This year AOL Broadband Awards were given to designs showing innovation in design, technology and research. The technology award was won by an underwater MP3 player, another ward went to a hand held clothes scanner, and another award to a protective bag. The interesting bit (from Professional Engineering, 25/6/03) : "A special commendation award went to Ella Kilgour's collapsible stiletto heeled shoe. The 9cm stiletto is created by pulling out the extension stored underneath the instep of the 2.5cm version and turning it to lock it in position." Nice one. Be youself, enjoy any footwear you like and don't care about what others think about it, it's your life, not theirs.
