Dear dr1819, concerning spike heel platform sandals worn in public: I agree with you that they represent a (sadly) small percentage of heel wearing in general. However, there is some evidence that the style is gaining in popularity among young women in the UK (see, for instance, Richy's recent photo in the 'high heel sightings' thread in this forum)... SP.

this is a very interesting thread! Personally, my favourite platforms have the rounded heels that Chirone likes best (i.e. not the Louis-style heel). However, my three pairs of 8.5" heel platforms all have "Louis" heels - I couldn't find any brands that made 8.5" plats in a rounded spike-heel design in UK size 10! SP.

Dear W6ISH, seeing as many lucky Canadians in your area (and at your local mall) get to see your daughter strutting her stuff, maybe you could convince her to allow you to post a pic or two?
