Dr. Shoe Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Saw this in another forum (For The Gals(!)): "...Oh what we do for men! lol I was in Williamsburg Virginia last fall (a colonial town preserved in the 1700s ). I can sympathize about heels on cobblestone or brick. One of the historical interpreters (pretending to have never seen such shoes) said "Madam, those are the finest quality of roach killers I have ever witnessed....they should do nicely when you have trapped the little devils in a corner of a room" Well, my boyfriend just howled and we now often refer to my pumps as "roachkillers". Jen..." The reason I smiled is because it so happens that part of my surname is Roach! Graduate footwear designer able to advise and assist on modification and shoe making projects.
jenniferhouston1 Posted August 10, 2004 Posted August 10, 2004 Dr. Shoe, How funny. You would have enjoyed the interpreters comments also. We did get the impression that the interpreter "21st century interest in heels" was coming through his 18th Century character by "pretending" to be so fascinated by them. Jen
