Rockpup Posted July 24, 2003 Posted July 24, 2003 I just saw a TV program that explained how chinese actors who portrayed women with bound feet did not have their feet bound, but they used splints that held their feet in the same shape as Alex's avatar, only at a more sever angle. Nearlly ballet boots The young men who were trained had to wear these for 12 hours a day for over a year in order to move around correctly, and for who knows how many years after that while performing. One of the actors who did this for many years was being interviewed and he still teaches dancing and was wearing flat shoes, but had no problem showing off his skill in his old splints. The human body can be forced to endure quite alot, our current 'debilitating' injury's are very minor compared to alot of what our ancesters had to put up with. Being permanently stuck in heels isnt quite so permanent, you may need to spend a couple months stretching but anything is possible. Jim (formerly known as "JimC")
