DGMurdock Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 im not sure if you all have seen this but check it out there called Bootights I think this is a good idea Its somthing i say on kickstarter lets gets this funded Bootights: a premium tight + attached performance sock http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/1046038124/bootights-the-first-best-tight-for-boots-made-in-u?ref=category http://www.bootights.com/
Mike Hinch Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Totally something to this one and I can say that some of my favorite boots can easily wear a hole in regular tights and can also be hard on my compression hose. That not a problem to those without a swelling problem but surely a plus for those with the normal problems of life.
Steve63130 Posted August 9, 2012 Posted August 9, 2012 Mike, here is a product that might help you. Instead of an athletic sock, there is a compression dress sock attached to the tights. http://www.glieberman.com/products/A4012-Thermofabric-Full-Support-Patterned-Tights.html Steve
Mike Hinch Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 This is interesting and will keep it in mind however from what I can see there is no compression rating and went I went to the details it explains that there is no real industry standard for compression ratings still I would like some sort of best guess of what the compression actually is. anyway I like the look and feel of the 30-40 Ultimate sheer support from DSS.
Steve63130 Posted August 10, 2012 Posted August 10, 2012 You're right, there is no compression rating. Since it is not medical hose it isn't required, and hasn't ever been measured, so I don't have a clue as to what it is. Since different companies have different ways to measure compression, it's not that meaningful to compare one brand to another anyway, but I'm sure it's nowhere near 30-40; much less. Steve
