ChipsHH Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 Hey, I was wondering. I was walking outside just a minute ago (coast was clear, no one home, so safe to go), and I was walking along the sidewalk. I came back in to find the bottom of my heels (yes, heels) scratched some. I'm believing it was the way I was walking, but has anyone had this problem before? I don't know if I'm posting in the right place, by the way. Formally "HHDude"
jmc Posted December 17, 2007 Posted December 17, 2007 I don't know what style you were wearing but it does seem that high heels take more of a pounding than flat heels do. Even with the block and wedge styles the heel has a whole lot less surface area than a flat heel, this concentrates your weight on a much smaller spot. (Of course, with stilettos this effect becomes extreme.) The result is that high heels show more wear and wear faster, that's why there is so much discussion about replacing heel tips around here. I've even had heeled shoes come with a spare pair of tips that you could replace yourself. At least that's my experience. Have a happy time!
