  1. Hey, Tech - thanks for the lowdown on MSE. I had a total software overhaul, and I *mean* it: backup, repartitioning and formatting, setting up FreeDOS, Windows 98, Windows XP and Linux [coming soon :)]. You know, some older games don't run in XP even in compatibility mode, and using a virtual machine or DOSBox makes them run sluggish on my P4 3GHz HT and 2GB RAM. Installing MSE was a good move, cause it detected a rootkit right away, during the initial quick scan. Couldn't remove that, though - but a Kaspersky's solution worked. The system is undergoing a full scan now. Anyway, I hope that MSE will work better and use less resources than Comodo Internet Security I used to run before. That thing peed me off, really - it came to asking me whether I want to allow a program to run, even if I told it to remember my decision. Plus, it was somewhat memory-consuming, but way less than NOD32 + Sygate Personal Firewall I used to have some years ago.

  2. Ask Roni: http://missxronix.blogspot.com - he's quite an extreme body modification afficionado and fashion freestyler [and yes, he wears heels as well] who used to live in Cracow, but moved out abroad. He says his life is much better in western EU, and I think he's certainly right. Since many primitive young alpha males in tracksuits and their female counterparts with heavy make-up and fake tan roam the streets, it's easy to be shouted at etc. but the old town should be quite safe.

  3. I've always liked the whole western look, so most of my high heel collection is cowgirl boots. Sometimes, you can even accessorize, like with a nice pair of spurs.

These are JL Studio brand, dark brown, pretty close to knee high, with a 3.5 inch heel, size 11 US woman's. They're about the right size, could use to be just a little bit bigger. I got another pair of the same style in black that are marked a size 12, but run more like a size 10 (too small!).

You made my day! Fantastic outfit, I'll check the rest of your gallery out.

  4. Could we use the term shoebox, much less gender suggestive.

    Al

Well... even I, as a feminist, see nothing gender-suggestive about the "closet". It may suggest non-heterosexual orientation because it's mostly used with regard to gay/les/bi people, but I don't understand the thing about gender.

  5. That's right, I pay close attention to what one is wearing on their feet. Many a time I see a pair of ugly, mass-produced, non-shapely or outright vulgar footwear. The 'best' a.k.a. worst example is wearing a pair of athletic shoes with a suit. I'm discriminate about my footwear [and wear mostly "men's" oxfords]; even though all pairs of mine come from thrift stores or online auctions, quite a lot of people appreciate them. When I like the way a shoe looks on my foot and goes with my clothes, I buy it.

  6. I use a "vintage" EOS10D with Pentacon prime lenses and 28-80 kit lens when I need something light or can't do without AF . Getting a 5D / 1D / any analog camera would be an option for me, since sometimes - esp. for architecture - the effective focal length is too large because of a smaller [APS-C] sensor. This body was the last digital one not supporting EF-S lenses.

  7. On Friday, I went to some shops, then visited the remaining Lodz Design exhibitions. I had no opportunity to do that earlier, and the festival was about to end, so I had to hurry. A certain lady complimented my look and bike, we had a short conversation. There was a Critical Mass later on, and I've been participating since May. I wore an outfit as shown below .
