1

  15. I personally prefer pantyhose, thigh highs and stockings! Each one has there own merits and each one has an individual allure thats has it's own charm. Pantyhose, are quite easy to find, buy & wear and they can some in a vast array of sizes, textures and colors, and of course you have to option of the reinforced panty and the further option of with or without the "tummy control." And for those who like to wear pantyhose with sandals, you also have the choice of going with, "sandalfoot toe," too! The combinations are almost endless. And not to mention the different type of crotches, too! In some pantyhose some are "crotchless" right from the factory! Hmmmm, And I can't forget that lovely sound a woman makes when shes walking a pair of pantyhose while wearing a skirt or a dress! "Pantyhose is tops when it come to that!" To me it's like music to my ears, especially if the wearer is in a pair of high heels!. . . . Thigh highs, you have the near size and color options as the pantyhose, with the plus of not really needing a garter belt. And you can still have to option of having them with back seams and full reinforced heels & toes! And are easy to find in most major department stores, dress shops and some speciality shops. For those women who have a dress code of having to wear hose even during summer, thigh highs are hard to beat. Stockings, well. There's nothing classier then real gartered stockings, either with or without the back seams and reinforced heels & toes. For that real classic "authentic look," you can't do any better then real garter stockings! Knee highs are nice, and can do in a pinch if you can't find or wear pantyhose, thigh highs or stockings! For those who like to wear long pants and jeans, but still want the look of the longer hose, knee highs can fit the bill, but they never quite did it for me? Trouser socks, are just like knee highs but are of a thicker material and aren't as sheer. But some do come with heels and toes built in like socks, and are for "everyday wear" and can last longer then the above mentioned types of hose. And trouser socks are mainly for closed toe shoes and boots, not so much for open toe shoes or sandals. But for that classic "school girl" look, trouser socks are perfect for a school girls' knee socks! jay_nyca1
  16. I personally prefer the old fashioned back seamed flat knit stockings! You can't beat the classic look, fit, feel and of course the "sound of stockings" when worn as the thighs rub of the old flat knit nylons and silk stockings! Especially when worn with a nice pair of stillettos or some nice vintage style heels!. . . .I can't get over which type of heel designs I prefer, I love both "French" and "Cuban" heel types! . . . And you can't top the nude color with black back seems and foot reinforcements and the nude with the beige would be a very close second!. . . . . jay_nyca1
