  1. Thx, for the info, Adeana!. . . . A temporary tattoo could do the same trick on the foot, if one wanted too, a friend of mines tried it last summer when she wore sandals and flip flops, all summer!. . .

  2. Yes, Just about anyone can really benefit from a corset or girdle or some other type of control garment, and some are even made for men with men in mind either as for a "cross-dress" or for straight dressing. But thanks for your knowledgeable in put!. . . .

  3. Jasmine,

Your choice for some classic 5" high heel pumps are very nice, but would you consider a "slingback" pump, with pointed toes or a nice D' Orsay style pump?. . . . I'd love to know what you'd think?. . . .

  4. Yes, Dawn.

I know exactly how you mean. I have seen some old photos and video clips and movies of how women used to dress back then! I wish that I could have been around back then! I would have been in "heaven!" When women would have just been "dressed normally" but who knew back then? It's too bad that I don't think that that style of everyday dressing will ever come back, but I do have hope?

  5. Hi, Jasmine!

 If you like and you live in a nice sized metropolian area, you can try you local Gap, or Banana Republic a try! Those are pretty basic items and can be found pretty much anywhere. But the real question is what are you planning to do for hose & heels?. . . .

  6. chris, I really do like your answer, but you really don't see as much metal spike heels are you did, earlier. But some metal spike heels, do like great, in either a shoe or a boot, but I lean towards shoes then boots but I have seen some nice pairs of boots!

  7. I have to admit that I'm a big fan of the pointed toes high heels! They seam like a "natural' together and I'm glad that they're still in style. To me nothing looks more wicked that a nicely dressed woman in a short skirt sheer stockings and a pair of pointed toe stilletto high heels, on!. . . .

After all, this 'site isn't for the fans of "Cobble Cuddlers & Birkenstocks?"

  8. Hey, r1g0r, I know exactly what you mean, I'm sure you know that scene from "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" with Liz Taylor and Paul Newman where she's in her white slip and is standing in front of Paul Newman straightening the seams in her stockings while Paul character pretends not to notice or care! That was one of the first things that really got me when it came to a woman in her slip. It's too bad that slips aren't part of a womans' warddrobe any more? I guess that's the price we pay now for having Thongs and G-strings?. . . . . . jay_nyca1

  9. One of the reasons why I love the 50's era fashions is that back then, women used to wear foundations and shapewear (i.e. girdles, waist nippers, corsets) and they came in myiad of styles and configureations and with some of the girdles and some of the corsets, they even came with the adjustable elastic straps for stockings!. . . . Does any else share in this, too? If so or are curious, please do respond?. . . . jay_nyca1

  10. My really first exposure to high heels was when I was in the second grade in Catholic school! I had a teacher at that time that basically wore nothing but! She was Italian/Sicilian, so you know that she was a stunning looker, and thorough the school year, she wore her heels, and during the warm months, she wore her open toe heels and her strappy sandals to school with her nude or santan daysheer colored pantyhose, with her red painted toe nails! Man what a sight! Back at that time, lay Catholic school teachers had to conform to a dress code of having to wear dresses, skirts and hose with shoes! (A wonderful thing, to me!) I thought at that time, and when she sat at her desk, sometimes she'd dangle a shoe off of her pantyhose encased pedicured toes, or would sit with her shoes off! It has been overt thirty years and I can still tell you everything that she wore to this day!. . . . You really had to be there!. . . . That's my first acquaintance with high heels, and I have never regretted it!. . . . jay_nyca1

  11. Yeah, Sophia Loren and Gina Lollabridgitta were just two of my favorite Italian glamour queens from the 50's! Back then they really could dress from head to toe! I love watching their old movies on DVD from that post WWII era!. . . . And for you slip loving fans, you really must see "The Rose Tattoo" with Burt Lancaster and Anna Magnani! She's wearing a nice black silk slip and heels in most of the movie. I thought that I'd throw that in!. . . . jay_nyca1
  12. I love how women used to dress back then! That's one of the reasons why I love to check out the old movies from my local public library! I love what Liz Taylor wore in "Butterfield 8" and what Lana Turner wore in "A Perfect Life" You can't beat those kinds of clothes and Liz and Lana were some of the best at it! And I can't forget, "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof" either! I the scene where Liz is straighten her stocking seams in front of Paul Newman while she's in her slip is sheer "timeless!" And not to mention that she's in heels the whole time!. . . . . jay_nyca1
  13. Does anyone know about or has had and tried the "MircleHose" that are sometimes shown in the Infomercials on some Latin-American TV channels? I know that they do have a website some where on line, but I mainly wanted to know if anyone out there has tried them? And if so, hwat are your comments and suggestions about them? Thanks, jay_nyca1

  14. Well, If you wanted something for "everyday wear" and accessiablity is a problem, you can go with one of the major well known brands that are usually found in supermarkets, department stores & drug stores! If you want something alittle more specific, and you don't have alot of time to spare and can't wait for something to be ordered on line, those are some good places to start looking! If you want something light and sheer, I'd recommend that you have a good pedicure and your legs are freshly shaved, so you'll cut down on the problem of runs and snags. And be honest with your size, is also key! If you should happen to find some nice "vintage' stockings, a good pedicure and leg shave should be done, first. And take your time in putting them on, which is most of the battle. jay_nyca1

  15. Well, If finding the real "vintage"gartered stockings are difficult to come by, I've gotten the usual (US) American "drug store/department store" brands like, Hanes, No-Nosense, Leggs', Burlington. These are good brands and are quite fine for everyday wear! My ex, loved them when I got them for her, and she couldn't really find fault with any of those brands, and if your a "curvy/shapely' gal, they do come in the larger-longer sizes, too and they come in just about every color!. . . . jay_nyca1
