I don't think wearing heels, or even full femail attire turns you "bi", but some guys may find an underlying feeling, hitherto unknown to them. Guys who dress fully, may have a mad notion to see life from the other side, but again, most will use imagination and/or toys to satisfy those thoughts.

It's sad that you have to hide your footwear. If it is a must, how about self storage?, these range from 1sqm and have sprung up nearly everywhere.

I was there too, glad to welcome you here, just hope we are not too tame. Lori.

First off, huge thanks to Davina for extending her hospitality even to those of us previously unbeknown to her. I came by bus, and was a little disappointed not to find many "local" members had put in an appearence. This did not distract from us all having an excellent meet, my having posed for an avatar picture, soon to be seen. A few faces I had met before, but it's always nice to meet those whose threads we read. Thanks to the lift from Lovehiheels, I had an hours shopping in Broadmead before my bus home to Wales. Having skipped across two traffic lanes to reach the pavement, wearing my sandals, I entered the shopping centre passing 3 pavement cafe's and touring a large fashion outlet before finding Newlook and the shoe department. I tried on 3 differing pairs, walking to the mirrors to view same. One lady gave me a disapproving look, and two guys with thier girls looked amused, but one of these told his girl, and didn't seem to like her answer. Outside in the main concourse, two lads with short haircuts had a laugh probably at my expense, but a lady sat on a bench was happy to point out the best route to the bus station, and said I might be hardpressed to make my bus in those heels. I gave in to her local knowledge, and changed into something lower. I should think upwards of 200 people saw me in that hour, and 99% had a good to favourable view. Want to wear your heels out?, do it! Roll on the next meet.

I have two friends of some 40 years standing. They both have known for the greater part of that time, and each have their own views and advice. Since it is my aim to be honest and open, newer friends are let in, if they hadn't already noticed, when an opportunity occurs. Once you do anything on a regular basis, others will notice and word get around, so chances are that a lot folk already know, but choose to ignore or let be.

you can always bring your heels in a bag, then put them on when, and if, you feel relaxed enough.

I wore my oxfords to the dentist, sadly no one paid attention or mentioned them, even when on full view with the lady dentist and her nurse. You mentioned your wife was " pissed" after the meal, does this mean she is not comfortable with your heels? Mine grudgingly accepts, but will lay down the law on times, and I try to consider her view unless it's totally silly.

max, your thread highlights why I prefer to present myself in a feminine manner. The macho bullshit your collegues portray is one of the things I feel strongly against, and when I discovered my liking for heels and skirts, age 9 or 10, fought many battles to lead an open lifestyle. That doesn't mean I approve or condone public shows of affection by gay couples, and even excessive shows by straight couples. Odd, perhaps, but everyone has some views that that clash with the mass viewpoint.

can't see why you have a problem with uk9(eu43) as many high street stores carry the size in a variety of modern styles. I have bought two pair, one from george@asda, the other from next clearance.

Would we be having this question if it were an everyday day thing for men and women to dress alike?. Possibly, because humans are programmed to question and rationalize everything.

I bought my first courts from Ravel. Georgeous design, quality was poor though. I still have my first knee boots bought from Shoefair back in '72, still wearable, but need heeling and a loose zip repair.

In Newport Mon. there is a next clearance (by Argos & T K Max in Maesglas) and they have 9s most of the time. Prices vary between £10 and £50 and tend to be seasonal. So far, no objections to trying them on, but customers do tend to gawp.

I was honest with my wife, yet 25 years on, she still tries to discourage my wearing them publicly; happily to no avail.

After a 10 m0nth abscence, i have returned to find many new names. With a glut of heels, many up to UK9/43, i am actually finding it hard to find some mid heel sandals for everyday use. I wear my heels out most days, in conjunction with Cd drab, and wearing any outfit that exceeds 40% menswear amounts to less than 5% total outings.Other than a few double glances, or the odd group of waste-of-spacers heckles, i go about my buisness without any problems. Circumstances being favourable, i hope to attend the WHM2010, and meet up with old friends and put personalities to names.

ALSHEELS Beware, New Look 9s are e42, ie uk8

I still have the first new pair of boots I bought more than 35 years ago. If that is a phase, then it's pretty long. The net, and sites like this, has encouraged me to be more open about my likes and desires. I wear heels on a daily basis, not always very high, or very thin heels, but always higher than mens, sometimes a skirt too, and other than sneaking after dark, probably would not have done so without seeing others writting on line. Now the cat is out of the bag, I can't predict when, or if, it will ever be caged again.

shoe shops are still stocking large numbers of heels, so other than children trying to look grown up, who is wearing them? silly question really,......men!
-
keels, no problem in thier Newport branch. Must say they have had a slightly disapointing selection in the larger sizes, of late. You may also like to try Next/ Next clearance or Evans or Barratts/fairprice. Again, never had problems in these stores.

My elder sister and mum both wore stilettos on a regular basis. I hadn't paid much attention until i was about 10 when, at a friends, we played dress-up with his elder sisters things. Half an hour in her white stilettos, and well, the rest is history.

last night I had to take daughter-in-law to hospital casualty, nothing too serious, and had on 7cm two tone oxfords with slazenger casual trousers. Whilst sat in waiting area, the heels were fully on show, vamps as well. Got one or two smiles and no comments. I noticed a few heads turn as we walked the corridor out, but that was probably to do with the sound and not the vision.

hhboots: if you can find some old flats that fit but are expendable, you could drill a small hole[5mm/1/4"] inthe toe area, dust your feet with talcum powder then inject silicon mastic into the toe area with a builders cartrige gun. Sit or lie still until it sets, an hour should suffice, then remove shoe and leave for 24 hours. Next day remove silicon, this probably entails destruction of donor shoe, and trim excess material off. Adjust end, and if needed, sides to fit your bbs. When you lace into you boots, the insert should grip your toe area and fill any spaces, keeping your foot as in a flat position. I've not actually tried this, but think it could work, if you try and it doesn't, sorry, but i accept no responsibility, if it works.....yaeh, great, ain't i brill.

girlie is a persons perception. Take any group of people, and they will come up with different views, many the same or similar. To that group, the similar views define girlie. The individual will define what they consider girlie, but since the choice is "do I want to wear this/these"?, the term girlie need not enter the equation. It doesn't in my case anyhow.

most guys do. The question is why?. The guys here tend to be just a tad more interested than casual web browsers. Still, wish you a warm welcome and hope you find inspiration herein.
