jo73 Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 Hi all, I have just received a new pair of Scream 6.75" Oxfords from Sky High Shoes on eBay.co.uk There is approximately 5mm of play at the heel tip itself when walking in them.....does anyone know if they *all* do this, or are Sky High Shoes selling seconds? http://www.mayashoes.com/Scream_18_BlkPat.JPEG
highestheels Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I have never bought Scream shoes. But have bought from Sky High Shoes and have been very happy with them. As he only lives thirty minutes away I tend to pick them up. Seems like a genuine guy.
jo73 Posted August 12, 2008 Author Posted August 12, 2008 I agree, he is very genuine, and I have bought from him before. I wasn't really questioning the seller, but more the shoes themselves. I realise that cantilevering my 12 and a half stone 6 and 3 quarter inches in the air is a major engineering feat, but the shoes themselves feel very unstable to walk in, and I was wondering if this was inherant to all of the range. In contrast, I have some Pleaser 6 inch courts, and the heels on these are absolutley solid, despite having had them for over 2 years, and doing innumerable miles of heeling in them!
highestheels Posted August 12, 2008 Posted August 12, 2008 I have a pair of Hollywood Heels Sadist in red with a 7.5 inch heel and the flexing of the shoe makes it impossible to stand up in let alone walk. These also have a steel heel. I have steered away from half metal heels and gone to the Elle type of shoe with a 6 inch heel (6.5 in my size) I am over 14 stone!
WobbleFan Posted August 15, 2008 Posted August 15, 2008 I've had a pair and one of the heels snapped off completele. I might have known, als Alternative Footwear already stated their not really recommended for walking. So be careful.
balletboot2000 Posted August 18, 2008 Posted August 18, 2008 There is some heel flex in these shoes, but with practice, you'll learn to get your toes down sooner and rely less on the heel. That way they are not under as much strain. I love the feel of that ultimate lift!
