The correct name (if any name can be called the "correct one") is *Jenny@come.to/high-heels* . The name with "http//" in it is the name that was previously used, and unfortunately is still the one used by those that access the chat through one of the 2 links near the bottom of Jenny's main chat page http://193.251.60.36/Jenny/chat.htm .
It turns out that the Java applets that automatically connect you to the chatroom have not yet been updated, and therefore at the moment you still end up in the "old room". Hopefully Phil is able to apply the necessary update soon, so that only one room name will be there and no confusion can arise.

Ahem, I seem to remember you visited last sunday evening (March 17), somewhere between 10 or 11 pm my time (which should be equivalent to around 4 to 5 pm East Coast Time). You didn't say a word, and vanished again after about 8 to 10 minutes if my memory serves me right. Best time to visit is when Debbie is there
which is on saturday evenings around 6 pm EST.

Could it have been one of these pictures?

The link to the chatroom is to be found at
http://193.251.60.36/Jenny/chat.htm
(the chat link page of Jenny's website)
It links to the servers of SPiNChat in Germany, and is based on a Java applet, so no IRC channels and things. You just need a Java-capable (and enabled) browser.

I can wholeheartedly agree with Firefox's list, but I think it misses one name: his own. For his time and effort in starting new discussions, keeping existing ones going and seeing after proper use of these boards.

(hoping FF won't have to lock this post, for using the wrong forum
) The temporary chat room linked from Jenny's site to SPiNChat International, *Jenny@http//come.to/high-heels*, was converted into a permanent chat room on 03/11/2002 and is now open and available to all chatters 24/7. You will notice the name of the room has been changed to: *Jenny@come.to/high-heels* to conform to SPiN's recently modified criteria for new room names. This name change and conversion from temporary to permanent status was discussed with Jenny and implemented with her full agreement and permission. Pheels has already modified the links from this site to the permanent chat room. Chatters entering the chat room from Jenny's site are automatically linked to this room. Chatters that enter the chat room via Rex and directly from the SPiNChat server, should look for the permanent room under its new name which will be permanently listed under the channels listing (Check ALL) or modify their Bookmarks to reflect the rooms new name. Happy high heel chatting, heel lovers

On the forum index page it says at the moment "We have -201- Registered Users" and also "The newest Registered User is -kilted scotsman-". Clicking on the name "kilted scotsman" in the latter line, produces his profile with URL
http://www.hhplace.org/hhboard/bb_profile.php?mode=view&user=199
So he appears to have user number 199. Being sometimes curious, I change that 199 into 200, and then the board software tells me "That Username doesn't exist". Same with user number 201.
-
ahem .... The number of registered users that is shown in the top right corner of the forum index page, is actually 2 more than the highest usernumber. How come ?? Have 2 names been striken from the database of registered users, while the counter has not been updated at the same time ? :???:

When trying to look at one of the pictures Geoff tried to post, I suddenly found myself looking at a screen with the following text:

Thank you for using ..........

So it is the same as with Geocities: you can only acccess files when you are on their own website - no off-site viewing.

Ben,
Just reading what you wrote, I strongly advise you <u>NOT</u> to visit the online "Bunion Museum" (link to be found at Google).

Oh golly, I see I have just been "promoted" from "comfy loafers" to "cowboy boots"

Ben,
I also like to see the more pointed style of shoe (must have been a remnant of the female shoe fashion "en vogue" during my youth beginning of the 60s). There are those who like to wear heels, but for the sake of their toes' well-being don't wear pointed shoes, but rather shoes with a square or rounded toe (I think Jenny herself falls in this category, if I remember well).
I wonder if all shoes with a pointed toebox really have to squeeze the toes merciless together. Shouldn't that also depend upon how long or short the toebox is ? Seems to me that a longer pointed toebox, whose sides start to converge beyond the toes, need not necessarily pinch the toes together (Trolldeg calls them "clown shoes"
). Indeed, such a toebox would be largely "empty" (I think you mentioned this yourself in one of your previous posts). On the other hand: a short, pointed toebox would have sides that are already converging in the area where the toes themselves have to find room to occupy, making it probably much more uncomfortable for them.
If people would really have to cut off toes if they would wish their feet to fit into specific shoes with a pointed toebox (note the irrealis - I cannot imagine that any sane person would even consider doing that), I should say that they have bought the wrong size. Correction: they have bought the wrong last, and should need a wider variety of that size.
Perhaps members with practical experience could shed more light on this subject. Based on what they have written before, I am now thinking of Eva and Inga in particular.

I came across a webpage where this link was mentioned:

I don't like the look of ballets either - they always remind me of a partially amputated foot with the front part missing. The arch of the sole looks nice, but that's all. IMHO it would look a lot better if a (dummy) front was present, so that at least it would like a complete foot was involved. That might also have a positive effect on maintaining your equilibrium, since there is a larger contact area with the ground.

Inga, Thanks, but now it is bedtime for me. Have a nice day yourself

A guess: Michael Palin, John Cleese and Eric Idle.

Inga, I think the scene about the Holy Handgranade is from "Monty Python and The Holy Grail", the fierceful foe looking like a small white rabbit with a preference for jugulars

I stand corrected, Francis.

How about asking Arno on the old board ? I remember he has posted there before about something similar.
