  1. great story man. If you were in the area you shoulda gone to either sherway gardens, square one or the eatons centre....even dixie value mall is better than yorkdale  I've never been there myself, but I've never heard particularly good things. oh well, either way....congrats on a good night out. It was me and my girlfriends 1yr anniversary this past weekend too, and I actually got up the nerve to tell her about my hobby...although she thought it was a little strange at first...she made it clear she doesnt really care, in fact she said she was thinking about it and thought it was pretty cool. :D I figured that would be her response all along, but it was certainly tough to get it out the first time. looks like we both had pretty good weekends here in T.O

  2. deviantart is a great site.....there are thousands of pictures of boots that I often search through. In fact, I just recently (yesterday night actually!) got up the nerve to tell my girlfriend that I like to wear high heel boots..... Ive been trying to slowly suggest the idea for the past few months and one of the ways I was doing so was by always putting pictures of boots as my "favorites" on deviantart so whenever my girlfriend would come to my page, she'd see my work along with a random favorite picture of mine, which would often times be boots or shoes....it really did help to sort of "break the ice". great picture too btw....she is a very open minded artist

  3. one of the only times ive ever been out in "public" with heels was walking at night time in a pair of knee high 2.5inch heels with a block heel....they are actually much prefferable to my skateboarding shoes because of the relatively grippy sole they have. I dont think id want to wear stilleto's out in the snow any more than Id want to wear them on dry ground....not too much :D

  4. santa just went out boxing day shopping and bought me a pair of knee high round toe platform boots with a zipper on the side as well as lacing on the front....ill post pictures soon

  5. got any pictures of the boots she was reffering to? Im curious.... and congrats on the compliment.....I cant share any stories of my own because I dont go out in heels yet, but either way its always nice to hear a positive story like this.

  6. none of those are particularly my style, but if I had to choose my favorite it would be the chunky black ones in the last picture. Either way thats a nice little collection you've got started on :D

  7. I actually found that "mommy" comment to be a bit wierd and untastefull myself.....its one of those things that you could make work if you were speaking and really emphasized your words properly, but when merely typed out....did come off as a little strange.... For the most part I was impressed with the quick turnaround of the members of that board.....with a little reasoning and gentle explanation I can usually shut down most people in an arguement, this included. :D

  8. Its a great idea, except I still think that the idea of men in HIGHLY feminine styles of footwear, such as stilleto pumps, will be met with lukewarm (at best) responses from the average person. If merely from a practicality standpoint. Im a very athletic and fit 19year old who's 6ft 180lbs and I can barely wear shoes like most of those you posted.....dont get me wrong...I could most certainly walk in them, but id be the first to say you were crazy if you wanted me to sacrifice my incredible sense of mobility and freedom by wearing 4inch stilleto's all day. Ya I could survive, but id feel genuinely oppressed whenever I wanted to do something that required me to be active in almost any form....I couldnt leap up and down stairs, couldnt jog along or run if im in a rush......I think if we are going to advance our cause in a feasable and realistic manner that we need to show images in men in realtively "practical" heels, like chunky/wedge/platform styles......dont get me wrong.....I wish we lived in a society where I could wear a pair of patent pumps or boots out when I was going somewhere dressy, but most men wouldnt desire, not want that. I think we're better off starting slowly and portraying an image with a significantly lower shock value than what you are presenting the glamour forums. And please dont get me wrong....im 150% for any ideas you may have, and am overwhelming appreciative of your efforts to our cause on this forum and in real life, I just feel that if we are ever going to reach the ideal end goal, we should do it in a tactful and realistic manner. just my $0.02

  9. I think as long as she is associating with good friends, doing alright in school and generally staying out of trouble then you should let her wear whatever she wants. Although, I believe that the rest of her attire will ultimately dictate how appropriate they are. The boots with heels themselves shouldnt be any problem...but if she starts to wear skanky clothing or you think she is coming off as way over mature, to the point where it could her in trouble, then by all means draw the line. You say your a street heeler yourself....does she see you wearing heels? Im sure there a variety of reasons why she would want to wear them.....maybe, like you, and me, and everyone else here, she just likes that style of shoe. As a relatively young person myself (19), id definetely caution you against telling her she cant do something. Parents often wonder why kids rebel and dont listen to them, and quite simply, its because when parents say "no" (to anything), they might as well have said yes, because their kid is going to do just that. Being told "No" hurts, and is insulting and makes you feel small and stupid. Id suggest making a reasonable compromise. Let her know why you dont want her to wear them, and then suggest that since she cant wear that particular pair, that you two will go out and buy her some with a lower heel. Either way you go about it id try and be polite and reasonable with any of your demands because the last thing you want is a pissed off daughter who sneaks around and changes clothes when she gets to school etc... And also.....yes, wearing heels might not be the best for a growing body....but you know what? being a kid isnt the best thing for your body either. I *know* im going to have obscenely painfull, not to mention debilitating, arthritis and god knows what from the years and years of unfathomable abuse I have subjected my body to when skateboarding snowboarding trampoling and just being a kid. Your dieing from the day your born and nothing in the world can stop the inevitable....I say you might as well enjoy your youth and mobility while you can, or else your going to wake up one day a very very old person and realise you havent really lived a day in your life. Its far better to burn out than to fade out. just my $0.02

  10. those look like theyd be almost impossible, not to mention, quite uncomfortable to wear for any length of time. Sure, if you were sitting down not moving im sure theyd be fine....but I've a rather distinct feeling they would be most troublesome to walk in unless fitted PERFECTLY, constantly coming loose/falling off, etc...

  11. Ya Im not too worried about taking them into the cobblers...the financial repurcussions are whats stopping me at this point....I also sort of like this dress, and although ive never had much of a liking or even an interest for them before....but this one is ankle length and looks really nice with my boots.....itll be a shame if I cut it all up....but we'll see :D
