Crushinboots Posted July 6, 2003 Posted July 6, 2003 Hello everyone, I was wondering if you could help me? My Girlfriend has a gorgeous leather skirt but unfortunately she put it in the wardrobe and the PVC outfit that was next to it has flaked off as it is old and bits of old black PVC are now stuck to the skirt like tar. How can we get the PVC off the skirt without damaging the leather skirt? Please can anyone help Yours Crushinboots
Yamyam Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Have you tried your local dry cleaner? There's a whole specialist art to cleaning leather clothes, and they may be able to help. Obsessed is such a strong word. I prefer to think of myself as "differently enthusiastic"
Francis Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 try using a hair drier to soften the pvc and carefully scrape the errant pvc off once it softens. or take it to the dry cleaners only advice I can offer
Firefox Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 Yes gentle heat but too much may damage the leather so a specialist solvent could be the answer. It dpends on how quick you need it and how much the skirt is worth.
Crushinboots Posted July 7, 2003 Author Posted July 7, 2003 To the people who very kindly gave me some advice on how to fix a problem with my girlfriends leather skirt which is stained with some PVC of another outfit I say thanks. This whole site is great! I feel one of the family in here and I am glad to have found this site. There are some great people in this select group. Thanks Crushinboots
Firefox Posted July 7, 2003 Posted July 7, 2003 No problem crush. We welcome you as one of our number.
shoe guy Posted August 25, 2003 Posted August 25, 2003 you could freeze the leather. Leather will not freeze but the latex will. Like removing gum. Freeze it than brake it off. Hope this helps
