Driver8 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 But I really don't want to buy boots mail-order without trying them on first!
Shafted Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 Wow! Those things have a serious amount of toe spring. Shafted, the boots that is! ShockQueen Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 My thoughts exactly. Where did you see these at? They look very unique to be sure. SQ.....still busting societal molds with a smile...and a 50-ton sledge!
Dr. Shoe Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 You want them do you? Why.....? Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
TXT-1 Posted February 3, 2006 Posted February 3, 2006 yes Why? they look like they belong in the "ugly shoes" thread... as they say "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" or in this case... :drinking: :drinking: BEERHOLDER! :drinking: :drinking: but if you want those elf boots go right ahead... later, TXT-1
Dawn HH Posted February 4, 2006 Posted February 4, 2006 Driver8:-) I'm certainly not a fan of boots with toe spring and I definately steer clear of them. But, if they tickle your fancy, go to it. Like Dr. Shoe says---WHY! Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
Driver8 Posted February 4, 2006 Author Posted February 4, 2006 Click on the picture to see where they are from. (I would never be so mean as to tease you without offering any further information!) Why do I like them? My tastes run more towards the freestyle, and less toward the fetishy. I'm notorious now for digging shoes considered ugly on this board! Apparently, Irregular Choice sells at Bloomie's. And, I just discovered a new one, right in Soho on Broadway! (I wonder how long it's been there!) But there was nothing so interesting in their shoe selection tonight.
new_look Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Whats the idea with the 'toe spring' i find it attractive looking daz
Shafted Posted February 6, 2006 Posted February 6, 2006 Whats the idea with the 'toe spring' i find it attractive looking daz All footwear has a certain amount of toe spring, which is intentionaly built into it in order to make the shoe easier to walk in by allowing the wearer to roll off the ball of the foot to the toe. This is a normal action of the walking foot. The boots shown above have an excessive amount of toe spring essentaly putting the toes in a high heel position even though the heel is relatively low. Think of wearing a 5 inch heel with 3 inches of heel cut off and this is what you'll have. Shafted, the boots that is! Dawn HH Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 Here's where Daz and I differ in our opinions on the toe spring on those boots. He thinks that they are attractive and they really don't impress me at all. So goes the world. I respect his opinion. Cheers--- Dawn HH High Heeled Boots Forever!
new_look Posted February 7, 2006 Posted February 7, 2006 shafted eplains the attraction pretty well in the respect that the foot is made to be in effect placed in the arch of a higher heel, although the heel is lower and easier to walk in daz
