Hi everyone, Just found this site and want to say hello. My boyfriend just bought me a pair of designer heels, and I've never worn heels this high. He loves me wearing them, but sometimes they're a bit of a challenge. I was hoping that people can give me some pointers.

One suggestion I have is that going from low heels to very high can be a huge challenge. My suggestion would be to do the following:

  • Using your highest low heels that you can wear for long periods of time, get a pair of heels that are about 0.5 inches (1.27cm) higher and wear them as long as you can, trying to extend the time you can wear them.
  • Repeat step 1 using the higher heels as the starting point, until you get to the heel height of the designer heels your boyfriend got for you.
While you are doing this, you can continue to wear the designer heels for your boyfriend (or even yourself). Good luck.

Thank you Sinkem for the advice. I showed my boyfriend your post and he just rolled his eyes. I had promised him I would wear the shoes if he bought them for me, and now he's thinking he's going to have to buy me multiple pairs with different heel heights. I've been wearing them around the house after work & on the weekends. They're getting easier to wear, although I've stumbled a few times catching the heel on my slacks. My boyfriend just laughs and says I should be wearing dresses anyway. I love the looks he gives me when I wear them, and have to admit they're sexy to wear.

I've noticed that I pay more attention to my stance now. I catch myself making sure I'm standing correctly. My boyfriend is so much taller than me, now I can actually peck him on the cheek if I really stretch.

Welcome! Before my husband and I were married, he bought me probably $10K in shoes - Chanel spectator oxfords, Mary Janes from Manolo, you name it. Many of these shoes I still wear, though for a while I've only been wearing one (that'll change soon once I get my prosthesis).
