If only my feet were small enough   Thes are my idea of the perfect pump - and even on sale.

The basic ' Classic Pump '. Believe it or not, I find them ageless and appropriate for almost anything. They are so boring and simplistic that they become attractive to me. If Im not wearing one of the few wedge boots/booties I have, Its always a classic type pump for myself.

Wow, ILK, I didn't realize that you were comfortable in heels that high!  Seems to me most of your wonderful collection has been a bot more conservative height wise?  They look good with those skinny jeans you have on in the pics here. Beyond my limit though!  Enjoy!

The shoes your commenting on are ' common ' height in my pumps category. The largest platform/jackstand I own is about 1inch. I dont really wear anything with a platform as Im 5'10" and with a platform, I look like a tree in a crowd with a pair of cynderblocks on my feet. With platforms, I stand out too much when all I want to do is blend in and enjoy myself, be a ' nobody ' and go about as I choose. I dont want attention endless Im looking for it.

We setup our equipment and for safety reasons, Im going with the hi-top wedge sneakers. Its very dark on stage. I am ( however ) bringing those pumps with me to wear after were done playing. ;)

And I dislike jackstands as well!  .

Its not that I dislike jackstands, I find them having a rather entertaining value on most men. It takes a certain kind of ' build ' on a guy to really look good in them ( higher platforms ). Theres 2 members on here whom really have the physique and personality to ' Rock ' a higher platform and they do it better then most of the women I know. I'm not one of those 2 though. :D .

I dont wear anything with open toes, anything over a 1/2inch ' platform ' OR anything with a ' thick ' heel. They just dont look right on me in comparison to a wedge or a classic-type of pump. Its a self-observation with inputs from various sources.

    To each their own.

    Cheers!

  2. I thought it was just the shape of my feet that had changed due to a change of circumstances resulting in my being on my feet all day...

I thought that maybe my feet were a tad bigger or ' setteling ' as Ive hit the ' mid 40s ' in my years. I then put on several pairs of pumps that I have had for a few years and they all still fit the same, nice and cozy. All were 9.5 to 10 US womens in size. Today, a US womans 10 is very tight.

  3. A fine song by a fine band.

It took a bit of finding, but I remembered the line about Sheriff John Brady & Deputy Hedge from my dim & distant past - God knows where from.

Was this released around 1990? I remember singing along to it at a bike rally - one of my friends had it on cassette & we played it non-stop on the Friday night whilst knocking back copious amounts of alcohol till the batteries ran out on his machine.

Believe it or not, I never liked this song. Not when it came out and not really even today. Its just a song the band was kicking around.

Im trying to think what will be next for ' name that tune '. Im trying to think of something kind of popular yet not too common that its named right away.

Though I will say that 2011 isn't recent

For myself.. it is. 3-5 years is recent for me as life is moving by slowly ;)

    Cheers!

  4. Ive noticed ( as probably a lot of others have ) that sizes have never been consistent amongst different brands or ' names ' of footware.

In a nine west, a size 10 used to fit perfect. In Aldo, a 10.5 or 11 was a perfect fit. Pleaser was a 10, ZiGi was a 10.5 or 11...

Recently, I've had to purchase a half to a whole size larger. NineWest is now a 10.5 or 11 for a good fit.

Shoe Makers/MFGR's are now ( supposedly ) making ' larger ' sizes. Its not that uncommon to see a size 10 or 11 on the shelves of a lot of different brands.

What Im questioning is if these makers are just re-labeling things a bit and then adding 1 larger size to their lines after relabeling.

An example would be that a maker might have a size 12 out there in their listings, but in older measuring, its really a size 11 and their present size 11 is really a 10-10.5.

    Anyone else noticed such?

    Cheers!

  5. Not exactly no, I was grumpy because I was supposed to be Snorkelling in the red sea and not ending my relationship and spending Christmas at home alone not having had time to plan anything else.

Eh.. The other half's loss. If ya want, you can come to the States for New Years and see a Live Band play. ;) I hear they are ' ok ' and have a ' weirdness ' about them.

  6. Just had a rather amusing thought -  ILK, do you think you could you cover it & do it as a future 'name that tune?'

(Bikergoth sits back grinning with another beer to await the fallout!)

Only if Miss Amanda will start participating in the ' Name that tune ' threads that I post up. ;)

Send me the song in a private message and I will see what I can do.

    Cheers!

  7. "Snortin Wiskey" is implying the Pat Travers Band and it isn't champagne, but clue #2 leads me to thing SuperTramp - Breakfast in America album. Supertramp has had a lot of member changes over the years, and I doubt many would know anything else they did beyond Breakfast in America. Maybe I'll get to a hot spot and check out the video sometime this weekend.

Umm.. It was snortin whiskey and drinkin cocaine . I had the name wrong.

    Nope. Not supertramp. :D

  8. Merry Christmas ILK!

Is it something by Johnny Winter? I had a couple of his albums on vinyl in the 1970's & it sounds very similar to his style,

Nope. I used to be in a band that covered snortin whiskey and drinking champagne though. ;)

Clue #2 : One of their albums was named after something touted about eating in the United States.

  9. Even if the color is slightly more than expected, they look great. Good pick - - - do they make hot pink picks???

Umm.. They have a ' pearl pink ' which is like a white with a very light pink overtone to them..

    https://www.sexyshoes.com/p-694-ss-9706.aspx

They only had pink-pearl and fuchsia in size 11 ( which fits a small 10, large 9.5 . They do run a full size or so smaller ( maybe my feet have grown? ).

Red, black and white are all sold out for anything even close to what I wear..

  10. This one is a bit different. Its not punked-out or anything. The backing track was pre-recorded and I was goofing around with different parts. The part where I was singing, the mic was turned off. Nobody really wants to hear me sing in fear of their dogs running away, the speakers in their equipment crying foul OR D.H.S. coming thinking you have some new type of weapon. The Guitar is live, the vocals and other tracks arent.

( Video is a touch out of synch. )

  11. Well, good luck to you, my friend. I hope all goes well for you!

    Thanks again.

I will have a Merry Christmas though. They came today. Man.. these things are comfortable! The footbed is padded ( but not overly leaving things unstable/too soft ). The color is a bit different then the pictures. They are more of a hot pink then a fuchsia. The fit is dead on for my feet.

Im normally not a fetish type of guy, but the sound of these on a large tile floor in a mostly empty hallway in dead silence..

I think im going to ditch the pale or white knee-highs and just go with a color natural to my normal skin tone. It doesnt look like they are, but they have a 5.25 inch heel ( thats 133mm for the non SAE types ;) ). No jackstand at all.

  12. How long with your set be? I mean, spike heels aren't exactly comfy like bedroom slippers or sneakers after all. Oh, yeah! What will you wear with those shoes?

The set will be.. Probably just over an hour. Our singer.. well.. lets say this is his very first gig. Hes never done Kareokee or even held a mic before we put him behind one. We dont want to be up there too long endless he finds the hook-n-groove and gets cumfy in his own skin. If that happens, an hour and a half. He might just look out at the crowd and run off and leave us to take over singing ( yes, I speak from experience, such has happened before ).

As for my other attire.. A white collared shirt unbuttoned. The back is VERY long, almost like coat tails ( almost reaches the back of my knees ). It has regular sleeves. Some kind of T-shirt underneath it. Stone washed leggings ( Blue with a LOT of white in them ). ' Cheaters ' or knee length stockings in a pale white color or possibly a nylon/spandex type of sock ( again in white ).

The 3 guitars Im using are 2 Charvel SoCal models and one Jackson DK-1. White ( standard tuning ), Bright Pink ( Tuned down 1/4 step or just ' flat ' ) and a Metallic flake Purple in standard tuning.

I try to wear what matches my guitars or match guitars to what I wear. I try to be presentable ;)

As for the time in heels.. I can go a good 4 or 5 hours without any issues. Im used to wearing them almost every day when Im not doing physical labour. My only concern is with them being new and not yet ' broken in '. I DO have the SAME shoe in a size 10/white ( bought over a years ago ) but they are a bit too snug. They fit my friends 8.5USWomen PERFECTLY. I ordered these Fusicha ones in a USWomans 11 so Im hoping they will fit much better.

  13. To match that pink guitar, I suppose.

Yep. If they arent too much of a hazard ( cords, bad lighting, small-ish stage ). If not, I have a pair of neon-ish wedge sneakers. Ggood to have a backup plan ;)

    Good luck to you!

    Thank you Jeff!

    Killer shoes there ILK.

I wanted Black but they were out. Its a rare find these days to be able to purchase a non platformed shoe with a metal stiletto. 80's wear for sure! :D
