  1. I bought a new pair of shoes last saturday, I don't know if I can call these boots or closed shoes. They look like ankle boots but there is no shaft at all... well, what matters is that I loved them at first sight and had to return to the store to buy them.

Ah, classic "granny shoes"... I like the style very much, although the color doesn't appeal to me- I'd prefer all black (either patent or not).
  2. Personally I don't believe in surgery for non-medical reasons. Certainly the idea of having an operation in order to wear a particular shoe is madness to me.

    Chris

I share your point of view (of course besides extreme cases, like i.e. a terribly burnt face or a very ugly nose). I'd rather perform an operation on a shoe :D.

  3. By the way, I had a strange dream today too. I was coming back home by car, sitting in a back seat with a young, attractive girl and picking her up. And it turned out that her BF was driving- and he was jealous too :D so in a "nice little act of revenge" he drove me about 60 kilometers away, far beyond the city, and left me in this unknown territory. Whoa. Several times I expericenced what I've been dreaming about. That's a strange feeling (called deja vu), or maybe just a disturbance in the Force. And I fear that I'll be caught in such a situation someday...

  4. Why not go for it tubehead? If you like that style, and feel it will fit with your look in general, then just do it.

I'm sure someone on this forum has already street heeled in Oxfords, but they're not my cup o tea

Well, I'm just a "theoretical wearer" unfortunately and ain't got a pair, except for those in my dreams . I love the look of these shoes however. I'd like to buy some, but I have no cash and frankly I don't know of any places in Poland where I could buy some, and international transactions are too scary for me :D. Maybe some other time...

  5. I've searched this forum a bit and stumbled across some pics and opinions about high heel oxfords (a.k.a. granny shoes, or governess shoes). Some were positive, but this style didn't appeal to most of people. I wonder why :D. High heel oxfords are a real turn-on for me, they're IMHO classy and elegant, and very androgynous- a "feminine" heel combined with a generally "masculine" shoe. Thus, at least for me, it's a fashion freestyler's perfect choice- could go well with a suit (or at least I imagine it that way ), either conventional or more avant-garde (e.g. a tux, or made of leather), jeans etc. I haven't got any "granny shoes", but I'd like to someday  either black leather or black patent (to match very elegant outfits), with max 4" heels not to make them look too blatant. What are your opinions?

  6. I'm in favor of adding a male/female profile info (not forced, so if there's someone who wants to hide their gender, they can do it), and showing it under the avatar too. I think that'd be a good idea as mods could more effectively remove spam from women's forum etc.
