Zappos is generally quite competitive in their pricing. This has got to be the result of some kind of pricing policy on the part of a supplier -- perhaps driven by a tax or tariff.

Have a happy time!

hope this is the right place for my question, if not please move...

I bought these boots: http://www.zappos.com/n/p/dp/31195587/c/78930.html at a local store in germany and paid around 120 Euro for them. At zappos.com they cost $ 392.95 this is around 276 Euro, a difference of 156 Euro (around 221 USD). Where does this big difference come from? Or is zappos.com that expensive?

Fabulous boots. I often wonder about the price disparity between countries, I think its partly down to to what the manufacturers/resellers thinks they can get for it in each country, after all average income is different, but that does seem a big difference

zappos gives free shipping in the US, on both going out and returns. Plus I believe most of their shipping is now overnite, so they have to make up the costs somewhere.
